Don't expect ANYTHING til at least 2017

I'm thinking even later than that.

Don't expect anything... Don't feel entitled to anything... Cedar Point will add whatever ride they think will attract the most guests and leave them happiest (thus spending more money). If they need a new ride, we'll get it. If not, we'll have a world-class park to enjoy nonetheless. :)

All I'd like to see over the next few years is upgrades.

No area of the park seems dead anymore, at least to me. No area doesn't have a space where I think "you know, if they did this", and the park to me is complete. It has just about everything I could want.

Biggest epiphany I've had this year, is how much I've traveled and enjoyed things on the trail. I've been there about as much if not more than my usual go to areas in the park, and I never thought that would happen.

^ One place comes to mind and that is the Blue Streak midway. But other than that I completely agree.

All of us are a little spoiled by the insane pace of adding MF-WT-TTD-Mav in the 2000s. In 7 years we got 4 coasters that are still more modern (and higher quality) than even the flagship rides of many parks.

Haven't read every post so I apologize if someone already said this, but I think it will be announced in 2019 and will open for the 2020 season which is also their 150th anniversary. It has been said that the Mantis could get a new floorless system and I think that if they did in fact do that, they might use that as something to tide people over until 2020 (maybe 2016?)

I have really grown to like Raptor over the past few years. And I am really looking forward to riding Banshee. Reports I have heard from people who have ridden it are all very positive.

Agreed! The Raptor is probably one of the most underrated coasters at the park. When we went a couple weeks ago I tried to get my 9 year old daughter to go on it when we first got there, and she got scared and wouldn't ride it (I think because it is so loud from the ground). But later that night I rode it by myself and afterward I went over to the games and told her that she HAD to ride it because it was so much fun. Finally she agreed and we got right on the ride with no waiting (I didn't wait the time before that either). Afterward she carried on about how it was the best ride of the day. We had been on the Mantis, Corkscrew, PipeScream, Iron Dragon, and Magnum before that.

If the park is looking for anything unique for its coaster lineup that it currently doesn't have, here's a list for future reference:

1. Wild Mouse
2. Spinning Coaster (ala Joker in Mexico). Would be a good family/kiddie addition and looks fun.
3. Ultra Twister (China/Japan)
4. Screamin Squirrel (Italy?)
5. An S&S 4D coaster with spinning side cars
6. A dive coaster (like Krake)
7. A floorless coaster (B&M)
8. A Looper
9. A free fly coaster
10. A tilt coaster
11. A Water coaster (we do have SRF I guess, just add track).
12. A 500ft+ Polercoaster.

Just something to add to the lineup and replace #12.

Here's my take: McClure will want to quickly make a name for himself as Cedar Point's new general manager. The most effective way to do that is by adding a coaster that will gain him national attention. I'd expect a new coaster sooner rather than later, like in the next two years.

And by predicting the "roller coaster capital of the world" would continue building roller coasters, no less!

Literally NO ONE ELSE could have predicted that!!!!!11!!1!

Good thing I was sitting down when I read ksfactor28's astoundingly prescient prediction.

Those are the only 2 posts from that account. Something seems odd.

Hm. That is odd.

I guess we can learn the answer in 2018, when he makes his next post.

The stupid thing is that a) you have to make a name for yourself prior to getting the CP GM gig, b) if you've met McClure, you know he's not a make a name for himself kind of guy and c) GM's don't just arbitrarily build things without the executive team setting the agenda.
