Parking lot coaster?

So, I think CP did a pretty good job of not making this ride a parking lot coaster. I did notice a few supports do touch the parking lot however. Question from the POV tho, it looks like there is a big patch of grassy area they are adding where the coaster goes through the parking lot. Is it just me or does it look to be an island? Where people can park in front of the hugh patch (island) and the rest of the parking lot sits behind it?

It does look that way, but remember this is just a ride rendering animation. A lot can change (pardon the pun) between this and the actual outcome.

In the Q&A it was said employee parking would be moved. I could see that "island" fulfilling those needs if its big enough.

What's the big deal. Bear in mind that the Jumbo Jet was a parking lot coaster. Of course Anton designed it to be one from the start.

It's tacky and unprofessional to still have parking space lines underneath a coaster. It's lazy and is one reason why the coaster count doesn't matter when all they do is plop one down and not even try to landscape or anything

Yeah I hope the grassy areas in the video rendering really are grassy areas.

I highly doubt they will just leave even concrete underneath the coaster. Just because the rendering has it doesn't make it final. The main focus of the render was the coaster not the small details.

^No, no man. I was very impressed with the renderings. If it looks like that it'll be great! I was talking about the photo of the Six Flags picture that someone posted where you can still see the parking lot lines under the coaster. It looks terrible. Gatekeeper will not look like that thankfully

Six flags has no tact. This is how they do it in all of their parks. I remember Shockwave at SFGA. It was clearly over the parking lot as well because you could see the lines. They care less about asthetics than they do purchasing the attraction.

Blue people fly sideways when it rains

Considering they went to the trouble of capturing all the seagull poop on the buildings, I suspect it's quite likely that they intend to landscape the area. I would be startled if they didn't.

Unless they go over budget, of course. ;)

Which would mean we'd be seeing a green painted blacktop instead. ;D

I hate it when people refer to companies as "lazy." They aren't lazy, they just don't want to spend money.

Which makes them cheap and lazy ;)

I'd say there will be less landscaping on the real thing compared to the animation. Just look at the comparison between the Maverick animation and the real thing. There are a lot of things missing in real life that were present in the Maverick animation. There are also some things present in real life compared to the animation, but for the most part, the animation showed us much more than there really is.

^I have to disagree. The Gatekeeper animation was not detailed enough to show the viewer what the landscaping will look like. I see a couple of trees, grass, and shrubs near the entrance, but that's about it. It is probably a good thing the animation wasn't detailed with landscaping; that way nobody will be offended when a rock canyon or waterfall isn't added.

^ Don't forget the heartline! :)

Was it mentioned if there will be any PointCasts? I sure hope so, Tony and Tyler had some great ones when Maverick was being constructed. Becca should definitely do them, although, they probably won't be as good. :p

Both are great rides. The fact Scream had parking spaces under it didn't change the fact that I enjoyed the ride.

The fact that Scream has parking spaces under it is exactly why I won't be visiting that park.

Not so great.

I'll expand on that thought; I have no interest in giving my money to a park that cares so little about my experience. I can ride "Scream" in about 10 different parks. Fail.
