I didn't like it. At all.

It's a waste of money and space, IMO.

Overall this is a great Improvement to a ride that was uncomfortable for a lot of fans. The only thing I wish they would do is bring back the fog that they had when it first opened back in May.

Mantis was for me, a coaster I rode once a year, just to ride it. Last year, I actually rode it twice...my first trip to CP, and the last weekend to get my "Last Stand" button. Now, it's a "must ride" every visit.

No Howling for long time. When it first opened it would play all night. I would hear it in the marina. It sounded cool hearing it at 3:00 AM, and it was loud!

I thought with Ouimet the theming they do add would at least be maintained. I'm disappointed that the theming was so quickly unreliable. Ultimately, I know Cedar Point is not a theme park, but some of the theming made for more enjoyable rides (especially those Maverick lights in the tunnel).

I've only gotten 2 rides on it this summer but I seriously enjoyed my rides with very little head banging. No worse then I've experienced on other B&M's. I think it was a very smart move as it took a ride I would only hit once every other season or so. To a ride I will ride once a trip.

It was all but confirmed in a news article the Vortex in California will be getting this treatment. One can assume Vortex at Carowinds will be in 2017/18. Those rides intrigue me even more the Mantis just due to their small layouts. It almost makes more sense (in my opinion) to relocate the ride at Carowinds to MiA and do the conversion during the move and replace that ride with a bigger floorless or even wing coaster.

If I had to rank, which I don't really do I would say it's a top 5 ride at Point.

When the park comes up with an obscure, unsure how to pronounce name in another language instead of just naming it in English, even going so far as to promote it with having a character representing that coaster walking around Cleveland, I think there is a level of expectation that there will be some themed elements to said ride. I would hope that the elements that need fixed are on their "to-do" list.

I read more than I comment so most of you won't recognize my screen name, but I had the chance to ride Vortex at Carowinds last summer on my honeymoon and in my opinion, the layout was boring. It's so small compared to Mantis. I'd be curious as to how giving it the floorless treatment would add additional life back into the ride with such a basic layout. If it has potential for profit, it's obviously worth the investment. I personally would still feel that the ride is subpar either way.

A smaller park gets a marketable attraction for most likely a fraction of the cost of a new coaster of similar size, also an attraction that can have 2 train operation. An a larger park can replace it with something "better." Either a larger sitdown looper/floorless or maybe a wing coaster.

I legitimately like it. It's a vast improvement over Mantis. I think Cedar Point made the right decision in doing the conversion. If nothing else it helps eat people, which Mantis certainly wasn't doing.

I'm disappointed that what little theming they added didn't even make it a full year, but that's CP for you. I'm surprised they even bothered in the first place. lol!

Overall it definitely improved the park, so I'm happy with it. For the B&M's it's above Gatekeeper but below Raptor in my book. :)

I'll finally get to try it out on August 9th & 10th. My wife and I didn't get Platinum passes this year because we don't have a reliable sitter for our 2 year old. We can't justify making the drive from Pittsburgh frequently with only the three of us. At least we'll be going on our anniversary and hopefully again for Halloweekends.

I'll try to be a more active poster here vs. a daily lurker so I can let you know when I get to try it out. I always liked the layout of Mantis, I just never liked the whole standing gimmick, even when I rode it as a kid. With that being said, I'm pretty confident that it will become part of my regular line up with the floorless trains. I got to ride Dominator at KD last year and that ride was still just as good as I remembered it from Geauga Lake, but that's a different topic so I'll end there.

Sorry about that Perpetual Obsession. I had just taken my pill when I posted that earlier. I have a.d.d. Yeah Rukah, I think you'll like it! Some people say there's head banging, some don't. Personally, I only noticed it in the second half of the ride. If anything it was very light.
