I, too like Area 51. And I am really enjoying reading the speculation as to what this thing will be. Anyone wanna ante up some CP mechandise for a prize for the person who speculated right first? I don't own anything or I would contribute myself. Could be fun and I know you wanna feel the fun!

I would love to see a S&S launch at CP. Those are great rides. If we do get one, I hope they go higher than the older ones. Mabye 200 feet.

Why do you think S&S? You are aware that Hypersonic hasn't even opened yet this year, and that for reasons unknown to me anyway some third party modified the trains? The ride was down constantly. Does this sound like a ride Cedar Point wants?

Seeing the footers in person for the first time, I was surprised by the size of them and the space they occupy. A turnaround over the midway there would be very nice.

Jeff, I wasn't aware of all the problems that S&S was having with the Hypersonic. Now that you say that I highly doubt it will be S&S. In fact, I wouldn't be suprised if S&S ever has another ride at CP. Thanks for filling me in.

We were at the park today and were asking around.

The employees that we know say they don't know anything but what IS being built is a "secret".

I doubt a Skyride would be a "secret" unless they were trying to build hype and mess with our minds. I doubt the Skyride thing now.

Perhaps some type of Thrust air or launched coaster onto the island since there is room to build there which would be put to good use.

I also recall an employee mentioning the 450ft mark a year ago when they were talking about new coasters in the park.

Again, pure speculation.

Hey Jeff, maybe you can get some CP Area 51 t-shirts made with a cool logo and catchy phrase on it. I know I would buy one.

I'm sorry, but I don't take the word of seasonal employees. Sure, they know their jobs and they do them well, but why in the world would the silver tag folks trust them with "secret" info? What do the seasonals care about secrets if they'll be gone in the fall?

If these "footers" are for a large ride of some type, just how much of a head start on construction would 3 of them be? Wouldn't there be a lot more to put in? Why take out dodgems(other then for MIA) and leave empty space for the season? I would look for something there this year.

Although, it's not like they'll say anything on this msg board about what it is.

As for me, I think it'll be some sort of ride. Possibly a rather large ride. We'll find out soon enough though. Hold on (haha that's what CP says)!

What can I say other than my S&S theory is just a theory. Really, though, you can take almost any coaster type and fit into the area between Corkscrew, Iron Dragon, Magnum, and the Island.

Are we sure the only footers thus far are in "Area 51"? Could there be footers on the island that have been poured but are out of view?

I don't buy this skyride rumor at all. Why put footers in now for that? It has to either be for a new ride that is going to be installed this season (like Vertigo last year) or it's for something big that they needed to get a head start on. By big I not implying a coaster, just something that will take more than an off-season to construct.

Can't say a word. But it is fun listening to you guys. Keep it up.

I do recall someone on GTTP that checked with the City of Sandusky about building permits (or something of that nature) that gave clues to what either WT or MF was going to be. (Sorry my memory is just plain old bad). If it is public record and if they already pulled the permits, someone who lives close may want to check it out. Just a suggestion.

Although I may be a seasonal, there is one "rumor" and it is basically the exact same thing that all seasonals are talking about. I don't know if that rumor is true, but if the attraction is for this year, as some people have speculated on this board, I will be looking forward to watching it be constructed.

Cedar Point will be known as getting Arrow back on their feet. Cedar Point needs a sit down standard looper. Viper as been hailed for so long as the greatest, I'd really like to see CP change that.
