The Mysterious, possible footers

I am speculating that it is a space theamed floating restarunt that revolves on a tower 400ft in the air. It will be called the nicer twister.

It might be the sky lift, but I thought that was for kids. not adults! Maybe the lift goes to the island and back on to Camp Snoopy on the other side? I just really can't see a kids ride from the MF side to the Gemini side. But I could be wrong! If the sky ride was adult size I can see the possibility.

~~~~~~~Jesus Freak~~~~
Im thinking CP's next coaster will be wooden, its been a long time since CP has had a new woodie!
See that limb out there, I'm going out further then that, here we go: A launched Intamin Woodie, now that may sound like it's not possible, but I've thought this one out. Here's my reasoning, to put any sort of lift structure anywhere close to the MF island would be hard, just do to the small spcace and amount of track. So they have to make it a launched, but they need a woodie, so Dick decides to try something totally new, and it gets raving reviews, and we all live happily ever after.
By the way, I didn't mention this anywhere else on the boards, but when I walked in the park Saturday AM, I saw Dick walking down the midway, asked him, and all he did was smile :) !!!
Launched woodie? Yeah, right after looping stand-up inverted woodie.
Why wouldn't they build a launched woodie? It makes perfect sense. Perfect. It could be launched by Dr. Emmett Brown's new flux capacitor and be named Voyage to the middle of next week.
Hey, if he's right he could always brag he told us so. (Cough)
Has anyone used paint (or another app) and drew the path a possible skylift would take on the CP map? If I'm picturing this correct, wouldn't the cable go over part of MF's track? I know the old lift went over CCMR but the train on MR was just going up the lift and moving slowly. MF would be moving somewhat fast and if any debris or objects were to fall from the possible new sky ride a serious injury could happen. I'm really stumped at what this could be.
I really don't think it'll be a sky ride. The layout and size of the footers don't support it. Same goes for, but not as much, for a slingshot ride. The pattern of the three footers aren't really symmetrical. The closest thing I could find out there that somewhat matches the layout, size and position of those footers are in the turnaround of this.
How do you draw that conclusion on three footers? If I took any three footers from any ride at the park I couldn't tell you in a million years what would be on them.
One thing I noticed this weekend was that they left the large trees on the lagoon side of the land. Not that something could not go over them or between them.
When I was riding the boat around the island I noticed stakes in the ground with orange on the top of them between the Iron Dragon and the employee break area. Maybe nothing, maybe something.
I also was looking at the sand on MF island. It's just dumped in a huge pile. I'd say it's more of a place just to hold dirt.
It would be funny if they were to hold a new type flower pot.
Yeah, I know it really is way to early to tell what those footers will support, but it's fun to speculate a bit.
Based on what we know we can rule out some rides. Wood coasters use many smaller footers with only two plates exposed that will attach to a large piece of lumber or angle iron. These footers are not like that so it's definitely not wood. Flat rides, a la Tomb Raider at PKI, use large concrete pads. Some rides like swinging ships have footers for support posts, but nothing like these. Of course, this could all be for something new that we haven't seen before.
Here's what we do know. There are three footers, two of which are about 100' apart with the third not in a position that is symmetric with the rest. A little interpolation leads me to believe that the ride layout in this location will be curved, probably a 180 turn. With considerations to the site's location in the park leads me to think that these footers will support the turnaround for something. The rest of the ride will come from the Troika/Chaos area and/or part of the Breakers parking lot and will go over the Midway. The rebar that is exposed in the footer, as is the template/spacer plate, is round in nature and looks like the ones used in WT construction. It's known that B&M, Intamin, Morgan, and S&S use round supports of this size. So basically it could be almost anything, but I'm leaning toward and S&S launch with a high banked turnaround behind the gray wall.
The wooden stakes with the orange "flags" are used to survey the land. You see them everywhere around a new housing devlopment to a new coaster. I remember closing day at Kennywood in 2000. I was waiting for the front seat on the Thunderbolt when I looked to my left and saw a series of those stakes. Nevertheless, that is the path Phantom Revenge takes when it comes out of the revine.
I guess from the Netherlands it's hard to judge the proximity between Area 51 and the former IMAX theater. ;)
So, are we unofficially-officially calling this place Area 51?
Or maybe SW51? Sorta following in the footsteps of Alton Towers and their SW (Secret Weapon) code names...
If it is going to be a sky ride (and I hope that it is), it most certainly can have a turn or curve in the course of it. I'm pretty sure BG Tampa has one. I rode it.
I was super before Superstew was cool!
I think there is a good chance it may be something from S&S. It could be something to make up for the loss of VertiGo. A Hypersonic would be cool but I don't know where ShiveringTim got the idea of one from the three footers. Anyway, I have my money on an S&S ride.
Well, I'm just as excited as all of you, if not more, but I really don't have any opinion on Area 51.
