It seems to me that the photo was taken around the area where the extra Thunder Canyon boats are held. That little bulding you can see on the left side of the Register photo (under TTD) appears to be the Wave Swinger control building. If this is true, we have some pretty wide-spread construction going on... You can see what I'm talking about here:

It appears that everything you can see in the Register photo would line up appropriately.

Speaking of the Blog...
No mention of TTD as an Adrenaline Booster:
"In 2006, you’ll wake up to these major adrenaline boosters:
Skyhawk, maXair, Raptor and the #1 steel roller coaster in the world, Millennium Force (insert futuristic techno music here)."
and this:
"We’ll “dive into” Live Entertainment as they prepare for the season."
Dive? as in Dive Machine?
I'm just kidding... don't speculate too much.
^ sorry i dont know how to quote these things but what ever.......
i dont think they meant "dive into" as in dive machine, i think everyone looks at their posts and thinks omg new coaster too too hard, i took it as they meant the dive show they have every year?
Our tounges our sharp quick this is getting out of hand so tonight were going out in armor dressed to kill
The photo appeared in the Sandusky Register's print edition on Friday. It did not appear on their web site. I have a copy of Friday's paper, but until I find out if that is for Internet consumption, I'm going to pull the link.
I was told, recently in fact, that the site (and indeed the park itself) was off limits to media access. So until I find out for sure what is and is not allowed, I'm going to play it safe and dump the link.
Wow, I no sooner click on the link, checkout the photo, close the photo, look back and the link is gone! pretty trixy, fast on the draw! Walt we could start calling you Maverick, the quickest in the Heartland! C.Y.A.!!!

Not that quick, it had been up fo 6 hours.
Just out of curiosity, how can a picture printed in a newspaper not be for internet consumption? Media is media is media...right? (no, im not trying to be sarcastic, im actually curious about why something like this is pulled).
Either way, I dont know how it shows anything we dont already not know. Except...
ps...couldnt the person responsible for this be in just a teensy but of trouble? Seeing as how this site is off limits

Well either someone took the picture and decided to put it in a news paper which would be an extremely stupid move or CP is actually allowing "SOME" small media leakage. But then why would they do that if they know that it can get seen by a CP fan and get through the internet and become bigger news faster than you can say pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis (real word):).

Well, round supports dont equal a wooden coaster, and round rebar would lend itself towards a round support, correct?
Correct. It's a steel (in general), no doubt.
Oh and for anyone who has seen the picture:

look similar??;)

Hmmmm... My curiosity is running rampant.
Sadly, I seemed to have missed the 6-hour window in which the link was working. So, for those that cannot see it could someone please describe what the photo contained? I'm assuming more footers and such, but it would be nice to get a full breakdown, since it seems to have stirred up quite a reaction.
That's still well within the bouds of legality, right Walt? :)

Thats why I said I was kidding...
The photo shows 2 footers with maybe 2 feet of rounded rebar sticking out. The photo shows Skyhawk in the background, you can also see what someone said looks like the Wave Swinger mechanical shed (maybe?), anyhoo, that proximity puts these footers very close to Thunder Canyon. It might even be the same footers that Tony & Tyler posted over a week ago.
Only with the blue tarp removed. So...it looks like all of those dreaming of a woodie (no pun intended) will have to wait a bit longer.
