ONE BIg OVAL??

I don't think bragging rights brings in the crowds. I think it is a good product and good service. SFWoA has an improving product but lousy service. Thus, the crowds aren't coming.

WDW doesn't have the fastest, tallest anything but each of its individual parks still outdraws the Universal parks.

Cedar Point will continue to prosper as long as they keep remembering that, "If you build it, they will come" isn't necessarily completely accurate.

Do you think CP has any plans to build an X type coaster in the future, or are they out of space for a ride like that....that is until they get rid of the parking lot on point. I have no desire to go to Cali except to ride X.

Chief, those are poor comparisons. SFWoA doesnt have *nearly* the "bragging rights" of their closest competitor. So your bragging rights theory doesnt even apply.

And even I, a dedicated Disney fan would not dare say that the product and service of USF/IOA is not at least equal to Disney. Disney beats Universal for one reason: Disney is about the most recognizeable brand name in the world. People flock to the name. If both sets of parks exisited without the history, who knows which park people would pick. But be clear, do NOT doubt the power of Disney's name.

Thanks everyone for giving your 2 cents... I cant wait to go on this ride, its going to be extreme!!!Just wonder how many times I can go on in a row without blacking out millenuim force was 11 most people quit at 7 lol CEDAR POINT

I am pretty sure that almost everyone will agree that this coaster is going to be one big oval. I think the hill is impresive and am sure the ride will be great!!! but I just wondered if anyone else feels shorted by CP putting in such short rides! WT is also a great ride but I am not waiting in line for a 15 sec ride. WT was fun the first time but if there is a long line I am passing.I come to get the feeling that CP is almost out of space and is just making stuff to get their name out with records.

15 sec. ride???? are these guests really that remarkibly stupid??? are you serious 15 sec???? come on here.... seriously....15 seconds....are you crazy??? i haven't even read all of your replys yet......i had to stop at the 15 seconds that is just wrong....Wicked Twister is my baby and i'm for sure that for the "15 seconds" that she worked her tail end off for you and maybe next time you should appreciate what you have....and by the way 15 seconds is so not even correct.... it takes a complete minute and maybe even a minute and two or 3 seconds for my baby to make a complete cycle......so learn your facts next time before you start talking about her.....

you realy should read the rest of the replies I cleared that up on my 2nd post..The Post is not about the lenght of the ride or how good it will be.The post is about how you feel about Cp putting in 2 short rides in 2 years in a row. I am not disliking either ride in anyway just think the timing is off
I'll ride it but at 62 you may have to carry me off the darn thing. (hope they dont put an age limit on it)

no horse collers. Seatbelts, lap restraints!

I'm not an old fogey, I'm just an old coaster rider..

Another lesson in self-loathing I suppose?
Cedar Point may introduce new train types.

Don't Assume everthing right away, CP always has a few tricks for us.

Speaking of "One Big Oval," I had a rather entertaining dream last night.....after arriving back home from my trip in a semi, I then went on to a part of the dream about #16 where I happened across the construction site as they were adding a half loop up into a corkscrew (like a half King Cobra twist kinda thing) and then into a couple of rolls......this must be an RCT2 induced dream, because I kept thinking how intense this would be and wondered if people would still ride it. The best part was it was still an oval...it just did all this before it hit the brakes....actually, in my dream, the ride didn't have brakes....oh well....you live and you learn. Oh yeah....according to my dream, they were also using the track on the downside of the tophat as a support for the actual track on the downside...

Sure, maybe a pointless post, but at least I didn't start a new topic for it.

I was just thinkin a few things.

1. Maybe CP should just name the thing #16.

2. Are we sure that the red/white side is the launch side? Is is possible that the white track pieces are brake sections and that the twist is on the way down??? After how much fun the back spike on WT is, it would make sense.

The brake fins are mounted on the down side (the red side), just as they have been since October. The trough for the launch sled is on the track on the up side (red and white side). So, yes. We're positive.

Good enough for me
OK...I have read all of your complaints...and basically it boils down to this...CP didn't live up to what some of you feel a coaster should be. Correction: a Classic Format Coaster.

But in retrospect, this type of ride has not been done before. Last I knew it, Intimen (whatever) was testing something similar out in Nevada somewhere, but no one would go for it. All of the parks thought that people would never ride this type of ride. Leave it to CP to take the risk, which I personnaly feel is a great one. The speed and the hight is what is going to nail you to your seat...not spins. The rest of the ride is fluff after the first hill anyway, altho nice fluff, it is not what gets most people on (or running away from) the ride. It's the first lift hill, and that is what CP is going for. A record breaking first hill.

That's all I have to say about that....

If it's what I think you're talking about, it was S&S (the company that built Power Tower) that was testing a ride in Nevade that is similar. And they opened one called Hypersonic at Paramount's King's Dominion (http://www.rcdb.com/installationdetail729.htm). Intamin is a Swiss company anyway. They built the Superman: The Escape ride at Six Flags Magic Mountain which is sort of like this one except it isn't a full circuit (it just goes up a spike then falls backward into the station) (http://www.rcdb.com/installationdetail140.htm).

Maybe if you would get your stats right, I wouldn't have to correct you on them, then maybe I would have read all of the replys before I said anything....Like DER!

Well in retrospect....I don't really care about CP putting in two "short" rides in a row. Every time they build something, it's better than what any other park has. Who really cares about how many "short" rides they have anyway? Are you still going to pay to get in?
I dont have to pay to get in since I work there but I would pay to get in to rid the new ride if I did not work there.

I am a Mechanical Engineering major not an english major so pardon my horrible grammer

This ride is going to be amazing. I am NOT in any way disappointed with what CP is giving us. I just feel the need to defend those who are disappointed, once again I am NOT disappointed.

None of them are saying that they are not going to ride the ride. Noone has ever said that. Noone has ever said that they will stop going to CP. Nobody has said that CP owes them anything.

All it comes down to is personal preference and taste. It is okay for people to have different opinions. I think some of you are putting words in to their mouths. Some of you hear the word 'disappointed' and you take offense to it. Just accept that they have different points of view. If you do not agree with them that is fine. I just think that it is ridiculous to see people getting bent out of shape like this. Be the better person and just respect their opinion, no matter how stupid or ignorant it may be. Just my opinion on the situation.

Once again, I am NOT disappointed with this monstrous mo' fo'.

Peace I'm Out

Cedar Point is definately not running out of room, there is alot of track to cover going up and down a four hundred foot tophat and with a footprint that stretches from the Gemini Midway and next to Power Tower is an immense site.

over 400 feet?!? Okie Dokie sure!
