There were a couple years in the 70s/80s where the Tribe would set the single game record for the season (or at least be in the top 10) on opening day and then go back to a couple thousand paid attendance with actual attendance much lower for the rest of the season. And unless there was some influx of good baseball fans in the 90s that I didn't read about, it was the same fans who were not there in the 70s/80s (other than the 120,000 who were there for Barker's perfect game), were there in the 90s and have not been there in recent years.

I think most fans are looking for more consistent play. 07 they are one game away from the World Series, the next year they are last place. Last year they are in 1st place for over half the season, then stumble to the finish and were actually 3rd in the Central. But Cleveland fans are generally good because the Browns are always sold out and they are terrible every year.

Cleveland is a football town first. Then baseball and basketball a distant second and third respectively. Browns always have a following. Indians and Cavs need to be winning to have one. Given a choice of championships, I think Cleveland fans on average take a Super Bowl over World Series or NBA title by a lot.

Issue that baseball has in the northern parts of the country is that they have played 65+ games before summer officially even starts. And 50+ games before kids are out of school. Night games during the week are tough (especially when night time temps are often pretty cool/cold early in the season). For Indian fans based on what has happened in the past, the question becomes when does the June swoon start? And if its in July, does it make that much of a difference?

Good point GoBucks, especially about being a football town.

The problem is those years where they are out of contention by the end of April, such as 2008. At least this year (and last year) they are right in the mix. Even last year when they missed the playoffs it was a fun summer watching them. Better than when they are 15 games out in June.

The issue with the Indians is pretty simple; winning. You don't need a dissertation on sports, the weather, school, kids,etc. In the 90's you had a new stadium and a winning team. Now you have a not-so-new stadium and a team that hasn't won anything. That's it.

Football is apparently much different. How that stadium sells out every week is beyond me, other than GoBucks is 100% correct when he says that Cleveland is, first and foremost, a football city. Then again, America is a football-first country, so I don't think this is exclusive to Cleveland.

The Cavs have been up there with some good teams. The last decade has pretty much been dominated by the Cavs in Cleveland.

^Correction, Lebron unfortunately. Although the fans have stuck around better than I thought the last 2 seasons. Some of it has to do with getting into early bird season ticket specials sold before "The Decision." Those were fun years tho..

So its been almost two weeks. Have people seen improvement in the performances as the performers (hopefully) get more comfortable with the live/real time shows?

Okay let's try to get back on topic. I haven't seen luminosity yet so I'm pretty anxious. What is everyone's favorite part of the show?

Was it just the performance I went to or does no one cheer for the show?

I finally saw it Saturday night. it didn't take long before I was waiting for it to be over. It was not my cup-of-tea. I found it rather dull. The best part was the pre-show when members of the audience went on stage for dance competition. I am not sure why I didn't like it. I normally love CP's live entertainment. This was different somehow.

I can't imagine what it would have been like if they didn't remove Wildcat. I feel it was not well thought through. We got there about 23 minutes before show and lucked out getting seats in bleachers.

I will go pay the $5 for the dinosaurs before sitting through that show again!
