In the 90's at one point, Cedar Point printed up MagnumXL200 t-shirts showing a hand pointing a 357 Magnum gun at you with the name MagnumXL200 on it. It probably a little controversial so Cedar Point didn't print any more. So with that said the MagnumXL200 name didn't come from the Magnum P.I. TV show. As for Mean Streak, there was a time Cedar Point had wooden cut out charters at the front entrance of each ride holding a height stick that looked like a candy cane. Blue Streak had a cut out of a super hero with a cape and a big B on his chest holding a lighting bolt in one hand. Mean Streak had a cut out of a western gold prospector with bullet holes in his hat and a kind of mean grin on his face. So if you didn't have a good day finding gold you'll have a Mean Streak inside of you also. So that's where the Mean Streak name came from. So everything I said in one of my post is not made up. BTW MagnumXL200 had a charter that kind as resembled a Star Wars storm trooper. Don't know the meaning behind that???

They could have named it Steel Maverick, because it goes with the theme they have for Steel Vengeance about reclaiming the guests in Frontiertown but the name sounds cooler, and the track is steel.
Makes no sense at all. Maverick is a steel coaster. Steel Maverick is a "10" on the dumb name scale.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

Per Mr Kinzel, Magnum's name was chosen to emphasize it was a record breaking coaster: Magnum (large), XL (also large), 200 (really tall). Any T-shirts printed would have been done after the fact.

The Mean Streak name was a play on Blue Streak, nothing more.
I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.
EXCITING NEWS (For Enthusiast only)
Looked like they had a little "pull through" device on the track attached to wheels. Looks like there is a wire frame going around the device about arms length around, so i can't think of what else this would be for. Guessing they will do a another pull through ones the trains get there.

Just got back from a quick weekend trip to Texas for a wedding, during which I was able to take a few hours and stop at Six Flags Fiesta Texas. I took a couple spins on Iron Rattler, not as many as I would've liked but I only had 3 hours to spend in the park. Anywho, needless to say I loved this bit of RMC goodness and it really has me excited for Steel Vengeance!
Side note: I have now ridden 3 RMC conversions. Twisted Colossus, Storm Chaser and Iron Rattler. I will admit that of the 3 I enjoyed the trains on Iron Rattler the most. These are the Gerstlauer trains. I loved the T lap bar compared to the staple RMC uses. I know SV is getting an all new train design from RMC so I'm hoping for some improvement to the restraints as well as any other improvements these 2nd Gen trains will offer.
