Steel Vengeance

I'm in love with this ride. Love the trains, love the name (as more time passes), and loving the last lap of the layout. Though despite seeing the renderings, my brain still has trouble computing the outward bank turn. The sensations that are going to be felt going through that element are going to be awesome. And after a hot summer day, this thing is going to be epic.

Cedar Point has hit it out of the park.

The ride looks awesome. That being said, has anyone on here ridden one or more of these RMC hybrids? Smooth? Rough? Jerky? Just curious because I've never been on one. You would think it would be smooth but with an old wooden structure it makes me wonder.

For those who were at the park during the revealing, did they give away t-shirts? I saw some people wearing what seemed to be the same sized Steel Vengeance t shirt.

I got the foam hay but left once everyone was done on stage speaking.

I just hope they have this jamming in the station!

DRose, you have nothing to worry about. I've been on 3 RMCs (Goliath, Storm Chaser & Lightning Rod) and they are nice and smooth. Any discomfort comes from the restraint and the fact that they are intense rides. I have a feeling Steel Vengeance will be wild but not in an uncomfortable way.

Smooth as glass. The fact that many of them rest on wooden structures seems to have little effect.
Are they intense? Yes. Seriously, some of the transitions and inversions seem impossible and as you look ahead at what's coming it's always a big "oh hell no". So maybe for the timid, it's time to replace roughness with intensity.

Adam, I'm in agreement about that outward bank. Trust and believe that it will be forceful in an unnatural way. I don't know if you've tried Lightning Rod, but it has what's termed a wave turn. Or two. It's best described as an upward bank to the left then a crest that banks to the left while turning right. Outlaw Run has one of those but its lower to the ground, where LR's elements are way high in the air. I thought the height might relieve some of the awkward force there, but it didn't. It was thrilling, and actually frightening. With all that's going on with Steel Vengeance, I'm a little surprised that one of those wasn't included. In addition to a barrel roll drop, it's about the only element in the RMC bag-o-tricks that's missing.
This new snake dive seems like it will be some thrilling fun, though. Flipping over, then diving while flipping back? Holy crap.
And six good hops as a final approach to the brake run? Yes, please.

At least they didn't try to put a loop (Son of Beast failure) in it.

No they were selling them for $25 each. They are already over charging on stuff to recoup money for meanstreak. I would never pay more then $15 for a $1 t-shirt.

Makes me feel better, yeah that shirt is certainly not worth 25 bucks.

Aw, Dennis Urban, you know as well as I do that SoB's loop was the only successful thing on that ride!

So... will a mid-course brake full stop be sought-after like a rollback is on TTD? :)

Am I the only one that doesn't like the trains? Lol. I know I'm being nitpicky but I was just wondering. That doesn't take away from the fact that the ride itself is going to be AWESOME!

1:46 on the POV, 3rd lap wave turn appears to fall away slightly as you exit it, thus fabulous air time (I hope). So tired of safe, much repeated B&M math turns.

Wow! Just wow! That's my reaction to this new ride known as steel vengeance. Can't believe some people are complaining about the name. To me, it sounds like the movie Die hard with a vengeance. I know that was korny, but oh well. I love watching the animation on this ride. as well as the stats that come with this ride! The last time I remember a ride breaking this many records was when Cedar Point unveiled Millennium Force back in 2000. My favorite part about this ride is that this outlaw doesn't let up speed until the mid-course brake run. After that, yes it does get crazier, but I'm guessing the speed lets up towards the end of the ride. As TTD 120 said, this ride is a true homerun for Cedar Point.

Interesting tid bit I noticed that probably holds no weight:

In Planet Coaster's video on their Facebook page you can see a flat ride next to Steel Vengeance.

The ride would pretty much be sitting on Perimeter Rd and the official renderings include no such, so as I said it's probably not a teaser or hinting at anything to come.

Likely was just thrown into a random park and shown off. Can't recreate Cedar Point fully yet cause some rides have yet to be offered.

They need to fix those parts in the track in the POV that are causing the "Ka-Chunk" sound... Bad weld?

Actually... RMC steel rides have a similar "Ka-Chunk" sound in real life. And a little "rat-a-tat-tat." They're not quiet rides.

Judging by the Planet Coaster version when it releases a train from there (after making it a block brake / upping the acceleration/release speed) , the final run will be slow rolls and fake stalls.

Of course i think they will release the train faster in real life from there but compared to flying past the brake line, its a different experience.

I have been on Goliath and absolutely loved it. I would equate it to Maverick. It is incredibly smooth yet it whips you around. Nothing like the graceful B&M's.

No splash down and no tunnel?!! Lame!!!111! ;P

Vengeance is a killer name and I love it. Its easy to understand why the steel moniker would be added on to help distance the ride from the concept of the former wood Mean Streak. This new coaster can now join a long line of other rides sharing a similar name. Steel Force, Steel Eel, Steel Phantom, Steel Venom, Steel Dragon, Steel Hog, Ride of Steel. I think the name suits the ride and Frontier Town just fine.

This is the most excited I've been about a CP coaster since Magnum XL200 was built and it looks to be better than all the others. I imagine the park will have another Golden Ticket award or two on the shelf in the coming years.
