Great. This is what summer has been reduced to. Been quite a while since we heard constant complaining about trims. Somebody call the whammmbulance...

Call me cynical, but I wonder if having half of the riders per hour on SV than it is listed at is actually making CP more money on FL passes.

CP all purpose problem solver- trims.

Dude... just shut up.

Someone asked if anyone has been on the ride with the trims and I have, so I responded. This is a forum about amusement parks and roller coaster. We are allowed to talk about a noticeable change in our favorite ride.

No need to be rude. I've also been on the ride when the trims engaged and the second half is just as great as it was when I rode back in April. Saying it actually ruined elements is just totally false, nothing is ruined.

There's a difference between discussing the differences and suggesting it's "ruined." The latter most certainly comes across as whining, which this community needs a lot less of.

Man, I'd hate to see what happens if one of these guys got e-stopped on the brakes for a couple minutes. Probably would need a refund on their platinum pass for the emotional stress.

I'm sure this "change" was designed at the drawing board and not an afterthought from the accident. It just activates depending on the speed of the train.

Excuse me??

I'm not allowed to say it directly, but I'm pretty sure you know exactly what you can go do.

It's my favorite ride, too, and I don't notice any difference. Even if there was, suggesting it's "ruined" or "BS" or whatever is severely entitled and obnoxious.

Ive been on it twice, really enjoyed it, but hearing about how others dont like it now with trims has changed my opinion now I wish I never liked it. Your opinion matters that much to me.

It’s ruined, tear it down.
Move the two working trains to Gemini to make it whole again.

I rode a total of six times between this past Friday-Sunday and they were my first rides. I never felt like the MCBR slowed it down, it just coasted through it. You really get pulled down the hill afterward and it still felt really fast during the second half. Just my experience but I can't compare it to before they returned to two trains.

Ride is pretty much still the same when trimmed. There is just one thing, the airtime going down the hill just after the trim is not near as robust. That's it.

Never said the ride was ruined. I was saying literally just a couple elements, like going off of the mid course, I didn’t get the pop of airtime, and the turn going into the structure didn’t have much airtime. Never said I was entitled to a ride without trims, so you definetly just pulled that out of nowhere. I still love the ride. What’s obnoxious is when I answer someone’s question based on a single experience I had and you go insulting and accusing everyone who discussed the trims of whining.

Just rode, and there is definitely still work to be done with the programing and blocking.

The clock on the monitor is set at 85 seconds once the train rolls in ( which is still 20-25 seconds behind the dispatched train to clear the station block) . The crew was hauling ass and we were set to go at 40 seconds on the clock. Looked around and thumbs up everywhere, no more checking restraints.

Except we sat there for 40 seconds. Crew did a great job of trying to hype up the ride, but we weren't dispatched till the train ahead hit the final break run, and the clock hit the 85 seconds. Wasn't just a one off, after a few more observations they could never dispatch the load train until the other came back.

Seems like the ride is not set up to run 3 trains with the current programming, or the mid corse is set to trim only.

That said...,If it ever gets blocked correctly and can run 3 trains, with the current crew it would be a capacity monster.

Speaking of the trim, It grabbed but felt the 2nd half was just as fast as when I rode it Trim less. (There might have been a small difference in the MCBR drop but that's about it.) The first half was even wilder, so if you feel the trim grab it just means you just witnessed greatness on the first half! ;)

Two trains now?

It was two trains when I rode it last night. I noticed the same thing about dispatch. I didn't pay attention to the clock, but we sat there ready to go for a while until the other train hit the brakes.

I also felt a bit of mid-course trim, but I might be of the unpopular opinion that a tad bit of trim made the second half more enjoyable than my early pre-opening day rides. I like ejector air, but have my limits, and I'm in that apparent minority that finds Magnum almost painful these days.

During the First Rider Benefit and Passholder Preview, the end of Steel Vengeance started to remind me of Magnum's ending before I followed the "wedge your hands between thigh and restraint" thing I thought someone else mentioned on here. Maybe I just stapled myself in better or something, but last night's ride gave me all the enjoyment of prior rides without feeling the need to brace myself against the ride. I'm good with the wilder first half and slight trim at MCBR if last night's ride is the result.

Pretty much exactly what he said. I'm no coaster expert, I don't pay attention to the mechanical sounds or functions or timing, or anything like that. I just ride. But, I do know the sound of the MCBR and I did hear it last night. I don't believe I felt anything actually physically slow the train down, but I had so much more fun on the rest of the ride than I did on my first rides at the benefit. My thighs were beat up pretty bad that night. And while I love SV and think it's amazing, it was enough that I wouldn't rush back to do it again. I went last night with out of town friends, and it was a much better ride for me than in April. I've got no complaints. :)

We rode it opening day first thing in the morning 2 train operation (before the bump) with no trim and rode it again yesterday at park open and park close. As others said I noted a little noise from the mcbr this time around but no noticeable "grabbing". If it takes any speed off it is minimal. Our ride about 10:50pm last night was awesome not sure if it was just because it was dark and I couldn't see where we were going but it felt way more intense. Great ride either way. Plan to do the running of the bulls again this AM to get a short wait
