Just kidding. Actually it looks magnificent! I can't wait to ride!
My author website: mgrantroberts.com.
Gary Gast is one of the real good guys at Cedar Point. He is a man that makes things happen. I'm happy he is getting some much deserved attention.
As for the ride...very cool. Looks like it will be very re-rideable. Still bummed about the loss of a great flume ride...but this coaster looks to impress.
I just hope they don't axe the theming ala Snake River.

I really like the 48" ride requirements on these last two additions (Skyhawk and Maverick).
It was/is a real negative that you have to pay full price for a someone who was 48" tall, but they couldn't ride Mantis, MaXair, Power Tower, Raptor, TTD, Wicked Twister, and Witches Wheel.
Platinum has it's perks. So does living exactly 97.5 miles from King's Island and Cedar Point
Cool Cool Cool! I've been sooo busy with work the last few days, I lost track of time!!! I remember the snoopy on the cp site and however many days he said until the announcement... I thought it was like 8... SURELY it hasn't been 8 days already!!! I was totally surprised to see the announcement this morning. Wow time flies when you're a business consultant working 16 hour days :(. I'll look forward to riding Maverick next summer!

Sorry, another thought. I'm curious
Does anyone know if the restraint system on Maverick will be more accomodating to guests of larger stature than the t-bars/seatbelts on Dragster and TTD?

Interesting Fact:
As far as height goes, Maverick will now fall dead center in CP's Collection of 17 Coasters:
Jr Gemini - 19'
Woodstock Express - 43'
CCMR - 48'
Wildcat - 50'
Disaster Transport - 63'
Iron Dragon - 76'
Blue Streak - 78'
Corkscrew - 85'
Maverick - 105'
Gemini - 125'
Raptor - 137'
Mantis - 145'
Mean Streak - 161'
Magnum XL-200 - 205'
Wicked Twister - 215'
Milennium Force - 310'
Top Thrill Dragster - 420'
Also notice, that before Maverick, there were 40 feet between Corkscrew and Gemini... look who falls right inbetween? Oh CP... how clever... ;)

Awesome! I cannot wait to ride this bad boy next year. It will make buying my maxx pass even sweeter.
This coaster does look like it will be a fun ride...but...
something about this seems a bit ho-hum to me.
Bigger is not necessarily better- Boulder Dash is in my top 3 favorite coasters, for example.. and I was not expecting a 500 footer... but on one level or another I was expecting a bit more with this coaster.
But if it is as fun as it looks, and they plant all of those TREES in the pictures... I'll be happy with it. But I still miss WWL.
If they plant trees I'll be a much more happy camper too!
After riding Stealth at Thorpe Park rest assured the restraints will not be an issue. I still wish we could see more looping rides with lap bars like the Premier rides but those OTSR's are awesome.
Anybody psyched for those two overbanked Stengal-esque dive moves? They look pretty intense. Also, I think the roll is going to be very intense seeing as how you'll be going through it at a fairly impressive speed.
See ya in the Spring!
It looks okay. I like the scenery.
The good news is that I'll be able to ride Millennium Force more next year because everyone will be in line for Maverick!
Who called it on the 2 launches? And how many more of you knew about it before the announcement?

Jeff did you shoot those interviews? Or were you generally commenting on it?
Yes, I shot them in HD. The "great great tunnel" clip with Kinzel is not great because that was my first time out with that camera. It's not as heavy as typical old school pro cameras, so it had a lot of movement as I got settled. Shooting in the access ramp on Thunder Canyon didn't help either. But the rest of the clips I was pretty happy with. I'm more accustomed to the new toys now so hopefully future stuff will be more consistent. The Web shop did a nice job with the compression.

Jeff, when are you going to be @ CP next?
EDIT: I'm sorry. I should've asked that in a private message....

When did you shoot those? Beginning of the season? Or have you gotten a new camera since then?

Wow I can't believe I missed the annoucement, I guess I was expecting it to be annouced on todays date, oh well. I usually stay up every night until like 1am or 2am, but have been under the weather lately so I had to get some rest. I'm still sick right now, but that's not stopping me from checking out Cedar Point's newest coaster. Maverick! I some how always knew that this coaster would be named Maverick. I am surprised that they are adding rock mountains for the coaster, that's going to look really cool next year.
I am excited and look forward to riding this coaster next year. I do have one comment though, the first video with the western look going down the midway must have been done after Cedar Point closed after Labor Day. I like how they did that, it almost looks like your riding a horse with that footage. It's neat how they are going to use the White Water Landing station, very awesome! It would've been a shame had they torn it down. What's great about this coaster as well that no one pointed out is that this will bring more people on Mean Streak, which to me is still a great coaster. Great Job Cedar Point! I am looking Forward to riding Maverick next summer.
