Thing about working at the park? Your least favorite?
This should be interesting...
MrScott
Mayor, Lighthouse Point
Favorite: Probably the obvious reason of getting into the park for free, anytime
Least Favorite: Working a closing shift and then having to open the next day. This especially sucked when the park closed at midnight, I wouldn't get out of there till 2am, and then had to be back at 8:30am the next morning. It didn't help that I had to get the 7:30am bus in order to make it on time...

Favorite: getting to be outside all day during the summer, and of course getting into the park for free, anytime. Another favorite was when it would rain and the soak city guests would run inside so they wouldn't get wet, and then ask is the rain would make the slides too slippery.
Least Favorite: Missing a Radiohead concert that I had comped tickets to due to filling out an accident report for an incident that happened right before I was getting off to go to the show. *** Edited 4/8/2005 10:13:32 PM UTC by emtnate***
*Favorite*- Going to Soak City druing splits. How it feels like college with no classes.
*Least Favorite*- The ride op tan lines. Closing at midnight and having to be there at 7:00 the next morning!
I love it at CP! Being there is like going on vaction only you work but then you get paid for it! Weird huh?
2005-???????Guess where??????
2004- Wicked Twister, Raptor, My beautiful Millennium Force, Mine Ride, GCA, Magnum, Power Tower, and TTD
Favorite - Interacting with the guests, going to soak city on splits, having Magnum, Millennium Force, and Raptor all within 4 miles of where you "live".
Least Favorite - Some of the attitudes of Management, Lack of Sleep, Housing (it really sucked to not be allowed to have Microwaves in the dorms and to share 5 showers with like 100 other guys), pay.
Favorite: The people I've met and worked with and the friendships that I've made over the past two years. The smiles on the kids' faces, being able to say that I work next to the world's tallest and fastest roller coaster (not true any more but it was fun while it lasted).
Least Favorite: The attitudes the guests give me sometimes because the ride (TTD) is down. It is somehow my fault and my responsibility to not only apologize for the ride being down but refund the money for the merchandise they bought and the locker that they used voluntarily. Its also my responsibility to give a refund on a necklace some kid's mom broke trying to put on him two months later.
2005 - Pagoda TL
2005 - Speed Zone TL
2004 - Speed Zone TL
2003 - Speed Zone
Favorite - the friends and co-workers that I had over the course of 4 summers - they made everything that was fun about CP even better!
Least Favorite - "OC"-ing on a midnight close and then having to open the next morning (although, once the day got "started" I'd have forgotten about how tired I was when I got up).
Fave: All the friends I have made in america and internationally, the guests that made my day so great, and being able to go on every ride in the park like a million times!
Least Fave: Doing 18 surveys in 100 Degree weather, and getting called bad names by people that didn't agree with the rules.
Guest Services 2005
Guest Services 2004
Super Screw Crew 2003
Wow...summer of 1986!
Favorite: The great friends that I met that summer. The experience of working at a place that was actually my hobby. Being part of a team. Walks in the park at night during times off. Being away from home for the first time.
Least Favorite: Being away from home for the first time (most and least favorite). The hideous hours. Getting to the food stand first thing in the morning to find a beer tap had blown off...in 90 degree heat. Bug bombs. Crap showers. The minor dorm. Polyester uniforms. Bad room mates.
Edited to include "Christmas in July" as a favorite...and post season work crew, too

Favorite: The good times
Least favorite: The bad times
Simple as that. :)
It's a job where good days fly by and are great. Bad day drag on for long hours.
Favorite single occurence: getting tackled by a random little kid I didn't know while I was trying to swim in lake erie... he though I was his brother!! :)
Favorite regular thing that isn't getting into the park whenever: Dutch cheap burgers on thursdays (it was thursdays, right??)
Least favorite thing: Guests trying to do.. uhh.. anything that they know they aren't allowed to do. Just wait in line like EVERYONE ELSE... PLEASE?
2004 - Extreme Splash Usher
2005 - maXair
2005 - Snoopy's Summer Vacation MC
Favorite: Meeting all the awesome people from all over, interacting with the guests, getting to know what goes on behind the scenes and getting in free....there are lots more, but those are the only one's i could think of for now
Least: sometimes guests just don't think before they ask questions! hehe! also getting the same questions over and over and over and over!
Fav: Working with Tony Aaron and Megan Payne/ Getting into Cedar Point for Free/Ride Nights Big Bash/and the friends I met./ Plus all Jamie Fisher Did during Employee Parties Thank You
Least Fav: The Last day of the Season. Being Asked by Park Guest "What Time is the 10 O Clock Laser Light Show"

Favorites; Empty park walks late at night, my crew and I raising @#$% at Meijers at 2 in the morning, Employee ride nights (nobody screamed on the rides), meeting life long friends that I will NEVER forget. Sorry bholcomb, back when I worked there, I had AWESOME managers in park operations.
Worst: CLEANING UP PUKE!, having tall kids squat-walk through the entrance and laugh saying "am I tall enough"? Stupid guest questions like "when will the ride be up and running again?, why is it down?, when will the rain stop?, where is Magnum Force (uh, Flamingoland...)?, how long is the line at Magnum (I am at Raptor)" And yes the all famous laser light show question
1999; Matterhorn triangle, Kiddy kingdom, Kid Arts, Cadillac Cars and Raptor
2000; Raptor
Cedar Point, Americas rip- rockin', high flyin', sky defyin', record breakin' roller coast
awww after reading all the posts about everyone's best memories (and even some of the least fav - cos some of them just sound funny) I can't wait to get to cedar point and start working! i think it's going to be a crazy summer!!

Favorites: Hanging out in Bayside! It seemed that each year I would befriend the guys of the same crew, even if it was mostly different guys from year to year...they mostly rawked. Big Time Drama usually began around June, but in the early part of the season it was great to just hang out (700 in '01, 800 in '03) kick back and be amused by some of the most hilarious characters I've met in my life. It seems so lonely and quiet now with three people living in my house, compared with the ten or eleven regulars that would convene in a Bayside apartment.
Riding over the causeway each morning and evening, looking at the lake and beautiful view...that NEVER got old. Walking through the park in the morning before opening. And for some reason it was always exciting to go to Meijers and any bar/restaurant. For some reason, going shopping or out to eat at home just isn't the same...
Least Favorites: Being understaffed and having to work O-C's. Coming in to work a morning shift only to be told it was switched to O-C. Being located as far as humanly possible from the front door and laundry room in Commons. Losing my ID and not being let into Commons. (That I only lost it once in three years - it fell out of my pocket en route to McDonalds - is nothing short of a miracle). Standing in a 1 hour line at HR for something that will take 5 seconds. Coming back and working with your exes from last season.
