Passholder Preview Night

Either way, if you decide to go the Preview Night, I would hope that you receive your time when you book the ticket so you can plan around that time if you can't be there for the whole evening.

I hope so too but the wording "When you arrive, you’ll receive a timed ticket – this will tell you when to get into the Steel Vengeance line to ride." doesn't give me the most confidence in that.

I'll be there the whole day but it doesn't matter much to me, I would prefer a later time like night. I can see others though wanting to plan specifically for a time, especially considering they're weekdays.

I hope they don't give you are time when you sign up. I'd hate to get a time of 4:30 or 5:00 when I know I can't get there until 6:30 or 7:00.

I love that they're doing this, but I'm bummed that they are all on weeknights. We're passholders who live about 3.5 hours away, so to do one of these nights would mean one, if not two, days off work. Looks like I'm waiting for the regular season opening.

I do like how they have structured preview nights this year. It definitely seems to be more appealing for those within reasonable driving distance to the park since only Castaway Bay will be available for overnight stays and they are few days before the park opens. I think we are going to try and attend either Tuesday or Wednesday.

Depending on how many tickets they sell, you may or may not be able to choose your own row.

Nothing about how this event is set up indicates you'd be able to choose your own seat. Nor should you be able to, in my opinion.

Either way, if you decide to go the Preview Night, I would hope that you receive your time when you book the ticket so you can plan around that time if you can't be there for the whole evening.

If you can't be available for the whole evening it's probably best not to go, considering how they've set it up. You would have to be available from the time you arrive until at least 10:00PM, though probably later than that.

Whenever your ride time is assigned, I hope you can pick it. I suspect they will hand out ride times in order of arrival. In other words, first to get there rides first, last to get there, rides last. I'd like to ride after dark, but also want to get there early.

The question of when the tickets will become available on the 10th has not yet been answered, has it?

CoasterMania and the first rider preview were announced a couple days in advance as just "afternoon"

Both became available shortly after 12pm.

My friend is a dockholder and she said she contacted the Marina and they are letting dockholders who want to take advantage of the preview days to come in and get their Marina Platinum Passes starting April 2nd. But they have to be paid in full and provide the proper paperwork whatever that is that the Marina requires.

So it seems the only questions remaining are 1) when we can start reserving tickets on the 10th via the link, and 2) just exactly how the times to ride will be distributed.

It makes sense that the earlier you get there the earlier your ride time will be. I'm not sure they would let you pick, because if everyone starts picking later times, then what would you do with those that stroll in at 6? 7?

I've altered the plan a bit to get there right at 4. I would rather get an early ride time to be able to leave no later than about 7:00.

I probably will get an early ride time as I will be there at entry, oh well, makes sense I guess.

But I definitely want to be around the period these become available on my computer ready to get them when they go up and pick April 30th (and be able to stay if there any glitches or problems).

Kevinj, I think it’s pretty clear. The tickets will go on sale that “afternoon” so I’d say check at noon. I’d think you can select your day to attend until that day is sold out then it will be removed as an option. As for ride times it’s clearly stated that you’ll be given a time stamp voucher for your ride when you enter. Those will be in order. First in will ride earliest. Those who show up later may have to ride Mine Ride while they wait. They’ve already figured out potential/theoretical capacity so this will be done with that in mind. Allowing passholders to choose their time would be a nightmare beyond comprehension. Would you want to figure it out? I don’t.

What I can’t wait for are the complaints around this free passholder event.
“There were far to many in attendance on my day”
“There was a thunderstorm and they won’t let us come back tomorrow”
“We only got one ride but there were half empty trains at 8:30”
“The food got scarfed up by greedy people before I could get to it”
“Two of the rides scheduled for us were down”
“Maverick was an hour wait”
“We went for our scheduled time and still had to wait an hour”
“There was no swag”
“The swag was scarfed up by greedy people before I could get mine”

Seriously, I can’t wait.

^Sadly, that is fairly likely to happen. (Although the fourth is an interesting point.)

It would be a pretty serious dick move to give the early arrivals late ride times and late arrivals early ride times!

This is my fear, that people will ruin this event too and CP will decide to change it or get rid of it. From all the details released so far this sounds like an amazing and well thought out way to do season pass holder previews. I really hope this goes over well and it's something we see every season, regardless of new attractions or not. Just another nice perk of being a pass holder.

How’s many people have passes I wonder. Hundreds? Thousands?

^^ And that is why I don't think CP should cancel passholder events when the minority of people complain over trivial things, because such a policy will lead to every event being cancelled. It's almost a fact that somebody will find something wrong with any event, and most of that stuff will be trivial.
