I don't know exactly where I would rank it but I'm really enjoying Rougarou. I find if I lean my head back the banging doesn't happen so much. I really couldn't ride it as Mantis. I rode twice last season and both times I really thought I was going to pass out.
I've ridden rougarou more times than I have ever ridden the mantis, so that must be a sign that I like it. Yet pipe scream outranks rougarou on my thrill list.
Rougarou at night with the red flood lights is amazing. The second half of the ride in darkness and last row is out of control awesomeness. :)
Anyone on here like towards the front or very front? In my opinion, first row feels like you're flying through the course!
Front row is definitely best for it, it is worth the wait every time. However I was at the park yesterday and they were assigning rows and when I asked to sit in the front he refused stating he had to put us in the back to fill the train, the thing was there was a line behind us that could have filled the row.
There are signs in the queue leading up to the station that let you know "Due to the popularity of this ride, you may be assigned to a row".
But that does suck when they easily could have filled it with the people waiting behind you. It's not hard to yell out "I need 4 people for the next train". People get excited that they can go ahead of everybody and get on ASAP.
That was an improper loading procedure. Yes, they are assigning rows, but they should still let you sit where you want if you have a preference. This is not Carowinds...
Yeah, I like sitting in the back and they never refused my request.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
In my experience, they generally allow waiting for the front of the back, the exception being Raptor when the front line is all the way to the door and no one else can get into the station.

Instead of filling the station, whoever works crowd control at Rougarou asks almost everybody how many people are in their group. Just let them pile in, and then fill rows accordingly. It's really not hard.
I tend to agree. Just let several trains worth in. With these bigger rides, if they're hitting interval, the flow of people through the turnstile shouldn't have to stop much. It would be easier for the load side hosts to check group sizes and pair up riders in adjacent rows in between trains, but that can't happen anymore since they make them stand on red dots or pressure mats. I cringe when I see like two or three single riders in a row on Magnum that should have been paired up. Three empties per train is almost 10% of your capacity.
When they try to group from turnstiles, sometimes people don't listen or they want to ride with someone else and seats go out empty anyway which is exactly what they're trying to avoid. Some people are really good at getting things filled up and in time for interval, but most aren't.

I'm heading to Cedar Point tomorrow and Monday. I was just wondering how long Rougarou's lines usually are?
Coaster Bucket List: 1) Fury 325 2) Leviathan 3) Intimidator 305 4) Kingda Ka 5) Formula Rosa
Usually on Sunday's, I've never waited more than 15 minutes for it in the middle of the day. Now that some of those IROC rules aren't implemented anymore (such as the gate rule), the crew really keeps the line moving.

Are you wondering how long the lines are? Once you've figured that out, you can either solve that wondering by learning or go about your life blissfully wondering why you were wondering about wondering.

I wonder which path I will choose.

Finally got down to ride Rougarou... THe change is a definite improvement for me... Mantis was in my bottom 3 in the park, Rougarou is up in the middle of the pack for me... Much easier to enjoy the layout when you aren't having to worry about riding defensively...
I don't really notice the floorless aspect of the ride unless I'm in the front row... The other rows, it wouldn't make a difference if there was a floor or not...
I was finally able to ride Rougarou on Monday, and it was terrible. No better than Mantis for me. My head hit both sides of the shoulder harness really hard twice. I don't recall what row we were in, but my niece loved it and said it wasn't painful at all in the same row. The only way I'd ride it again is to try the front row out. I think I maybe would have liked it if the restraints had been changed, but as is, it's still a loser for me. Just glad we rode it after the rain when it was a walk-on.
Small disclaimer: I actually really hated Gatekeeper during this visit too which is unusual, so I feel like I'm starting to dislike all coasters that have inversions (except Maverick of course).
Front row on Rougarou is the best. I can't stress enough how much I like this ride.
It's crazy how your body can handle Maverick well, but not Gatekeeper on your last visit.
I wonder why that is too. I thoroughly enjoy the roughness of Blue Streak, Magnum, Maverick, and my favorite coaster of of all time, The Beast. But yet I'm starting to not like GK, always hated Raptor, and I didn't even enjoy Banshee....so I don't get it. I think it's the inversions and the feeling of being compressed (?) if that makes sense. I don't get that feeling on Maverick. It is the only coaster I've ever ridden with that type of restraints which maybe has something to do with it. I will definitely try out front row on Rougarou sometime though.
