Since all you guys can say anything and get people to believe you I thought i might. Also some of you guys think it is a revolving restraunt and some a rollercoaster. So I thought I would combine them and this is what I found.
An Arrow Fish Hook
Sorry I forgot to tell you that they could build the coaster onto the revolving restraunt. Also an Arrow Fish Hook Can go 715ft with no problem and go 120mph. But thats just my
GUESS
I STRONGLY hope it's not a ThrustAir, simply because MF takes care of the speed category. I'd like to see loops return to the Point in the form of a B&M flyer, and for all you launched coaster fans out there, why not make it launch? They did it with the Hulk!
that be really nice if that fish hook comes to cedar point....i could really see it there....going over the millenium force island and back...and possibly breaking a world record.

"Laura, allow me to point something out that you may have missed while posting your above comment. Cedar Point employees were specifically told by Bill Sphen NOT TO SPECULATE IN ANY WAY ABOUT THAT AREA WITH GUESTS WHO MAY ASK. So, why waste your time? Its not like Mr. Kinzel is going to come up to you and tell you everything about it..." -matt2003

My above comment was: "well... the responses might be fun anyway...hehehe" and by the way... I did get a few responses, maybe not correct ones...but responses none-the-less. I thought it would be fun...don't condemn a girl for having a lil' fun! ::smile::
Ok...here's some responses I received 6-1-02
Park officer: "It's NOT going to be a restaurant... it WILL be a ride. They have said they will release the information on it in July. They really don't tell us anything. There are several footers, not just the ones behind the fence. There are also footers on the island. But we (hint hint) really don't know anything."
Park officer: "They don't tell us anything. All I know is 'It's gonna be over there.'"
Camp Snoopy Food Service Cashier: "I really don't know. They haven't said anything to us."
Game Host: "It's gonna be something big that's for sure."
Park officer: "Well, they placed the footers in May. So it will be big because these footers have to set for a LONG time. They will not be working on ANYTHING in that area until at LEAST September; that's how long the footers have to set. (I asked: "How deep ARE the footers?) I really don't know, but I do know they are deep and need time to set. It'll be big."
Ride Op: "Probably a parachute jump type of thingy."
Ride Op: "I have no idea. They don't tell us anything."
Paramedic: "It's kept very secret. I don't even know what they are doing over there. That type of stuff needs to be kept secret because of the competition between parks, you know, with so many other theme parks out there." (I said: "So you wouldn't tell me even if you DID know.) He grinned sheeplishly and said "I really don't know what their going to build." Then added "But it WILL be for 2003, not anytime this year."
::laugh:: This was fun! ::smile:: The funniest part about doing this was watching their reactions to my question about the "fenced in area." EACH one of them got this silly little smirk on their face and basically acted as though they ::ahem:: really didn't want me to ask too many questions...maybe for fear they'd "spill the beans."
So...take what you want and leave the rest! ::smile:: I just wanted to see what would be said and the reactions! Try it sometime and give us a post about it...it really IS fun!!! ::laugh::

Snoopy Rocks! On Ice starts June 22--Do you think they'll let me drive the Zamboni machine?
I want to drive the Zamboni!
I dont think its a restaurant at all, simply because, there wouldnt be this much mystery about it.
I disagree man. Most of this "mystery" as you call it, is, mostly coaster enthusiasts just crapping their pants at the chance at a new Cedar Point roller coaster.
If you ask me, Laura's interview with Park Officer #2 proves that it will not be a ride. Tell me any ride or roller coaster built before that required the footers to be set, oh say, 9 months ahead. I don't know what the ride will be, but Cedar Point has tremendous success with restaurants at their resort... that's primarily why we keep seeing more and more of them (Coasterz, Johnny Rockets...).
Roller Coasters and Rrestaurants are what brings in the majority of guests and revenue. People come to ride the extreme rides, and pay to eat at extra-ordinary eateries. So why is it hard to believe that Cedar Point is about to open the most lavish restaurant at a park ever?
It seems like a rotating restaurant it’s right in line with all the insane additions to the park so far.

Depending on how hard long they cure the concrete really determines how strong the concrete bond will be. Here is an excerpt from a website:
Time is also an important factor in determining concrete strength. Concrete hardens as time passes. Why? Remember the hydration reactions get slower and slower as the tricalcium silicate hydrate forms. It takes a great deal of time (even years!) for all of the bonds to form which determine concrete's strength. It is common to use a 28-day test to determine the relative strength of concrete.
Here is the website:

Assuming from the length of time they are curing these footers it must be something rather substantial that will require a VERY solid, well cured foundation.
WOW!!! 507 posts now!! What is the record?
