Next Big Coaster

Of all the rides that could use some TLC, Gemini is far from a priority IMO. It's still relatively smooth (for a 1978 Arrow) with a neat layout. It's the park's racing coaster, something that gives it some extra excitement.

Mean Streak, on the other hand... I'm not sure that the Mean Streak Challenge for CoasterMania is worth it, even if I did win the 2015 Plat Pass. Back pain > free $200 pass.

Retrofit Gemini so that it has updated elements, a much longer length (2x in the same footprint), and improved trains via replacing it's tubular track with the new I-style that can do inversions...

I'm not sure which is worse... Endless complaining about everything the park does, or completely ridiculous fantasy wish lists.

Maybe lame wasn't the word I should have used. I do like Diamondback and It works for KI because they didn't have that type of coaster in their lineup. Since I go to CP 6 to 9 times a year and usually get 12-20 rides on Millie and about 30 on Magnum. Not to mention TTD and Maverick. Diamondback doesn't really do it for me. It's a 7 or 8, I'm used to 9's or 10's. At KI they have rides that aren't comparable to what CP has. I don't get off the Racers and think it's not Blue Streak.

As for Adventure Express, I like to throw myself around during the ride at each jerky corner to make it look as if the rides causing it. I cannot stop laughing usually. I also have memories of marathoning the ride as a child. It's not my favorite as in great coaster. Beast is their best coaster. As for Banshee I haven't ridden it yet. But after riding Raptor for years and years the possibility of it being that much more thrilling to me than Raptor aren't very high. I'm sure it's a nice ride.

I have really grown to like Raptor over the past few years. And I am really looking forward to riding Banshee. Reports I have heard from people who have ridden it are all very positive.

Banshee is much smoother than Raptor with the added benefit of a much smoother braking system..

I'm going to give Steve the benefit of the doubt and assume that was an attempt at sarcasm (about Gemini).

I'm also very much looking forward to giving Banshee a try this summer. In fact, since we moved North from the Columbus area we have not been down to Kings Island since the year before Diamondback debuted, so we have a lot to look forward to.

Promoter of fog.

GateKeeper was hinted at quite a bit during Coastermania, right? As far as I know, nothing was hinted at this year, which leads me to believe there won't be a major coaster addition next season.

I don't know about hinting at the ride directly. However, they did take the chance to officially announce the future removal of Disaster Transport and Space Spiral during lunch at CM 2012.

I do know for sure that last year during CoasterMania, they said that you wouldn't want to miss next years' event. Now, I know nothing major was suggested this year, or even hinted for that matter, but that makes me even more curious as to why they said that last year.

Not sure.. Maybe they were just planning on it being even better like it was. Or, maybe they had something in the longterm plans that didn't pan out. And, speculate!

I for one think they did everything to make CM a huge success this year. I was more than blown away with what the park had to offer us. I stand by what they said, you wouldn't have wanted to miss what they did for us Friday. If you think otherwise, wow, big sense of entitlement.

Just in case you're wondering where (which location) the one in Florida is going:

For a while, they weren't saying the exact location that it would be built until a few days ago.

That's because it's never going to get built. Mark my words.

Oh come on. First you hate on B&M flying coasters and now Polercoasters? What's next? :)

Nah, that was back in middle school.. Where did you hide that "change username" button, again?

It does not exist, because we don't want people doing that.

Thought so.

Honestly, by now we should really be over the whole "Next coaster has to be the tallest/longest/whatever" record-breaker mindset. You notice that a lot of the coasters built with the bigger-is-better mindset have been on their way out, namely the Summers & Dinn woodies and the Arrow mega-loopers, to start.

Record breakers are nice but anymore they just come off as marketing ploys, especially the more contrived they are. (Banshee as the world's first "female-inspired roller coaster", anyone?)

coaster are in our dna
