After riding Dominator recently, I realize just how bad Rougarou is comparatively. Rougarou feels forceless compared to Dominator. The higher heartline doesn't help Rougarou either.
CP Top 5: 1) Steel Vengeance 2) Maverick 3) Magnum 4) Raptor 5) Millennium
Mako from Sea World and Shambhala from Portaventura are probably my favorite two color schemes. So unique.
1999: First visit
Halloweekends- Harvest Fear, Tombstone Terror-Tory
Ride Operations- Professor Delbert’s Frontier Fling

Interesting. I rank Rougarou right above Dominator. Although that's probably because I factor in a lot of other things. For example I love the creative name. I also rank it a lot higher simply because of how awful Mantis was and how much of an improvement I think Rougarou is over it.
2018- Raptor
CP Top 5- 1)MF 2) Maverick 3) Gatekeeper 4) Top Thrill Dragster 5) Raptor
I find the drop on Rougarou better, but Dominator was way smoother, felt a lot more powerful and forceful, and felt way longer. It felt a lot more original too.

Count me as a Rougarou fan. I like it better overall than Dominator and Batman: The Dark Knight, about even with Bizarro. The first half of Rougarou until the MCBR is fantastic in my opinion, I love the lagoon and the first 3 inversions. I haven't been on any other floorless models yet, but I'll be on Hydra in August and Kraken Unleashed next spring. I've heard that Superman at Fiesta Texas is the best floorless, not sure I'll ever get on that though.
CP Coaster Top 10: 1. Steel Vengeance (40 rides to date) 2. Top Thrill Dragster (191 launches to date, 4 rollbacks) 3. Magnum XL 200 4. Millennium Force 5. Maverick 6. Raptor 7. GateKeeper 8. Valravn 9. Rougarou 10. Gemini
Dominator is my favorite, but up until the break run Rougarou is unique, forceful, and fun. Honestly if they had just adjusted the ride afterwards it may have been one of the best floorless coasters out there. It is middle of the pack as far as rankings go for CP coasters. However, at most other parks it would still be considered as one of the top coasters.
Rougaroo is running really smooth and fast, don't know if it's wheels or what. No head banging after the mcbr.
New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
I used to love Dominator. We rode it on Wednesday down at Kings Dominion and could not wait to get off; tried both trains they had running just to be sure. What was once smooth is now a vibrating mess from the pullout of the initial loop all the way to the brake run.
Promoter of fog.
Strange, I found Dominator completely smooth and glossy, while inconsistent find Rougarou had a bad rattle, especially on the dive loop and last half.

Yeah, I was shocked at rougaroo smoothness.
Usually it's a rough mess after the brake run.

^^ I know it's a thing that can be influenced by many factors; wheels, mainly. If it means anything, it was 100 degrees (literally) and very humid; I'm not sure what that can do or does to a B&M's smoothness factor.
Promoter of fog.
Rode Bangarou twice on Friday when it was 81F I believe and was still banging, but I am restricted to row 3 or 4 for the double buckles. Had the not so bright idea to cushion my ears with my fingers and just made it worse.
I find it just tolerable but probably will restrict myself to just one ride per trip until I can fit on the seats further back were some of you claim it is smoother.
Wish all OTSRs could be converted to Maverick's new restraints, love those.
I haven't ridden many floorless coasters but Kraken was far and away my favorite followed by Batman Knight Flight. Rougarou is a VERY distant third. I'll add Hydra this fall and I'll re-experience BKF as Dominator in August.

I mean, Dominator does have height and speed on its side, so of course it's going to feel a little more forceful, specifically with the cobra roll in the middle. And Dominator is 300 feet longer, so yeah, it's gonna feel longer.
What I love about Rougarou is the difference in inversions from Dominator, even if it's 2 that are different. The dive loop and specifically the inclined loop are more fun to me than interlocking corkscrews and a cobra roll. The most underrated element on Rougarou for me is the little airtime turn you get before rising to the MCBR. It feels like the most out of control part of the track.
I have ridden a few floorless including Scream at SFMM. Dominator is still may favorite floorless. A couple years during Spring Break I rode it 37 times over the course of two days vs. maybe 3 times on I305 and any other ride at KD. Spring Break this year the park was packed. I only rode it 4 times due to the lines.(did not feel the need to Fast Lane to the every other year visit. Other then some minor vibrations or wheel wear, I have not had any problems. I always ride the last row right most seat whenever possible.
As for Rougarou I was fortunate enough to be invited to its media day. I believe I rode it 27 some times that day. Since then has it gotten rougher? Yes, negligibly in my option. Other then the those to spots on the course were there is a quick left to right transition (which one can prepare for), I find the ride to be quite similar to Dominator in its re-readability. Again, I ride in the last row and I usually end up in rightmost seat.
I like Rougarou due to the uniqueness of the elements for a floorless. It's a must ride whenever I am at the Point.
I would love to see Green Lantern (CFNA Chang at KK) would be like if it were to be converted to a floorless. Due to its similarity to Mantis....er...Rougarou (but taller and one more element).
I believe Mantis held the distinction of being the inverting steel coaster where none of the elements repeat. Only one of everything.
I always enjoyed the Mantis/Rougarou design. The flat turns at the end aren't as thrilling from a seated position, but the rest of the ride is still very fun.

I agree on this when I road it I noticed the same thing

Since Great Adventure is my home park, this is an active topic in the local forums for the park. Only issue is we already have Bizzaro/Medusa as the floorless. I think Green Lantern would be 110% more fun to ride if converted. Its usually a coaster I skip while at the park since the ride experience for the stand up is so bad, at least for me it is. its uncomfortable, shaky and bangs your head around almost the entire ride
