That should tell you how much I go to the water park. I haven't been in there for years. I should at least just take a walk through it sometime. I didn't know there were sandy areas already in the water park.

Generally thats how this place works. My thread may even get dropped once Walt & Jeff upload the official info/press release. There's a topic to discuss the thoughts to the announcement, then after the announcement they usually add a new topic..just saying.

Yeah, there are at least 2. One with some Lucifer-created dark sand that burns your feet, and another with normal, not dumb sand in the newer section of The Park Formerly Known as Soak City.

Anyhoo, that still leaves a question as to what the slide complex will actually be named? Where will it be located? I presume where the GoCarts were based on TTD in the background. How tall will it be or record breaking? Is challenge park solved (gone)? Will there be a new entrance to CP Shores?

It's kind of a strange way to announce*, but it makes sense. For what I imagine won't be a headline-worthy cap ex project (relative to a 200+' coaster), they can tease out the announcement over the course of the day.

Anyone in the area should go to the announcement, given that it sounds like there will be more info there. Plus, hot dogs.

*I mean, they're going to have to add new Instagram pictures in groups of 3 to avoid ruining the mosaic (is that the right term?).

I actually plan on it. I truly hope it brings everything together. If the event is 2 hours long, I'm sure there will be a lot of information. Possibly closing with a sneak peak of what's in store for MS?

I'm not crazy about the new name, it doesn't roll like "Soak City." But I'll get used to it.

So, it looks like the new kids' slides are going into/around the existing kids area to the west of Magnum's lift. And the new drop slides are going in just to the east of the lift. They're using less real estate than I thought they would.

The new food sounds spectacular. It would be cool if they had samples tonight.

I mean:

• Fresh-baked flat breads (caprese, buffalo mac & cheese and more)
• Farm salad options (crispy chicken BLT, Asian chicken and chicken Caesar)
• Pesto-glazed grilled chicken sandwiches

Who wouldn't like any of these

I saw that there will be a new poolside bar. That makes me very happy!!

I wonder if that means a second one, or that they're replacing Bubbles.

Swim-up bars. For when you want to be absolutely positive that you're swimming in urine.

I'm not too impressed by the new slides, at least as far as I can ascertain from the announcement. I've seen better slides on cruise ships. I really need a suitable replacement for the speed slides before I'll be thrilled.

This is good news, but at the same time I think the waterpark expansion combined with 2 major resort hotel expansions makes it less likely we will see RMC MS in '17.
