Hey all, for those of you who have difficulty fastening the safety belts. There are a few tips that may or may not be helpful when you go to get that required safety inch.
1. Don’t wear bulky clothing
2. Separate your pant belts away from the safety belt so it fits tighter around your waist and can be pulled more easily
3. Pull the inch before you go to secure to belt, hold the inch width with your thumb while you secure the belt that way the belt will stretch with the inch still showing (that ones hard to explain)
4. DON’T BRING LOOSE ARTICLES ON THE RIDE! It’s not just for safety, it also makes your belt placement difficult in some instances.
5. If you need just a little more belt to show, pull up on the belt and rock it back and forward keeping the belt in line, not twisted. Simultaneously pulling the excess slack that is against your waist towards the buckle clip.
Bottom line everything must be fastened and secured properly.
Note**Ride hosts are not permitted to assist with securing the belts, only help line them up.
Hope this helps! Good luck to everyone!

#1 is a lot easier in June than it is in October, but those are all good points. I haven't been turned away yet, but I've probably been close.

I swear by it.

Anyone on this board who's looking to lose weight, get in shape, tone up, whatever.... Check that information out.

This is my second time following the program, and the results that are on the website are real if you are disciplined enough to want them. You don't have to take it that far if you don't want to, its all up to you.

Seriously, I'm not a certified trainer by any means, but I'm into fitness enough that I can answer SOME questions, and I'm more than happy to provide answers if I can.

edit: I should clarify, I have never been "big" by anyone's standards except my own (6', 180-200 lbs, muscluar build), so I'm not saying that this is a miracle that will take you down 100 lbs overnight - it's mainly guidlines for eating right and excercising to get the most effective workout you can.

According to The Abs Diet, by the editor for Mens Health, weight lifting is actually far better to burn calories than cardio work. Yes, you burn calories faster with cardio, and it is essential to weight loss, but with weight lifting, you encounter what is known as "after-burn", which is the process by which muscles repair themselves from the lifting. This can last for up to 48-hours after the workout, as opposed to about 30-60 minutes with cardio. I suggest going with lower weights, but higher reps. You don't have to become a body-builder, rather just build the muscle that helps burn calories while you sleep or just sit around. Good luck with the weight loss!

Another update ...

I have figured out that it is proabbly a mile long walk to and from my car daily now at wal-mart. Tonight was even further because I had to keep walking back and forth to my car.... It snowed like heck up here and I had forgotten my scraper at home.. I moved the car up to the door and walked back and forth like three or four times looking for something to use as a ice scraper... Oh Well....

Could've bought one from Walmart. Not that I condone purchases from that place.

Good luck in your weight loss. I hope everything goes as you hope and that you can ride what is truly one of the best first drops in coasterdom.

Goodbye MrScott

John

Problem is I don't have any cash untill tommarow :( ....

I have ridden twice before but i still want to ride this time and everytime that I go it is a challange as I stated befor this is really about riding Dragster but I figured that I would put it on the milli forum because of the fact that you fit milli you can ride the dragster....

Good luck with your weight loss. I've lost a lot of weight in the last two years, and I can honestly say most of it can be attributed to portion control and good old walking. Like MrScott said above, one candy bar a week isn't going to ruin your weight loss plan - it's all in learning to control how much you eat. Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels - it's the truth! Best of luck to you!

Good luck Eleazor...

As a 2004 employee of MF, I completely understand the desire to get in shape and ride the force. Josh and other MF workers on this site will hopefully agree with me when they say that its never pleasant to have to turn someone away from the ride. We never created the policy... we just had to deal with the backlash from it. I am a larger person myself, and I am concerned if I will still be able to ride this summer.

Im putting myself on a bit of an MF diet myself...

I wish you the best of luck!

By the way another quick update...

Started saving for the big day today put my first 20$ away today... well got to go for now more later...

Guys can you do me a favor when the point opens ??

Can you measure the belt length of both milli and top thrill dragster... I have been using my car belt as sort of a test harness for both rides and want to see if i can fit using the belt of my car as a test.. I know it won't be specific but it could be a general indicator...

Just a question, in your signature it states, "Just so you know picture in my profile is my first roller coaster ever !!" which is missing a word itself. But, you dont have a picture in your profile!
I'm baffled!

Can someone send me a picture of drachen fire that i can use as my avatar i have tried to resize one from rcdb.com but so far have had no luck maybe one of the computer gurus can help ...

Also anyone have any idea of the size of force's and dragster's belt....

Good luck to you Eleazar, don't give up. My girlfriend has a story to tell you about her experience. She will be on here to tell you about it but I just wanted to tell you how I felt the first time three years ago when I took her there for the first time in twenty years for her. She was amazed and really wanted to ride the Dragster. Well, unfortunatly she didn't fit and had to leave the station. My heart just sank. I can't imagine how she felt as everyone watched her get up and walk away. It was a wakeup call for her and she started dieting and in less than two months she rode it... Like I said, I'll let her tell you what she did.

Well, I have a tip too!

Sleep! When you deprive your body of essencial sleep hours, you impair your bodys functions in many ways. Your body does not properly process carbohyrdates. Furthermore, with sleep deprivation, your body increases production of cortisol and decreases lepitin; both reactions are negative!

Most doctors reccomend eight hours of sleep every night, but depending on your body, you could need as much as 9, or as little as 6.

Good Luck!!

Probably a weird suggestion, but you can also play video games to lose weight, believe it or not. Dance Dance Revolution is a game for the X-box, Play Station 2, and even the Game Cube where you must hit arrows with your feet along with music. It's not only a fun and addicting game, it gets you up, and its a great cardio work out.

I play it almost every day (all though I am a hardcore player, I guess you could say), and I have lost a lot of weight. And that was with out even changing my diet.

I guess its something to look into, just an alternate suggestion if your looking for a work out that can be extremely fun as well. :)

Good luck to ya!

Hi Ealizar721, this is CoasterKing39's girlfriend, for some reason I can't log on today so I am using his log on.. anyway, I was reading your request here and some of the advice given to you. It all sounds good, but,, you have to find what works for YOU! That is what I found out. About two years ago, John,my two kids and I went to Cedar Point , bad enough I had a hard time finding something to wear that would be comfortable( as blue jeans) I ran into a more tramatic problem... we went for two days, we rode all the older rides the first day and all went well, I almost didn't fit on those at 265+ pounds at only 5"2 well you guessed it, on day two, we waited two hours in line to ride the dragster,, the main reason I wanted to go there,, well when it became our turn, we sat in the seats, I went to fasten the belt, and no way was it going to snap,, the girl told me,, "if you can't buckle, you can't ride"... well what else could I do, my son who was riding just because I was, he was devistated as well, he wouldn't ride because I could not. so I had to demand them to unfasten his belt and let him off with me(TALK ABOUT BEING NOTICED) well from that day on I was determined that I was going to fit in that seat soon,,, before the years end.. I went with and still go with, the low carb diet,it is cheap and it works for me, pluss I have great support from my boyfriend. That was may 16th.. by July fourth, with walking 2 miles a day along with the diet I lost about 60#s we went fourth of July, I was terrified still mentally but I did fit... then I proceeded to lose an additional 40#s by the end of summer,, it is a hard task, anyone who says it is not, is lying or never had the problem,,,but I gave up sweets totally,, even when I slip off the diet thru the winter and the hollidays I stay totally away from the sweets...to me that is the biggest downfall!!! I still go up and down thru the year and still didnt meet my goal, I am determined to do so this year** but I fit on the rides,, and feel so much better, right now I lost a little over 20#s starting middle of feb.. I have a long way to go to reach my goal but I am determined to do it and just stay focused and strong is the most important thing,, I call this the millennium diet,lol.. every one at work in my office can't believe how many sweets I pass up and then I think,, the rides or the sweets.. which would I rather have. goodluck and keep us posted.. I know you will do it... Billy Jo
