Anymore, the layout is where it's at and if a ride has a horrible layout, but has speed and height, then it's worthless. Cedar Point already has the gigantic Top Thrill Dragster, which has speed and height, but no layout.

Glad you agree with me, but you got me here. I'd much rather a ride get down to business quickly and end before I start yawning. 17 seconds of a ride is short, but not one of those seconds are boring.

I know they're not boring, but there's no layout there is what I'm saying, they're only going for height and speed, nothing else, and they achieve that very well. I've been on Kingda Ka and am eagerly awaiting some rides on Dragster in September.

I like height and speed, but I also like layouts as well, and when the two are combined, some of the greatest coasters ever were created: Apollo's Chariot, Alpengeist, Steel Force, Millennium Force, Magnum just to name a few; all are around 200 feet tall or higher and they still have amazing layouts.

Ride Count at Dorney Park so far this year:
Hydra: 14 Laser: 3 Steel Force: 11 Talon: 18 Thunderhawk: 4
And that's just in 23 hours!

I think that by going in a whole new direction, Cedar Point is going to be working more on layout and thrills that way instead of speed and height.

That's probably exactly what the phrase means.

I thought they were aiming for the ultimate rush with TTD. That's what I get out of my rides on it.

That and "white knuckles".....which they got with Dragster.:)

Has anyone ever really thought about the one sign "A storm's a-brewin'"? Maybe it's going to be something like Storm Runner at HersheyPark? It has a nice layout and has a lot of the same features that are always being talked about as possibly being on this ride. The track and supports look alike too.

This is my take on some of the signs.

"A storms a brewin"-its going to be something really good
"Let out a big Yee haw"- Launch
"Blaze the trail"-it'll be fast
"We're going in a whole new direction- (like said above) different than the record breaking streak.
That's just my guess.

"Blaze the trail" literally means that you are going where noone has gone before. Lets hope this is the case!

So at the very least we can agree that all the "clues" are open to interpretation.

Am I correct in the observation that some of the track has indeed indicated the use of LIMS?

Promoter of fog.

I think there are more clues that point to the name being Maverick than would be necessary in a civil court case :)

I also am curious if anyone has any pictures of another coaster that uses a curved LSM/LIM piece like this one? In my mind this basically points to either launching uphill or a LIM/LSM lift hill - Someone else mentioned this could be the top of the hill.

Platinum has it's perks. So does living exactly 97.5 miles from King's Island and Cedar Point

Why would they use the name of a competing parks coaster to promote they're own?

"blaze the trail" "a storms a brewin" hey I think its gonna be a combo of Hershey Parks Storm Runner and Trailblazer!

I think everyone might be reading into these signs just a bit too much.

On a normal hill, you go up and then down. A double up would be if you go up, then level off and then go up again. A double down would be the opposite.

What coaster would be a good example?

"THE Top Thrill Dragster...THE Millennium Force...THE Wicked Twister...THE Magnum! How do you like those apples?!?!?"

The Voyage at Holiday World has a "triple down" that is in a tunnel. Also, the Jack Rabbit at Kennywood has a double down that is more easily photographed.

Oh, that isn't so bad. It looks like a little hop. But how would it be going up? I can't picture a coaster like that.

mabey if it had enough speed or it was launched or chain lift?

It may not look bad but that little bump has some killer air.

so u rode it?, how is the ride?

I rode it, i live in Pittsburgh. There's so much airtime everyone screams, "OH MY GOSH!!! WE"RE FLYIN OFF THE TRACKS." But yeah, I wonder what a double up would be.
