The Most Hated Department???

Why was the CPPD hated by most?

------------------
I'm proud to be an alumni of the CPPD!!

Maybe if they were not pricks about so many things, like walking back from Louies for instance, when you are doing the right thing and not driving why arrest everyperson that might have tripped while going over the bridge. Hell they wanted to give me a test and I was coming back over the bridge from work with my uniform on and the stairs were wet and I slipped a little..........I mean COME ON!
Yeah, seriously, power tripping is not cool no matter who you are. I have met some CP police officers that were really cool, but its the stupid power trippy ones that ruin it for everyone and bring about the stereotype that CP Police Officers are all jerks. And there are way too many of them that do that...

On the contrary to popular belief, not all of the CP cops are "pricks" and lumping them all into one category isn't fair. Yes, I am biased because I'm dating a CP cop, but there are alot of great people on the department.
As a ride op, I can think back to alot of times when the CPPD has saved my a** and dealt with a difficult guest for me. Just let them do their jobs, and realize that a few bad apples doesn't ruin the orchard.

Well put Amanda! I was thinking the same thing...you know all the countless times I've been at FreeWay and had to deal with something. They were always there to help out.

And on a side-note...just because the police don't get to a situation in 2 seconds doesn't mean they don't care. As a guest, I would be more concerned seeing police run down the midway and not know what was happening than passing a couple - sure they might have a brisk walk, but it wouldn't alarm me in any way.

So the first time someone is killed walking home from Louie's who do you think will get the blame for that? The cops aren't there to make your lives miserable. They are there to protect the company, it's employees, and it's property.

So what they can harrass everyone that comes by the bridg for that reason. I made the stupid mistake of walking up the grass area of the bridge. I told them when they saw me i said hey sorry about that, and the guy went off on me. I think most of them need to relax. I understand t hey have a job to do but they need to take it only to a point.

You also have to think about the amount of stupid and drunk employees 3rd shift has to put up with everynight. Im sure there are a few that have a power trip but like Chief Wahoo said, they are there to protect us! And that they did one night when me and a few friends were returning from Louies. Im not going to get into it but after my call to 911, I had never seen so many cops come running. Both from Cedar Point and Sandusky.

Their hiding behind cars is no differnt from a State Trooper hiding along a highway trying to catch speeders. If your not doing anything illegal, then you shouldnt have to worry about them being there.

Im sure there are a few that are jerks but im not complaing, im glad we have them!

but wouldn't they perfer us to walk over driving, why punish us for trying to be safe by walking?!
Don't go to Louie's and you wont have any problems. CP should buy the place and tear it down.

If you're too drunk to drive, and can't get a sober ride, there is a safe alternative to walking where pedestrians are prohibited. It's called a taxi.

I have never had a problem comming from louies. I have stumbled alot but nothing to what would make a cop stop me. Ya tear it down and make it bigger. It dont matter to me cause i wont be there alot no more, but for everyone else that will be.

I am not taking a taxi from louies just to get back to commons. I see if you lived on point and had to get back, or even at the xmas party. The last night at louies there where cops everywere. The one yelled at my friend cause he was there to help someone home and some other issues that i wont put on here. He yelled at him saying he needed to go home. I think the night shift needs to take lessons on how to control there attitude sometimes.
Shoot i get more respect from a regular cop around here and even cleveland then i do at cedar point.

Hence, the "where pedestrians are prohibited" clause; I assumed folks were talking about the causeway.

Agreed... I have known too many people that waste an ungodly amount of money and time there...and they wonder where their paychecks go? Let's not even get into the subject of underage drinking...

Of course, Louie's isn't really the problem -- it's the large number of irresponsible, stupid people that go there that is.

I'd be that Cedar Point DOESN'T want to tear Louie's down. Think about it, if they did, people would still want to go out.. and they'd have to go farther away to do it, that means they'd have to drive there. So, would you rather have a lot of drunk people walking home, or driving?

Without Louies Cp would have a hard time keeping employees, that place is a major reason alot of people go back every year. You need a place to hang out unwind, have fun with your friends, and and kick back a few cold ones.

That's a pretty sad reason for choosing to go back to the same job year after year... Remind me that once I graduate from college, the local bar scene is the number one reason I should accept a job somewhere.
