I found a new reason to read these forums:
a good laugh.
Thank you to those who still believe in humor and sarcasm, where would these forums be without it?
and i don't mean that in a degrading way, after a long day at work, it's nice to read posts by those who have common sense, and those who don't
In regards to the official update, I agree with those who say that this coaster is only the beginning of some probably much needed improvements to the Mean Streak area. Frontier town has been in need of a facelift, and I think that time has finally come, however...once nice thing about Frontier town is that it's secluded, and kind of laid back. Hopefully CP won't go overboard in favor of concrete and tearing buildings down. A rollercoaster and maybe some smaller flat rides will work for me.
Owner, Gould Photography.
I'll jump on the stupid idea bandwagon.
Millennium Force will be blended with P2007. CP will take out the first overbanked turn, put an airtime hill in its place, which will carry it over to the P2007 site. It will have near-miss fly-bys of the old WWL station.
"Why is the track red, then?" Well, it will signal the old and new track pieces/courses. The reason MF has been down so much this year, is for preparation of new inner rails on its track.
Yes, folks, this will be the first giga 4-D coaster!
(I may just have to commit hara kiri if anyone takes this seriously.)

Who said or where was it said that Magnum XL was sinking?
from CedarPoint.com:
Contrary to popular belief, the Magnum XL-200 is not sinking and it is not being sold. It's speculated that the rumors originated from an April Fools Day spoof. An Ohio newspaper printed the falsehoods as part of a joke that snowballed and has escalated with the arrival of the internet.

Ahhh, that explains it..... I thought it was a joke, just wanted to double check my thoughts.
Maybe some of you are too young to remember.
Construction on Raptor began before the season ended. Construction on Mantis began before the season ended.
And let's not forget MF and TTD.
Just because they are starting verticle construction in August doesn't mean there is more to this.
I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

Raptor construction began the day after labor day (maybe some early surveying was done during the season). But they didn't start tearing stuff up until the season was over. I don't think there were bonus weekends in 94.

Well, Raptor wasn't a 500-foot dueling hybrid "backwords" suspended inverted launch/lift superuberdupercoaster!
If it was backwords we'd all be riding rotpaR.
Thanks for the correction Walt. I was just going off the Raptor video (and timelapse). It didn't seem anything started until after Labor Day although now that I think about it, Mill Race is already gone at the start of the video.

Cedar Point did, in fact, call it Project 2007 before we did.
ADDED:
From OnPoint, April 3rd 2006
He pushed a plain manila folder across his desk labeled, “Project 2007.”
Are you kidding? All these unanswered questions from both our readers and ourselves, all these major clues and here we are – in the general manager’s office, looking at “Project 2007.” It’s got a nice “top secret” ring to it, doesn’t it?
