The Mysterious, possible footers

So I should have made myself clearer. 2 LARGE coasters in 2 years. And I realize Delerium is not a coaster. If you look back towards the beginning of this thread, I asked about what kind of footers would be used for a Huss giant. If it's not going to be the restaurant, I'd place a bet on one of the Huss rides.

Xcelerator looks really great in the test video, but I think it is much too similar to Millennium Force to be considered by CP. Not just at Area 51, but in the next few years I doubt they would put one of these in. It's essentially and air-powered MF with a top hat instead of a lift hill.

Welcome to...Millennium Force...

If this is indeed a coaster (still not for sure myself), i don't think that it would be an xcelerator type.  I only say that becuase CP will usually go with some proven designs and just make them bigger, i.e. Wicked Twister, Power Tower, Mantis, Magnum, Millennium Force.  They could do something that no one has ever seen before or ever even heard of.  I think I would like that better.  Anyway, whatever it is, lets just hope its worth it.

Someday's it's just not worth chewing through the restrains.

When I say look deep into the matrix at Huss..first off I am being sarcastic as far as "The Matrix" goes, secondly, I would look at Huss for a ride there, perhaps not neccesairly (sp) Delerium, but then again it is the ONLY ride which fits those footers, layout, and area. There is no coaster here folks, look at Huss is all I am saying, heck, the ride above has greater capacity then WT..need I say more?

You know, this isn't something CP has done in the past but why not open another attraction during the middle of the summer? If it is enticing enough it may bring back people who only planned on going once to hit WT.

If both were announced and opened at the beginning of the season, or if both were announced but opened several weeks apart, I don't think it would have the same effect. Opened several weeks apart people might just wait until the second attraction is open. Opened together and once you have hit the two new rides there may not be a big incentive to return.

If this ends up being a significant ride (not necesssarily a coaster) then I think that the CP planners may be on to something.

I agree with you on your last comment there Cheif Wahoo. Building another significant ride in the middle of the season could signal something of high cost is coming. I mean you build another ride to let's say "expand your revenue" by pulling for people to return.

No quite what I was getting at. If you OPEN a new ride in the middle of the season, ala a Top Spin or something significant, people might return THIS season when perhaps they had not planned on returning until next year. It might also boost up attendance for Halloweekends.
Boy, I think whoever talked about the new Delerium, really shut this thread up, I think someone hit the nail right on the head!

Delerium? Hmm.. A giant spin-and-puke ride where people get soaked. Maybe somewhat logical, it is in fairly close proxmity to the other water rides. If I had to make a guess I'd say it was some Huss Giant seeing that PKI has a Giant Top Spin in Tomb Raider. What might be cool for MF island and to "one-up" PKI and SF for that matter would be to turn that island into "(is)Land of the Giants" (see the huss website). Is there enough room for this? It would be kinda cool to be cruising on MF speeding around all these giant rides. Any thoughts?

Hmmm, but after looking at the Huss website again (under Tech Specs), Delerium has four large footers, not three. I guess a smaller one could be built.
Actually, we only have proof of two footers. We don't know what is under that blue tarp, correct? I am just infering this from the picutres I saw.

No one here knows what's under the blue tarp. It's only speculation that it is another footer, it may be something else. It it's only another footer, why hide it? It could be that whatever is under to blue tarp is a big clue as to what is going into Area 51. After thinking about this for awhile, why would CP only build two footers and not build four if it really was a Delerium ride? Putting in a ride midseason to boost late season attendence sounds like a good idea, but there are not enough footers for a Huss Delerium. I don't think they will put in more footers anytime soon. I'm sticking with the theory that Area 51 is for something next season.

Unless you start first thing in the morning.

I think reason we don't see other footers, is because there isn't the right amount of room. Meaning they still have to do some things before they can put more footers in. I am sold on this Delerium Idea, and I think they are just waiting for the right time, to take some more trees down, or reroute a path so they can get the other footers in.

Delerium- I don't quite understand the concept of thise ride.... so the things just swing back and forth and spin and you get wet???

I don't know what you guys are talking about. I saw 3 footers with my own eyes on opening day. Kicksthesky and robodud will verify that.

I think the Delerium on the HUSS website was just showing a possible theme you can get for the ride. In other words, I don't think it has to come with a water spraying thing. I really don't know how the whole ride works but I am sure it is thrilling. I was thinking that there is probably 3 footers right now and people probably can't see the 4th one. It could be right up by the fence so people might not be able to see it. I know that there was like one crack that someone got pictures from and so you could maybe only see pictures from that angle and that you might not be able to see a fourth footer because you just can't see it how the fence is. I believe that the last real thrill ride came in 1998 (Power Tower). But I think the Delerium would go better in the same flatride catagory as Chaos (1997). Just a few thoughts about it.

Chaos wasn't ready on opening day, I was there for 3 trips before all the parts had even arrived. Thankfully, my 4th trip there that summer was the day they opened it. Early morning they were attaching the last few cars to the wheel. There was no big ceremony or announcement whatsoever... it just started running mid-day.

Hmmmm. Delirium is a good idea, but there might be a few issues. First of all, the footers in Area 51 almost appear too small. Take a look at the LotGs map on the HUSS site, it gives a relatively good aerial depiction of a Delirium ride. The footers on the ride look almost like fuller foundations instead of footers, but who knows. Secondly, there would have to be a larger foundation in the center, a rather complex one for piping and machinery. None exists in Area 51 yet, and the site looks 'smoothed over' IMHO. It just seems to me that the central foundation would be poured first. But just my two cents.

And if there is a third footer, the three footers should form a perfect right triangle with two equal sides, according to the HUSS depiction (which admittedly isn't exactly an detailed schematic).

This third footer is beginning to sound a lot like the 2nd gunman on the grassy knoll. Now we have 2 conspiracies associated with the samd project at Cedar Point! :)

Snoopy Rocks! On Ice starts June 22--Do you think they'll let me drive the Zamboni machine?

I want to drive the Zamboni!

Under the tarp may be connections for electrical, sewer, water, etc. Im sure they wouldnt leave conduit or pipes with open ends exposed to the elements.
