Hi everyone, first time poster here. I will be heading to the point next week to get my first ride on Steel Vengeance. I just rode my first RMC yesterday in Twisted Timbers, and while it was a fantastic ride, all that airtime abused my thighs. I'm assuming sv is going to be a similar airtime monster so I was wondering if y'all had any tips for riding this thing that doesn't punish my thighs. thanks
CP just announced a planned closure of SV for part of the day today (for anyone at the park today, Raptor has Early Entry as a substitute). Last time they announced a planned closure, it was to get the coaster to two-train operations. I'm hoping this means what I think it means...
I mean, I was extremely happy that CP got 2 trains going just in time for Coastermania. They didn't have to do that, but they did.
In fact, I imagine more non-enthusiasts complain about the reduced operations than enthusiasts, as many guests might not read the blog and thus might not be aware that SV is having issues, while guests who are more aware of what the park puts out (not all of whom are enthusiasts, but I'm guessing a very high proportion of enthusiasts hear about this compared to the proportion of guests overall who read the blog and Twitter) come in knowing that the ride is having issues and aren't taken by surprise by the slower operations.
Do you think the average guests knows or cares what a MCBR is or Blocks are?
You could say that some guests heard a snippet on the news something about an accident and it’s not running fully, but normal people would go to the park with that knowledge expecting that. Hence not being entitled, and running to guest services to complain.

What is the definition of "enthusiasts" in terms of a roller coaster? Someone who only rides that particular coaster?
I could have ridden SV 20+ times Sunday, but it kicked my butt each time, all 4 times, yet it is still in my top 3 ever - am I not an enthusiast?
Now a 29 time Steel Vengeance survivor! Two time Winter Chill Out dude.

But I would think that the average guest wouldn’t realize there was a third train running as opposed to two. One train is dispatched and another completes the course a few seconds later. Must be the same train, right?
They might notice if they see an extra train not running.
Still, I haven't heard as much enthusiast moaning about one (or even two) train(s) as you make it out to be. There might be some "oh this sucks" type of complaint but I think most of those enthusiast complaints come from people who realize that there are technical reasons that the ride is running at reduced capacity and that CP would use another train if they could, as opposed to simply bashing on the park and feeling "entitled" to full-capacity operations.

A buddy of mine uses the grab handles to pull himself down into the seat, and he says that helps him a lot. In general, if you're not wanting your thighs to bear the burden, using the restraint to pull yourself down into the seat is a good strategy.
Thanks for the advice, I will have to try this. I normally love airtime, but I had never experienced the forcefulness of RMC ejector.
