The Mysterious, possible footers

Does that mean they like to piss away money? I think not... to say that Cedar Fair spends conservatively would be an understatement.

Well, if they are really moving things like trees but aren't prepared to put them in their final destination, it wouldn't hurt to plant them somewhere temporarily.

...It wasnt until Thrust Air and Vertigo that we had any reason to complain...

Yes, but these are two new products that S&S has come out with recently. Their problems/incidents with these products don't sit well with potential buyers. Intamin has come out with several new types of coasters, but there hasn't been much that has gone wrong besides a little mechanical down-time.

I'm still saying that an Intamin Xcelerator is what would fit the best. Capacity is a major factor as to what goes into a park. 32-36 person trains fair much better with people moving through the lines than 8-10 person trains.

And as for it going in this year...I wouldn't count on it.

Maybe the footers are to move an exsisting ride over there. I know there only 3 footers we know of, maybe theres still 1 more . I'm guessing this is the new location for ocean motion. And when ( if ) they tear down the aquastadium CP will have some prime lakeshore space for something new...ahh its just a guess

Good point Dennick. Maybe that is what will go there. I heard somewhere that CP was wanting to make improvements by the beach. That is a possibility.

Coaster on island in 2003?

The Ocean Motion supports wouldn't fit those footers.

Unless you start first thing in the morning.

Dennick that's a great point. This would give them plenty of room for a woodie on the beach. I hope this happens!
Dennick just made one of the most logical points ive seen. I dont see CP getting another launch, espcially from intamin. They have gotten there last 2 coasters from them and I think we will see a different company or a different type of ride, i.e. wood. I also think the island would be better if the only thing on it was MF. Right now there is a fair amount of trees and its nice. Crowding it with another coaster would be a little much. I still say Dennick has a good point or has a better idea with adding another coaster along the beach.

On behalf of all CP employees....

I don't appreciate the people who post here saying well its not that, but keep guessing crap....if it isn' t that then where are you? Where is YOUR source? I dislike strongly the people here who are pretending to be "in the know" and that they have lunch everyday with Mr. Kinzel. And btw, seasonals know a lot more about CP than what some of you asses do...CP doesn't segregate those boundaries. So if you know, at least cite a source when saying what its not, other wise, keep your mouth shut!

Dennik I thought that as well. But if people are saying they "saw" footers or post-markings on Millennium Island, then that leads me to think other wise.

My thought on this is that if you look at Troika and Chaos you have a nice straight line w/ what used to be Dodgems.

"Your obssesed w/ that place aren't you?"

I am a proffesional contractor...and i know something about building...i know ANY flat ride does NOT use footers...they have a foundation. Only thing that could use these kind of footers is a rollercoaster...and this is a FACT...no speculation.
You folks aruging about the type of coaster that's going up will look pretty silly when you realize the truth. Those footers are for a sign to the new corporate restaurant going in that space.

I'll give you one clue, but you didn't hear it from me.....Stuckey's.

LOL! Stuckey's....that is a good one. Maybe Hardee's is making a comeback but INSIDE the park. Yeah, that's the ticket, a rotating Hardee's restaurant.

Sorry man, but I can tell you you don't speak for me (a former CP employee) and probably don't speak for the majority of current CP employees either. While I agree that too many people pretend to be "in the know," you are out of line with your attitude towards the people on this board. Many people here have much closer ties to people who really are "in the know" at Cedar Point than the seasonals do. I don't claim to be one of these people as I have absolutely no clue what they are building. But I can also say that I had absolutely no clue that they were building an double twisting impulse coaster last year when I actually did work there. Seasonals, for the most part do not know what is going to be built. Seasonals spread rumors, not just about what is being built, but about other things as well (who sleeps with who, etc). Why do you think there is so much "drama" at CP? Because seasonals talk alot - sometimes about things that they don't even know are true.

What would be cool is if the resturant was in the hamburger.....

Just wanted to post a link to the Microsoft Terraserver which gives a satellite view of the area we are all taking about. The picture is from October of 2000 - thus showing all of MF. I'm not going to guess what is going in on that spot, but you can clearly see there is a lot of potential to go out in several directions if they want to (ie over to the Island, into the parking lot, or down toward Troika and Chaos).
