NEWS FLASH!!!! Track and supports sighted

"Dragster" is not going to be the ride's name. It's just Intamin's generic ride model name given to this type of ride, like the proper name for Witches Wheel is according to Huss is "Enterprise" and the proper name for White Water Landing to Arrow is "Hydroflume". I'm pretty sure you would have found a similar packing slip around the Xcelerator consruction site. What this tells me is that the trains will probably look like cars, a la Xcelerator.

If I were to guess, the first time I saw the pic of the packing slip, I though the "dragster" was just the industry name of that type of ride.

The "T-452" I thought was just the serial number, like Shivering Timbers is serial number "036" or something like that. Intamin, being a larger company, has a few divisions like building towers, flatrides, simulators, consulting, etc. One of those divisions is "thrill rides". I would think that is where the "T-" came from. Then seeing the packing slip from MF, and it was like "T-415", the serial numbers are probably in order, and Intamin definately could have built about 40 thrill rides in the last few years.

Soopergirl... we have already established that T-452 is the project number as MF's was T-411... and we all know that MF is not 411ft tall.

users.adelphia.net/~frank126/cp/19.jpg Notice near the bottom, it says under quantity, 136. Could this mean only 136 track pieces?

If you look below it says Pallet no. 7. I don't know for sure but this could mean that there is at least 6 other bundles of track?

Xcelerator has a 50's car theme, and it's packaging slip says "Grease". "Dragster" probably means a Hot Rod theme. Mabey it's going to be an American Hot Rod theme. The name itself will have to do with drag racing, and the color scheme will be American.

If it does duel (which would be likely if you consider theme and capacity, but unlikley if you consider space and money) there will be one red track, and one white track which with MF should give the skyline the whole red, white, and blue effect. If it dosn't duel it would have the multicolored top hat.

The quantity "136" could be the number of containers that the track was shipped overseas in. If you look next to the quantity, it says "Track:" and I can make out "M 24 x 250". That could be the size of the container. Anything COULD be, so we'll just have to wait and see.

Whenever somebody says Hot Rod, it always looks like Hot Dog to me. Anybody else confuse the Hot Rod theme with a Hot Dog theme? The All American Hot Dog vs. the Polish Sausage....

I highly doubt they will duel, just because 1. Cedar Point really doesn't show much of an interest into theming 2. Two rides would cost a lot 3. If you look at it, the CP skyline already has red, white, and blue (MF, Magnum, and Power Tower)

Xcelerator only cost 13 million.

Now that may be so, but this also could be twice the size of Xcelerator...

Shiping containers come in two sizes 40 footers and 20 footers (Unless you talk about highway ones which come in the same sizes as trucks but can't go on ships). The heights can vary a little bit though. I would assume track would come in 40 footers.

Welcome back Magnum riders how was your ride?

With two different colors of track arriving this week at CP, I firmly believe we will see 2 roller coasters next year. First of all, CP wants to put the coaster count dispute to rest for good, not just untill SFMM builds another, and once again claims a tie. Secondly, no matter how I picture it in my head, 2 different colors of track on one ride looks incredibly tacky and strange. However, I will monitor the track shipments daily since I live 5 minutes from the park, and if I see blue track, then I will buy this red, white and blue tophat idea.

If CP is going to make huge ride investments 2 years in a row, then they must be going all out. With that being said, all the facts point towards a 400+ footer launched coaster to settle all record issues. I think the highly talented engineers at Intamin are smart enough to figure out a way to build CP a launched coaster with the required ride capacity.

For the second coaster, I wouldn't rule out an Intamin flying-coaster. I know many of you have already dismissed this possibiltiy, but I can't help but wonder. CP built WT to outdo Superman:Ultimate Escape at SFWoA. The only reason I would make the 1 and a half hour trip to SFWoA now would be to ride X-Flight, it's the only ride unique to that park. Once CP builds bigger and better rides than those that were unique to SFWoA, there will be absolutely no reason to go there. Not that there was any reason to go there in the first place.

That would be nice to see. But then where would they put an Intamin flying coaster.
And yes i know that do have room to put an Intanim flier somewhere.

I think an Intamin Flyer would look really sweet across the lagoon, but you have to realize that if this is for two roller coasters, it just might not be that far out of the question. Anyways, I am not ruling out the flyer idea, but I think it is very unlikely.

I agree that CP wants the coaster count record, and they want to crush SFWoA, but I doubt an Intamin Flyer is coming next year. It would be easier to make the rocket coaster dueling and then call it two coasters to get the coaster count. The rocket coaster is going to draw in a lot of people, building a flyer also wouldn't make that much of a difference. It would be better if they build one in 2005.

Does Intamin make Flyers?

Intamin doesn't have any flyers out there right now, but I think I remember reading somewhere that the company was looking into it and stuff.

I agree that a flying coaster is certainly not the most likely addition for next year, I just said don't rule it out. If indeed there are 2 coasters going in next year, what could the other possibly be? While dueling coasters would be awesome, I just can't see it happening.

Curiosity is driving me crazy!

RAPTOR: "Up in Smoke"

Intamin doesn't make flying coasters, yet. So I doubt that the point will get one this year (or at all). As people know Cedar Point isn't in to buying non-tested rides.

I'm still hoping that B&M got back with Intamin to build a flying rocket coaster. The track is still Intamin style, but the ride will combine the speed and height of Intamin with the loops, turns, drops, and other elements of B&M.

Dream on buddy. ;)

If they only spent $9 million on WT and $25 million on MF they should still have enough money to at least build 1 big coaster and maybe even two but I realy don't think they will build two.
