I have a question....with all the thought of this being a dueling or racing coaster, why arent we seeing more white track?...I have seen several red pieces...but only 2 white pieces....my thought was a red and white alternating track layout for the launch or tophat to emphasize the magnitude of the ride

Well I noticed this when I was at the park on Saturday and Sunday. If you look at this picture, that footer with I-Beams around it looks exactly like the one to the East part of the site. So.. Is this for just one tower or two? Now we don't know if it's dueling or not? I'm thinkin' (and hoping) that it is. But the only thing that hinders my thinking is the fact that there is 3 times as much red track as there is white track. Now this may just be the way the shipping has worked out. But we'll see what develops ('I think he was framed' {Gotta love the PWE jokes}) this week since, as I believe Dan said in another thread, 'The park is closed 10 of the next 14 days in September.'

How could it break a record for steepest? There are all ready coasters with 90 degree drops...unless it curved under itself....
It will not race. or duel. and if I'm wrong, I'll eat my own foot. My theory is that "Dragster" really is indicative of the ride's theme, and the white track will simply play into this--likely a finish line of sorts.
I hope this isn't another 'SAD' CP attempt at theming,. I sure hope if they do a dragster theme it stays aparent for more than 2 or 3 years, and it is actually cool.

It depends on what you consider a "tower". Look at any pic of Xcelerator's top hat and you will see that it uses two of the same tower structures for support (one for the up side, one for the down side). This could explain why it would be for two towers.

From what I understand, there will be less of one color track either way because only one side will be extra tall, the other will be lower (needing less track) but fast as hell.
If it's gonna be fast, it's gonna be tall. If it's gonna be tall, it's gonna be fast.

Yeah, I get it kristina. If everything you have said right now is correct, this should be considered two coasters. They both will have (apperintly) very different stats and such.

How would the coaster have 2 different heights?
That is if it duels. If it does it would be two coasters. One could be one hight, the other could be a different hight.

When I read that, the first thing that came to mind was a ride like Batman and Robin: The Chiller at SFGAdv, which is essentially a shuttle with similar, but different layouts.

It doesn't make sense though, to have one ride go much higher than the other, and the other go faster... Seems to me that you'd need more speed to clear the greater height, and if one goes 115 (or thereabouts) MPH with a 400' tower, and the other goes 120 MPH with a 300' tower, the latter would be a hell of a lot more intense, possibly to the point where the g's (both pos. and neg.) would be way over tolerance levels.

I-Nar, thats part of the reason why it is very hard to believe.

What if the launch was slow and long like Superman: The Escape at Six Flags Magic Mountain. I mean there is little G's there right? (Except negative)
Superman: TE uses Linear Synchronous Motors (LSMs) for the launch. That's why it takes a "long" time ("long" compared to thrust airs and Xcelerator). This would use something totally different, a hydraulic launch system.
