News: Cedar Point blog shows footers at WWL site

I still feel that CP is in competition with a park 2500 miles away. They have placed themselves in a catagory that has surpassed any other parks in the world except a few.

As far as the station being there, I have mixed feelings as There is a lot of nice lumber worth saving and/or, if it can be recycled as a new station, it still blends in well with the frontiertown setting without losing any more of the relaxing atmosphere of the area. (Still love the shop made out of bottles). The whole area of frontier town has always been my area of zen during a busy day. I can rest my weary feet in a cool spot. Anyway, I digress.......(A.D.D., I have the attention span of a knat. Sometimes I can not even complete a full)

Except for enthusiasts CP is not in any real business competition with SFMM. If you were to ask guests at SFMM if they knew what CP was or where it was I bet that you would find probably 80% or more couldn't tell you. The same would go for CP; ask some guests if they've heard of Magic Mountain, and make sure they aren't coaster enthusiasts either. Sure CP may have a small national campaign, but it isn't really big.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

For those who think that CP is getting a 4D coaster and reusing the WWL station, do you really think the WWL station can be used for a 4D? I don't, even if the loading area is on a curve.

I'm going with those that think a high tech flume/water ride for the entire family is being built.

I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.

I think one of the issues is that people are equating "family ride" with the word "boring"; especially after two straight years of flats. I dont know if Ive ever made a "prediction", and I wouldnt pretend to know what is coming, but I think it would be safe to say this: Whatever it is, it will be the fastest, tallest, steepest....something. Magnum, Raptor, Mantis, WT, MF, TTD, Maxair, Skyhawk...

All the above are the tallest, fastest, steepest, etc of their kind when they arrived.

Will it be a flume? Well, if it is, it will be the tallest, fastest, steepest....just like WWL was when it came out.

Will it be a "family ride", well, the pattern will repeat.

I personally think it will be some type of coaster that has nothing to do with water. But I know, whatever it is, it will be a record breaker, and one of a kind.

I really don't feel that we're getting a water coaster.....but that's just my opinion.
I, personally, would love to see either a 500 footer or a nice inverter be built.

Only 57 more days untill we have more clues to work with.:)

CP and SFMM are on opposite sides of the country. Six Flags is a well known amusement park chain, Cedar Point isn't a name that is thrown all around North America.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

I would like to see a new flume similar to Disney's Splash Mountain, yet much larger and longer with great special effects.

I would rather have no effects at all then Disaster Transport-type effects. And, I don't mean that as a vast criticism of the Point...it is just that special effects are not their strong suit.

I would still like to see an interactive area over there. Maybe the superflume combined with a "soaker" coaster so that the coaster riders could spray the folks on the flume (and on Thunder Canyon for that matter). Kids who didn't ride either attraction might be able to shoot water from guns on the midway or the Thunder Canyon overlook.

Speaking of the Blog...

No mention of TTD as an Adrenaline Booster:

"In 2006, you’ll wake up to these major adrenaline boosters:

Skyhawk, maXair, Raptor and the #1 steel roller coaster in the world, Millennium Force (insert futuristic techno music here)."

and this:

"We’ll “dive into” Live Entertainment as they prepare for the season."

Dive? as in Dive Machine?

I'm just kidding... don't speculate too much.

^Hey, Coastern3rd, I just read your sig. Enjoy the Vette supremacy while it lasts, because those days are numbered - even with the 600hp.

Okay, back on topic...

Brandon

hahaha.

Sure... notice the + sign next to the number 600.. That number refers to the C7 and not the Blue Devil which was seen being tested at over 900...

The last person to say the Vette's days were numbered was Bob Lutz when he developed the Viper. Bob works for GM now...

Hahaha.... ow ... my sides *** Edited 3/10/2006 7:19:31 PM UTC by Coastern3rd***

3 words...

Third Generation Viper

Plus, I'd be impressed if GM can stay in business, let alone build a supercar.

;)

Hey Hey Hey, it could be worse for GM. Their presidents name could be Ford.

Oh, how true...

Brandon

Oh, now come on.. tell me you're not serious.

First.. the frame needs to lose about 500 lbs to even be in the same league as this generation Vette. The fuel pump needs a boost in pressure and they need to find a way to keep it on the ground.

Even the Chrysler execs admit they cannot touch the vette engineers.

Oh yea... who posted bigger numbers last year..

1. GM
2. Ford
3. DCX

GM's doing fine.. don't listen to the media..

GM's doing just fine (last July I leased a Cobalt and my wife a Malibu). But my dream car will always be a Viper.

Goodbye MrScott

I have a Cobalt S.S./SC as my primary car and my girl has the LT2 Sedan... They are great cars...

Ok... enough about cars... I'm gettin all fired up for this years races at Milan.

So they're putting cars into the WWL spot? Or did I just do a timewarp through a page of conversation..
