I actually like a lot of Law Enforcement, and work closely with a lot of them. I just didn't like the way CPPD treated the employees as if they were criminals for no just cause.
What? Givin' 'em "crap" cause they're teenagers, with a little bit of gold and a pager?
Bonus points for figuring out the reference. (should be easy for some of us...)

You know, I saw an incident last weekend that really got on my nerves. My mom and I were in line for Maverick and were in the old WWL station. As sometimes happens, an op came down the stairs looking for single riders, and I also noticed an officer talking to a guest off to the side behind the stairs (I'm not sure what for though). The only person to reply to the call for a single rider was someone back towards the rear of the house (my mom and I were about in the middle), so the employee had her come out to the side. When the lady got up to the little gate next to the stairs the officer stops the lady and tells her she needs to go back to her spot in line. The op then tells the officer that she had called for a single rider, but the officer tells her that the man she had just finished talking to was a single rider, and that he was right there. The op is still trying to do her job and get both the single riders up the steps but the officer is refusing to let her do so. In the end the officer got her way, and only because she pulled the op off to the side and wrote her up, and she was just doing her job!
I'm sorry, but the CPPD are not ride operators and should not be able to interfere in normal operation, which is what happened. Ops have been constantly pulling multiple single riders up the stairs at one time throughout the season, and the officer had no reason or right to interfere. Its situations like this that really irk me, and I almost went and talked to the appropriate people, unfortunately, the ride erased the incident from my mind until reading this thread.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.
Are you sure that's what actually happened? Or is there more to the story that maybe you didn't hear.
I'm familiar with some of the police officers and that doesn't sound like something they would do. Must of them are very nice.
I'm also not sure what the ride host would get written up for if that's how the story went. When working crowd 2 position on Maverick, your job is to grab as many single riders as you can before the next rotation is done.

I hated feeling like a criminal and having my stuff searched every night. I don't drink, and look pretty far from a criminal.
Why, because your white? Its hard to believe anyone that has worked at Cedar Point, one of the most diverse jobs I could ever think of, could be such an asinine ethnocentric moron. I was more than happy to let them search my bag every night. Why, because I knew they were going to search everyone else behind me in that line. Maybe you should petition the park asking for a special line for you and you non criminal looking types so you can just pass on by, you can all ride in the front of the employee bus and have your own drinking fountains too! YIPEE! YAY SEGREGATION!
And just so we can all be certain, what does a criminal look like in your opinion? Actually, don't even bother, I'm sure you don't have the ovaries to anyway. I'd pay big money for you to repeat what your saying in here around ANYONE of minority!

You bet your behind I would like them to profile criminals.
And while we're at it, I wish they'd profile people in airports more often. Old ladies aren't blowing up planes. Stop making them take their shoes off. It's a waste of everyones times.
HAHA, And I'd bet my ass you voted for the Patriot Act too! So tell me Ben, who's blowing up planes then? Cmon...say it...I know you want to.
I'd love to rip your dumb ass apart some more, but I have better things to do like get back to the real world, you should visit some time. Idiot.
This all happened basically right in front of me, and both the officer and op were talking rather loudly, the officer more so. It happened pretty darn near, if not exactly, as I described it, and in that order. I remember seeing the officer talking to a guy behind the steps with her pad out taking notes, then the op came down, called for single riders, had the lady go out and around to the gate, the officer stepped out and stopped the lady, the op tried to get the officer to let her in, but the officer refused and said that there was already a single rider right there, and I'm pretty sure it was the same guy she was talking to. Either way, the person was right in front of the stairs. After the dialogue, the op and officer disappeared behind the steps for a while, and I know the officer requested the op to come with her, and of course you have to. I really don't know why the officer was so insistent on not letting the lady that the op called up as a single rider into the line at that point, because she did return to her group.
This was all within maybe 5 minutes, if that. *** Edited 10/26/2007 7:29:22 AM UTC by BlueStreak64***

^Not saying I don't believe what you saw, it just seems like there had to be something more to the story.
