Passholder Preview Night

I can totally sympathize with people with people who didn't get a ride. That sucks; I would have been really disappointed.

Even without prompting, I probably would have poked my head in to Guest Services to see if they could do anything. It never hurts to ask. Upon hearing no, I would have left and chalked it up to bad luck. No threats of bad reviews and facebook posts.

But like I think RCMAC said, I've actually seen few posts complaining about the event, which gives me a slightly less dim view of humanity!

The guinea pigs are bitching? How much did that cost ya? They will tweek it and it will be golden. I've ridden Adventure Express and gotten bad operators on opening weekend at KI. You got selected as guinea pigs. Good policy for a new ride. It's going to take a lot of pressure off the rest of the lineup. And people are learning to operate a machine that has never been operated before. Good move CF. But it rained?

I was one who was also told by a ride supervisor this so my wife said well lets stop in ant guest services on the way out and try. No harm in trying, but did tell my wife that we probably would not get anything do to the disclaimer on the back on the Steel Vengeance ticket stub. Well I am currently holding 4 Fast Lane passes for Steel Vengeance only. And we really didn't complain. We explained what were told and were given the passes in exchange for our ticket stubs to ride Steel Vengeance. We had a great time at the event. Someone else had commented about Skyhawk seeming to go higher. My wife asked the ride attendant and they said they have it set to "high" this year, last year it was only set to "medium". Not exactly sure what that means or if it is even true, but my 6 year old who loves the ride actually got off scared since it went up higher than it has been.

I swore I would never wait more than an hour for any ride ever, but, considering I had gotten most of my free food before getting in line, gotten a ride in on Maverick and knew I was only allowed 1 ride on SV, I ended up staying in line for 3 hours and had the best time talking to people I had never met before. The time flew by. It obviously helped that we all had the same mindset and knew there was a chance of it having issues and that most of the park was closed so what else was there really to do besides making the best of a potentially disappointing situation.

Fortunately, those who were enjoyable to be around with and I got to ride the last 3 trains of the night. Very happy that 50 people ahead of us chose to get out of line rather than enjoying the company of the strangers around them.

Welp. Do you think for a minute that Cedar Point would be holding this three day passholder event if it weren’t for Steel Vengeance?

First, let’s take a deep breath and calm down. Just like what has already been discussed, they were there for a new ride that had mechanical issues. Guinea pig isn’t the word I would use per se, but let’s call a spade a spade here

Go ahead and yell at those who were unfortunate to choose the wrong night and tell them to get over it. My point is that they don’t have to, and we should expect that for some attendees other rides that will also be there this season and have been there for many seasons prior might seem like little compensation.

The point here is that the attendees are Platinum Passholders. I mean, unless they purchased their passes just for sole reason of getting to be the first to ride SV (which is absolutely ridiculous, but who knows), yes they will have many other chances to ride the dang ride.

I’m happy for those that were able to roll with it and have a good time anyway. I’m sad for those that were disappointed. That’s all.

I couldn’t agree more with you here.

Double post,

Has anybody captured pictures of the new Hotel Breakers wing or the extension of the boardwalk?

I hope by July they go nuts and just set it for plaid.

While at the event I commented about how the event could take strain off of opening day. Many passholders may now wait to ride instead of rushing over on opening day. Could help their usual early season woes with staffing.
