TTD_120mph - Looking at your outline photo, the two footers are not square to each other. If you look at where your line ends on the back footer, and look just past it you can see the corner of that footer. It runs at an angle that is slightly off from the line you drew. I don't think this is one big footer.

It could be one big footer, with the protrusions offset from one another. I think that his outline may just be wrong. It would probably make more sense for it to be one big one, considering (as Grovite mentioned above) that B&M will often use one anchor point for several supports.

Looking at the pictures and tracing the edges (as best I can from a picture) it doesn't look like one piece. I may be mis-seeing something though, so I wouldn't be surprised if I was wrong.

Same here - my eyes can never be trusted.
However, if you look at the far corner on the nearest side, I think it actually extends farther than the outlined pic shows. Considering that, the corner would then (approximately) line up with the farthest corner.

Its fun trying to guess what it could possibly be. At this point it could be just about anything and all of these guesses as to what it could be are a lot fun to imagine.
I think it might be two dualing Setpoint Soaker coasters. You 'Shoot' water, which could go along with the "Maverick" name, it also fits in with the Frontier theme. And having two coasters, the low capacity problem would be solved, plus it replaces a water ride with another water ride. It's also a very family-friendly attraction. It could even go over the existing rapids ride as it is adjacent to the site.
I think the footprint for this new ride could even stretch over to where the antique cars are. You could easily have supports placed in the open areas and still maintain the car track.
LOTS of Pie in the Sky ideas!
For all of you who think construction could start as early as Late July or August. I would like to remind you of the railroad and the midways. I don't think they will start erection of supports or any other kind of major visible changes until September. Safety is the main reason. You can't have that kind of vehicle traffic occuring over the railroad during the end of peak season. Be it cement trucks for more footers, or any kind of large vehicle for that matter. You can't risk a vehicle malfunction on that particular railroad. The CP maintenance department crosses the tracks back there in their vehicles during the day throughout the season for ride maintenance and repairs, but that is still very sparingly compared to construction traffic. If the railroad isn't enough you have all the attractions back there anyways. It would virtually need to be a hard hat area back there for hopefully obvious reasons. I don't think CP is going to hand out hard hats to every guest just to get a warm head start on a new project.
Now TTD construction did start in August if anyone remembers, but it was minor clearing, with equipment they put in there during the overnight hours. Still it was unvisible changes in that very small (walled in) area to work in. So if they do start during mid-season I would expect it to be with equipment installed overnight, and minor land moving to get things set for major work in September...
JuggaLotus. I think the other tarp might be throwing you off. It looks to me like the only part of the other set of anchor bolts we can see is the tarp covering it. It could be sticking out quite a bit from the other one.

I think the only people who will see supports going up while at the park are those of us who go to Halloweekends.
Also, in regards to the "roller-soaker" idea mentioned above...that just doesnt fit CP's mantra. I could be way off, but that doesnt seem like anything worth any kind of hype, or something Kinzel would like to go out with (yes, Im one of those who really believes he wants to go out with some type of bang).
I think Tony and Tyler could not wait to put that on the blog...just to see the response...and then wait another month to throw out another bone.
Can we all agree that there is no way to tell what manufacturer or type of ride this is from the picture? The analysis is fun, for exploratory purposes, but I dont think its actually leading anyone anywhere, except an awesome time killer at work (or school).
#1 Tony & Tyler say only what they are allowed to say. I'm sure everything they post has to be OK'ed.
#2 What's coming in 2007 is anyone's guess. Coaster? Flume? Hydro looping woodie? We'll just have to wait and see.
"Dick Kinzel's going out with a bang" is just crap. This is a public traded company, folks. Unit Holders?Board Members? Have you heard of those?
End of rant.

Mayor, Lighthouse Point
roller-soaker
There's another reason not to install a roller-soaker, as much as I'd love to see one (they are tons of fun), and that's poor capacity. The Carowinds model is listed with only 600 THRC, and probably doesn't even hit that. You could bump that up some by separating load and unload, *maybe*.
The only way I could imagine CP installing a roller-soaker is by installing two, back-to-back, a la Primeval Whirl at Animal Kingdom.

Which was my point in my post, but I was thinking more along the lines of Fire and Ice at Universal - except Soakers. When they crossed over each other, you could dump water on the one below.
CP's new attractions all ways seems to brake some kind of a record, and the next thing that they all seem to have is high capacity. (which is a good thing)

RIDE ON, and ON and ON and ON and ON and ON...
Hello I'm back to this site again. I usually am here about 3 or 4 times a week. Is there more pictures posted of the Footers being poured? Mr. Scott I know you said Tony & Tyler said they can only say so much, but as we get further and further into the season they'll be able to give more and more clues of what this could be. When Top Thrill Dragster was being built, people kind of knew what this would be because things were coming in that said Top Thrill on the Crates. Hopefully this is a coaster and we'll be able to judge just by looking at the track that is shipped into the parking lot.

Witches are never a good thing. They turn people into Newts and weigh just as much as ducks.

^I knew it was time for me to make another silly spelling mistake. That is the one thing I really don't like about this site is when I get made fun of things like that. (I know I will never do that to some one)
