Pinks hotdogs!

^Well, since I lived in L.A. for three years I could have had Pink's all the time. I just felt they weren't that good enough to visit multiple times while I was there.

Too bad Cedar Point couldnt bring in SuperDawg instead of Pinks!! At least we tried it and know to never eat Pinks again!!! When we go back I will stick with the Pizza slices which are not too bad and the fresh cut cheese fries!

I don't think the hot dogs are all that great, but I do like the spicy polish dogs, they have lots of flavor that the hot dogs lack.

I love their double cheeseburgers and fries! I haven't tried the hotdogs yet, but the cheeseburgers and fries are really good and worth the long wait.

I <3 Wicked Twister!

Pinks is the one place that majorly disappointed us earlier this month. We were second in line at the counter. One register was working. Well, working is a major over statement. I can understand if the person is a trainee but the other register should be open to keep things moving. The person working was about as clueless as I have ever seen. This was not the job for her. The noise level was so bad she couldn't hear the orders and we couldn't hear her. We ended up buying four hotdogs and five drinks. No fries or anything else. The bill was over $50. I was the only vegetarian in our group and ordered the veggie hot dog. I have eaten many vegetarian hot dogs having been a vegetarian for over 30 years. One bite of this one was enough. Vomit would taste better. Sorry, that is no exaggeration. The others said the regular dogs were ok. Nope,
Not going back to Pinks.

I love Pinks -- have eaten at the one in LA long before going to CP's, and they were equally delicious at CP....

Mild Polish, plain, with mustard.

That being said -- I would stay away from anything "vegetarian" at Pinks, that's not what they are about and that was added to the menu in LA and their other establishments just to say they offer one.

This is a meat hotdog place, plain and simple.

But I love them.

The menu at the CP pinks was also very limited compared to the menu online. For the money we could get more food at other places in the park.

The spicy polish dog is so spicy it's almost inedible. I love spicy food too, but this was insane hot. Every other hotdog I've had there was good though.

And yet, you paid. And then complain.

Really?

Really?

At least make an attempt at rationality if you want to be taken seriously.

Kevin,
Go back to your troll cave and leave the nice people alone.

I have to say, if you go to a fast food hot dog joint at an amusement park and order a vegetarian meal, it shouldn't be surprising that your food was nasty.

This is not to say that's the way it should be, but c'mon, the smallest amount of deductive reasoning should have led you to go elsewhere, especially with what seems to be such a discerning palate.

Very discerning indeed, as apparently vomit is at least considered as a food choice. Then again, maybe KTbee is really Alicia Silverstone.

Kevin, who has apparently been a troll since 2005.

Have I really been in a cave for 8 years?

If you have Kevin, there's a lot of us in the same cave with you. LOL

Pink's is one of our favorite places to eat in the park. Can't say I have have ever been disappointed with the food. As far as my general experience, I'd have to say that anything I've ever eaten that's "vegetarian" has been mostly inedible so why should a hot dog be any different.

Having been a vegetarian for over 30 years I am quite familiar with what vegetarian food tastes like. I am not against people eating meat. The veggie hot dog was so bad at Pinks that the thought crossed my mind that it had gone bad. I was with a person who had the turkey dog and three that had the regular dogs. Even though the regular dogs were ok none of us wanted to ever return. It was not just because of my veggie dog.
I have been a regular point visitor since 1948. No, that is not a typo. 1948 is right. This is the only time I have disliked something at the park. I would say that says a lot for CP.
Now, I respect your right to like Pinks and request that you respect that I have a different view. Trolling, on the other had, deserves no respect. It is bullying. At my age I just see it as a reflection on the person doing it. Younger folks can be damaged seriously. I hope that when trolls grow up they understand the consequences of their actions.
That said, I am done.

I'd like to know where in the park you can get 4 adult meals significantly bigger than pinks hot dogs and 5 drinks for $50 not counting the hot dog and brat carts and not using passholder discounts.

I love Pinks. It is one of very few places in the park I can eat without feeling queasy afterwards.

KT,
I won't speak for anyone else, but I certainly wasn't commenting on your diet choices just as I wouldn't expect you to comment on mine. Some people like Pink's, others don't. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I do disagree with your response to Kevin, and would say maybe try to be a little less sensitive. Not only was it not "trolling", but Kevin also happens to be one of the more reasoned and sensible posters on here. I would also say that when you post something that's hyperbole to maybe expect a little hyperbole in return.

Pink's is OK but really doesn't live up to all the "Hollywood" hype. From what I understand, the original location's food is exactly the same, so I don't get what is so special about it. I guess it is all about putting greasy toppings on an average dog.

I like the jumbo all beef hot dogs from the park a lot more than the Pink's dogs actually. I like it simple, a nice all beef dog with just some mustard.

So much for that whole "discerning palate" theory. :)

Brandon

A) the prices in LA are cheaper
B) Its a glorified food cart in LA -- the hotdogs are WAY better than the horrible 3.50 hotdogs at the street corner hotdog stands across the street and all the way down the street. It upgraded to a real "building" but its still a food window
C) Its not an LA destination -- its a local hotdog stand.

At CP it becomes a "restaurant" because of the nature of the park and by virtue of not having 15 other 3.50 hotdog carts on the street.

Pinks built up a reputation as a great hotdog place compared to the bad street corner hotdog vendor carts. It uses quality meat, and it tastes better. A few celebrities hopped on the bandwagon and really made it a landmark. The rest was all just Pink's great family-based advertising (and cool t-shirts they sell at their LA stand)

But really, in LA, nobody goes there unless they are hungry at lunchtime and in the neighborhood.
