I’m definitely team dark tower.
Child me believes that game was awesome.

(Just an assumption you have an audience with him from time to time.)
Sure, we're friends, but it's a pretty arrogant and goofy assumption to expect that anything that goes on in the planning & design department has anything to do with this site.

I get that but doesn't it seem pretty intentional? It seems too deliberate and an exact color match not to have a correlation. You've created a fan site that has stood the test of time. And continues to grow, as does the park. It's not unreasonable to think it could be a possibility. Nor arrogant to ask the question.

I'm not, there isn't enough evidence to suggest the whole tower is getting painted. Probably just extending the launch.
I think a dark color tower will look so epic at night, if the entire track is white. Depending on how the original tower lights look against it, the white track might appear to be floating on air against a dark sky.

I think it's just a coincidence. I thought it was weird at first as well but I highly highly doubt it has a direct connection to the site. Blue and orange are complementary colors so it could just be that they simply choose those colors and it's just a coincidence that it's close to the PB color scheme.
That is unless, of course, it was intentional.......

Yikes. A swing and a miss…
I guess I'm in the conspiracy theory camp then, Adam. I get blue and orange. But it is the exact blue and orange. Not variations. I think it's too close to be a coincidence. Every time I look at it, I think po!ntbuzz.

I love the new paint scheme. Tower will look ominous and awesome in that shade of grey.
CP doesn't have any other ride with this kind of dark look - me gusta.

Joe, every time I see your comments I think of the Detroit Tigers. How about that no-hitter!
TTD 120mph:
They're likely getting to the easy to reach areas first before they have to resort to climbing/rappelling and scaffolding.
Could be based on the availability of their rigging/climbing team. They might not be available until later in the project.
It’s just a color scheme (a terrible one btw) and it has little to no bearing on anything important. It’s not so wild to think that when they were choosing colors they said “hey pointbuzz has been screaming for this to happen for a decade, let’s use orange and teal. We have to paint it anyway”. Not saying that’s what happened, but it’s possible. They obviously are aware of the existence of the website.
Regardless, terrible color scheme. Should have been something more dark and ominous for a swamp monster. Purple track and black supports would have been sick.

Anyways, the YouTube mock-ups of a TTD with only a 500ft spike as the addition are actually awesome and I wouldn’t care if it was the only addition. It would have to be ~500 ft though.
At the Black Shirt Higher-up meeting on the color scheme they were presented with the above options and the Main Consultant said:
One thing I'm interested in with the white track is will they do some type of track lighting package? I know Zamperla does offer a track lighting solution that can be programmed. I think if they do a nice track lighting package, it would look amazing at night. Especially do a programmed lighting affect that follows the train.
Launch track is starting to show up in the staging area. There doesnt appear to be any LSM components on them at the moment. For those that remember, how much of the hydraulic launch components (catchcar guide, brake fins, etc) were installed on the track segments when they showed up at the park in 2002? Pics I've seen on here suggest only a few sections had the catchcar guide but no brake fin hardware. Were they installed right before the segments were installed? Perhaps that's what they're doing here?
More interestingly, there doesn't appear to be any, noticeable, modifications to the track structure. They look just like they did in 2002.

Look closer... there appears to be some extra framing on just the one side. They're opposite in the photo because the sections are facing in opposite directions (look for the "nipple" on the rail itself, or cover for the end).
