It was a friendly warning buddy, so calm down. Those of us who understand the rules around here and general code of conduct have some responsibility to make these things known. If I see something that probably shouldn't be going on, I offer my insight (as do others).

This topic has been brought up twice and is been a problem every year. These things are not taken lightly by the park and it hurts our reputation with the park when we let these things go unchecked.

So no, I will not simply skip the thread to avoid knowing these things in advance. I could care less if I know something in advance.....but that's beside the point. This isn't speculation or guessing. It's someone leaking possible information the park probably doesnt want us to know. It does not fly here and it never will.......simple as that.

I admit I know nothing about how popular each attraction in Challenge Park is, but Ripcord (and skycoasters in general) seem so 1990s. If one ride was saved, I would think the most recent addition (Skyscraper) would be the one.

Plus, if they do move any of them, the price will go up like $15.

And why move it when they could (given that they would have the room for it) go with one of bigger skycoaster models?

I have the same feelings about skyscraper, why move a four person model when they could get a neat 8 or 16 double arm model from the manufacture (Gravity Works Inc.)?

There's a subset of enthusiasts who certainly welcome such information. This subset is less concerned with park politics or any perceived "reputation" with the parks, and more concerned with simply having fun riding coasters without concern for the business itself.

Okay, but that doesn't make it right. If they want access to that kind of community, then they can find a site that doesn't mind these kinds of issues. It seems that enthusiasts have become more demanding in the past few years and show very little appreciation. "Oh you want to throw us a huge event that's been free for many years and give us multiple chances to attend the openings of new coasters? Well, let's just award that with more demand and more complaining. Oh, and when we have people in the community that have inside info that the park hasn't released yet, we'll just go ahead and tell everyone about it. Because screw you that's why."

I'm just glad that there has, recently, been a realization of this issue by many enthusiasts and parks. It only takes the selfish needs of a few bad eggs to ruin the whole bunch.

That is the old way, really. I haven't attended an enthusiast event in a few years, so no park sanctioned ERT for me. However, down here in Orlando, I have befriended many of the ride ops at the various parks. I can't remember the last time I waited to ride Seven Dwarfs for instance. I just wait for a friendly face to be at the Fast Pass entrance. Or entering the VIP entrance for Dragons, get front row on both sides within five minutes, and buy my friend a drink later on at City Walk. Or re-riding some of the Beemers many times over by filling empty seats wth the blessing of your ride op friends. That is the new, even better ERT.

Being friends with the front line people is often much more beneficial than being friends with the executives.

From what I have been told, RipCord and SkyScraper will be relocated inside the main park. Where? I don't know. The go kart tracks will be removed and the miniature golf will see its last season in 2016.

As for what is replacing it, I've been told a few things, including Soak City expansions, dark ride, and an eventual wooden roller coaster, not all in this area, of course. Again, take all of this with a huge grain of salt. I consider my source very knowledgable, but for the sake of their employment, I can't divulge too much more. I hate to even chime in this conversation but alot of people now seem to get their kicks and take the element of surprise, blab about what they know, and ruin it for everyone. These are the same people that go see Star Wars: the Force Awakens on opening night just for the sake of posting spoliers on Facebook. Truly pathetic.

But since the topic has been created, I can only see Ripcord (if it is in fact being relocated inside the park) going into one area of the park that would accommodate it, and that is unfortunately the Antique cars area in FT. Hoping this ISN'T the case since the park gave notice ahead of time so I could get my last rides in on Turnpike Cars and take pics for history's sake. Maybe that other poster can paste that image over there and see if it fits. We shall see.

I think it could fit in kiddie kingdom or possibly down in camp snoopy if it can swing over the water.

I'd hate to see KK go, but those rides are probably expendable.

Removing the Antique Cars for rip cord would make me seriously consider not renewing our families platinum passes for next season and I love the new biggest tallest coasters as much as anyone. Leave FT and the beautiful shadiness of antique cars alone.

So you're still entitled, and think you're better than everyone else because you know some ride ops. That's super classy. Do you throw tantrums when you don't get this arrangement elsewhere? Do you feel pretty awesome about displacing tourists, the people who save for years for that one big trip? You're a real role model.

I can't speak for Cedar Fair, but I do know that I leak some incomplete information about future plans, on purpose, about my business to get people talking. There is some marketing interest in these "back door" stories, so often heard from the Dippin Dots Guy. These are given out freely as incomplete information, because it is available from other sources.

This isn't some top secret, security dependent, tell you I have to kill you, type information.

It doesn't matter if the information is important or not. If you hear something that the park hasn't talked about yet, you shouldn't talk about it. It can get you into trouble and as discussed before, it can tarnish the relationship between the park and enthusiast groups and websites. It just takes one bad apple to spoil the whole bunch. You may like to get your 15 minutes of fame by being the one who knows something, but it's really not cool to do that.

But it does matter. If the information is important, they will keep a tight lock on it. Otherwise starting rumors, based on partial information, is not necessarily damaging to the company.

No relation is going to be tarnished based on hearsay and speculation, especially in a situation where speculation is the same as advertising.

Bottom line is that if the owners of this site do not want this type of information disseminated on their site the it is settled. We all may feel one way or another but I like this site and I respect the people who run it. If they feel like this type of talk jeopardizes their relationship with park officials then I will have nothing to do with discussing or spreading said information... After all I am just a guest that they allow to participate here.

Exactly. Jeff and Walt have made it clear they don't want this type of stuff on their website. Their website, their rules, plain and simple.
