MF is going to have A LOT less than half the people returning. I can think of like, 4 off the top of my head and one of them isn't even certain.

Some years a ride keeps nearly the same crew all season. Sometimes nearly everyone on the crew switches rides or leaves.
It depends on a number of factors such as not liking a ride, not liking the crew, not liking the TL/ATL, not liking the supervisor, promotions, operational violations, quiting and getting fired.
When I joined the MF crew in early July, it was pretty much a completely different crew. Different TL, ATL, and most of the crew came from other rides like I did.
And the crew that I worked with was pretty much all first year employees. In fact, I think only the blue tags weren't 1st years.

There were some returners at the begining of the season. That didn't last long though.
I don't know exactly how many returners actually returned this past season, I guess I could safely say I gave an overestimate.
I worked at Millennium Photo almost the entire season and I think I can name maybe 5 people from Millennium's crew. It seemed like they had a revolving door on that platform that never stopped spinning. Every week there would be new faces and others would disappear. I think I actually knew more people from Mantis' crew just from the half hour at a time I would spend over there giving breaks.

I was on the MF crew from Memorial Day until the end of the season, for what it's worth. I worked the first 3 weeks at Wildcat.

How many days during the season do you think Cedar Point has parking ban days??
Are they usually for more than one day or no?
thanks

July 3rd and 4th last year, although it was lifted both days before 3:00. They'll tell you about it a week in advance when you get your paycheck.

There were also the parking "suggestion" days, where they didn't force a parking ban, but they highly suggested not driving to the park. Last year the only ones I was there for were for a few saturdays in August.

I also have few questions.....
1: I have my birthday July 10th, does that mean there are no exceptions to the 18 year old minmum at all, And even though I would be turning 18 *soon* I wouldn't be able to be a Ride Host? Even If I have previous Ride Op experince?
2: Is getting a permit to work in america hard?
3: So if I were to go 'down' there I'd only be able to work probably mid june -- beginning of september, would that lesson my chances of being hired?
4: They have phone interviews right? because i don't plan on driving 10 hours from T.O. to go down there for gorram interview.
5: Do they have some kind of math test? an you give a quick example of what the interview questions may include?
Also, why is the age requirment so high? It's not that high here, I can be a Ride Op at Canadas Wonderland... I guess we have diffrent rules.
Only a little less then two years until I'll be able to work there, I'm loooking forward to it, It'll be like moving out... but I wont be.. hmm.
It sounds to me like you are an international. I believe that CP would require you to be 18 to participate as an international employee because they can not be legally responsible for a minor. Coming from Canada it might be a little easier, but I'm still not sure, I think that is more of a question for Cedar Point Human Resources than anyone else. You can email them at: work @ cedarpoint.com
That said:
1. You can be a ride host if you are 17. You will be assigned to Cedar Point & Lake Erie Railroad until you turn 18, at which time you may be able to transfer to other rides.
2. See above.
3. As long as you can commit at least 12 full weeks, Cedar Point will generally consider you for employment. It shouldn't be a big deal.
4. You can interview over the phone. After you have applied a hiring manager will either call or email you to set up an interview. In-person interviews are only required if you live within 25 miles of the park.
5. The interview questions are, in my opinion, not very hard. They basically ask you about yourself, your work and education history, and questions regarding policies at Cedar Point (grooming guidelines, etc.). They may also give you a situation and ask you how you would respond to it, etc. It wasn't really all that different than any other job interview.
6. It has to do with several factors. Safety, labor laws, liability, etc. Roller Coasters are considered heavy machinery and Cedar Point doesn't want to have minors in control of a guest's life.

I've never worked there, just applied for the first time this year. I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say that TL stands for Team Leader and ATL stands Alternate Team Leader. It is kind of like what we have at work, We have a Sup, and then Seniors, kinda like a TL and ATL. *** Edited 1/17/2006 8:32:34 AM UTC by Ray! At The Disco***

I was wondering when you get to cedar point to process in, do we have to pay the parking/causeway fine for the day? Or do we pay it and then get reembursed when we actually process it. Also where exactally do we go to process it?
