I do have to admit, I love Rougarou's layout. The drop is fun, and I love the dive loop. Everything pre-MCBR keeps speed really well. Then after the MCBR it feels like a totally different ride. There are some awesome transitions and corners. Two great coaster aspects in one ride!
RMC Mean Streak: 215ft Tall, 75mph, 4 inversions. 2020)ALL BLACK B&M Flying Coaster on Millennium Island. 2023 or 2025) Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter like Takabisha
Okay this is disturbing. I have a couple of friends that have heard through the grape vine that Rougarou is on the chopping block already. Has anyone else heard this? If these rumors are true, why can't they just remove an element that causes headbanging on people instead of the whole ride? Most of the time when people complain about Rougarou, it's after the mid-course brake run in the corkscrew. Please Cedar Point, don't remove this ride!
Even back when it was still Mantis, I loved the ride. It was my 5th favorite at Cedar Point. I like it even more now, and it had a short line last year when I last visited (albeit, that was the final weekend before Halloweekends/Mean Streak Burial, so not a ton of people in the park at all), so that's also a plus.
We could talk (bicker) for the next 17 pages about how line length is not equal to popularity, but let's please not. That said, I'd be very interested to see what ridership is like now and compare it to the last few seasons of Mantis. I really wish Cedar Point still published their ridership numbers.
PS, I adore Rougarou. Such a fun ride. Don't care for the color scheme, though. Wish they would have done something similar to Mako at Sea World. A dark blue and purple two-toned track with the teal supports would have looked so sharp and given the park a bit more variety instead of another red/orange. I know that there is a lot of blue too, but purple is completely absent from the coasters.
Cant you imagine this twisting over the lagoon?
