Keep cracking that code!

I think CP will strike a balance with the coaster enthusiasts and the family crowd by adding a "wild mouse"(which we don't have currently) in the vein of Coast Rider at Knott's. This would kill 2 birds with 1 stone and hopefully make both demographics happy. I think this is a good possibility. Here take a look:

Please stop suggesting this lame-o coaster! KI's Scooby Doo is more exciting than that.
THIS is what CP needs if they want to actually satisfy families looking for something more exciting than the People Mover:
39", baby!
But then again, CF would raise it to 48", because 39" is too mind blowing and, of course, for "safety".

Totally agree with you "3snoHun=1". But something like this would require story development and theme details to really work (not to mention, the special effects upkeep) - and that is something that is definitely not in CP's D-N-A. The only creativity department at CP is the hype factory.
^^ Kris, while I like the Big Thunder Mountain clone (DisneyWorld) that you propose better than a coast rider, it seems more suited for Frontiertown and wouldn't fit the theme in the part of the park by Blue Streak (looks and size wise) where I think the next coaster will probably end up. I would personally love to see a Boomerang (knotts Berry Farm) type ride, with a forward & backward launch (WT doesn't fill my need for a backward coaster, sorry)or maybe even gasp, an Ultra Twister for something different. The coast rider just seems like the "safe" bet that CP could take to me, not something I'd necessarily want over the others. Here's examples of both:

PS: Love the former "dueling dragons"(Raptor hybrid) but won't happen because of land constraints.
Some of us would argue that one boomerang is too many boomerangs.
Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

Now, I know it's early in the season and all, and that it is NEVER traditional to announce a big ride for next season at the start of the current one. But there's a chance that this could be something. Odds are, it's nothing. But I just figured this clue may, or may not, fit here.
I was assuming this was an announcement for the opening day of Slingshot.

Also, MyOwnCP, a facebook group, posed , "So has anyone else noticed that ALL of the trees next to the beach have been removed? Wonder what's going to go there..."
Hello, my name is Millennium Horse and I am new to PointBuzz. I think a Polercoaster by US Thrill Rides and S&S Worldwide would work well, as well as a Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter. They work for a landlocked park like Cedar Point.
When Millennium Force and Maverick combine it becomes Millennium Horse.

I saw that post too and it had me really intrigued. I hadn't even paid attention to that on my previous visits to the park so far this year, but now I do remember how open it is. Does the park just want to open up that entire area? Or was GK just the beginning of the beach area expansion/improvement?

Top 5 CP Coasters: 1. Steel Vengeance 2. Millennium Force 3. Maverick 4. Dragster 5. Magnum
Coaster Count: 102
Ride On 17, I feel like if it would have been to open up the entire area, we would have seen it done last year. I don't see any real reason to wait just to remove trees. I could be wrong, but who knows.
Also, @TonyClarkCP tweeted about his "announcement", saying, "My announcement is delayed. #sorry #hangtight #nottoday #notsaturday #notsunday #maybemonday #maybetuesday #perhapswednesday".
Maybe, just maybe, this isn't anything that he ever intended to announce. It could just be a way to gather a bit of hype around what Cedar Point might be announcing, maybe with an intent of dropping another hint to us.
As I have said before, I could be dead wrong about this. But other than SlingShot's opening day, which makes no sense to have a special announcement for, I don't see anything else to announce at this point.
I honestly want one of these 3.
1. Take out CCMR and build a new family coaster with the same theme as CCMR. (like Cedar Creek Mine Ride II or whatever)
2. A prefabricated wooden coaster on the beach.
3. A Family LIM launched coaster. (kinda like Backlot Stunt Coaster at KI)
Who knows maybe that boardwalk idea went somewhere, but I doubt it. I can't see anything big coming from this announcement, but I hope I'm wrong

I think a B&M Hyper like Diamondback would be awesome!
That won't happen. Cedar Point already has Magnum XL-200.

It also has two carousels (formerly three), two wooden coasters and three car rides. Canada's Wonderland has two B&M speed coasters. What's your point?
