He's asking why they'd assembly track pieces on the ground, instead of in-place on the supports, something I was wondering myself...

You spread bogus rumors and expect not to get flamed? I don't think any of us have to be nice. Knowingly spreading bogus rumors are strictly against the TOS.

June 28th: LocoBazooka Tour (Sevendust headlining)
July 11th: Korn, Puddle of Mudd, and Deadsy

Big wup, she was a fake, who cares? I mean really, we all know that something new and big is coming and is all that matters. Who knows, maybe she thought that was the truth at the time.

Anyways, this thread is really going nowhere now. Perhaps it is time to close it because whenever something new happens, usually another thread is started.

I don't think that the blue prints for the ride would change...she claimed that her uncle had seen them and told her what it was.

June 28th: LocoBazooka Tour (Sevendust headlining)
July 11th: Korn, Puddle of Mudd, and Deadsy

Hi everyone! I'm a long time reader of this site but have never been compelled to post before until now. I've reading alot of the Area 51 "rumors" the last 2 weeks and wanted to chime in on what will most likely happen with the Point next year. My background: I've been giong to the Point since 1976 and have followed ALOT of construction progress in the off-season the last 26 years so it's always fun for me to read these discussions. My post will be sure to change some of your thoughts about a "top hat" rocket coaster. The top hat part is most likely NOT a reality. Anyhow, here goes: To get a firm grasp of how CP does alot of their construction planning for the next few years, you have to first have an "overhead(aerial) view of what we're dealing with here. Hence, everyone check the overhead photo on virtualmidway.com to get a grasp of what I'm talking about here. Let me clear up one thing first. Think of how the land layout (construction site) sits after CP tore out Troika/Chaos recently. We're talking a STRAIGHT LINE folks all the way to "area 51" Think Superman at SFMM with its tracks but now picture this in the area currently at CP. Picture the launch zone being where the Nacho stand was by Power Tower and the upward vertical track shooting up at Area 51.. If you know the park you'll know what I'm talking about. **There will be no "building up" of footers/supports on Millenium Island. The construction equipment is in place there currently to "tear down", yes carve out part of the island so the Paddlewheel boats can get through the channel for next year (move the current channel over to the left of where it currently sits, hence paddlewheel will travel CLOSER to Millenium track. Hard to explain(look at aerial photo)>>The cut out part of land by the "boardwalk area with lights" leading over to Chaos(right above where Chaos sat and where the boats are stored) will be filled in with DIRT! Yes that's right. There has to be "land" around where the new ride is going to go for supports and currently there is a small inlet of water to the right here that will be no longer. If you've been a long time visitor of CP, you know that CP has changed the landscaping of this area a few times over the last 3 decades with the island and area by Iron Dragon. Since this area is being filled in, the boats travel position in the water channel at 3o'clock (the loading dock being 12:00) has to be "shifted" since there will be land next year where the channel currently is ! Confused?? I'll post more later. Hope this helps everyone. Sorry the post is so long, promise the rest will be shorter. Have fun!!!

CPfan76, did you know you swallow 6 spiders in your lifetime?

;)

So THATS whats going to happen...hmm....I can see so clearly now :\

I'm sorry, but if you're saying a reverse freefall like S:TE right? Well, why's the track different, two parallel lines of footers, and most of all magnetic brake track with the fins on the track?

Interesting post, CPfan76... although are you trying to say that you think that the new coaster will be like Superman at SFMM? You started talking about that but then went off about PWE (which I like your thoughts on).

Forcedude, that's EXACTLY what I'm saying. Are there not parallel lines of footers under S:TE? Where is your second tower for a "top hat" going to be placed? Certainly not in the middle of the water or on Millenium Island. Does CP not want to reclaim the title for Tallest/fastest rollercoaster on the planet? SteelDragon took the "regular circuit" title with another 400ft. full circuit version being currently planned in Europe (Germany if I'm not mistaken) and S:TE holds the current title. Think about it, they've already taken away a part of SFWoA competition by building Wicked Twister. "If you can't beat em', join em but make it bigger!"

There are a couple problems with your theory CPfan76 of a reverse freefall. One, Jeff has basically all but said its going to be a rocket coaster. And two, Cedar Point does not count S:TE as a coaster, so why would they build something and call it a coaster when they have denied it being one for so long? I am interested to see where the second tower is going to be though, if there is one.

I am thinking (and have been thinking) that the one giant tower will support the whole top-hat... Not sure how, but seems realistic.
I don't see a need to do any real lagoon shifting here. There looks to be plenty of space to fit all of the launch/top hat structure within the straight, broad swath between the old site of Dodgem all the way down to Corkscrew. The boat launch area could be easily bridged, support-wise to minimize impact there.

Additionally, it seems possible that the top hat may reverse the trains 180 degrees. Although it IS inevitable that "Dragster" will cross over to Millennium Island somewhere, doing a 180 makes makes some sense: it minimizes "Dragster's" impact on PWE by not crossing to the island right near or on top of the existing dock area.

And who says you need two separate towers to support a tophat (well...reverse tophat actually)? With this thing rumored at 400+ feet tall, wouldn't it make more sense to have a tower similar to that for the first overbanked turn on MF?

The two main sopports the catwalk is between have connectors coming out the front. Both of them have these. Supports would be connected there and to track. I was figuring, one was for up and the other for down.

well, I talked to my uncle today, he said that there is 2 new shipments coming in on the 16th....he also said that they just got the total construction plans for track one... 389ft...and there is another track.

Just a reminder...the 16th is upon us.

Raptor 2, you're right CP doesn't count S:TE as a "coaster" but Guiness Book of World records does. This is the one distinction that truly matters in the coaster world. Who says CP would even consider it a coaster?; Guiness would though! Think about it, for most people's theory of the coaster to be built across to Millenium island, tracks would have to go across the lagoon at 2-3 different places. This would totally screw with PWE's theming. They already did this once w/ MF. Also tracks would have to be raised to allow passage of PWE. This simply doesn't seem like a reality to me. Does anyone think they are going to close PWE? Not me. What a better way for CP to use some of the last salvagable land they have left to build coasters on and start 2003 on TOP of the coaster world! Trust me, CP surprises with things when you least expect them. In my 26 years of going this is the first time they've built two coasters in back to back years.

yeah, she claims that more stuff is arriving on the 16th...yet this is a monday, and no one can verify it until saturday, really...which gives her an entire week for track to arrive. given the odds, its really a meaningless statement.

but i probably shouldn't waste time. she's obviously a fraud.
