News: CEDAR POINT ANNOUNCES DETAILS ON NEW ROLLER COASTER; MAVERICK WILL RUSTLE UP RIDERS IN 2007

This is really amazing. I know a lot of people that prefer a fun ride to OMQ5000FEET, so they will be VERY pleased with this. I personally think it looks great, 95 degree drop will be interesting...

Also, I agree with everything everyone else said about the website, it's really amazing. First thing I did when I woke up this morning was go to check out the blog, and from there on to the maverick site. Totally pumped :)

I personally like Gary Gast. This is the first we've heard from him, and look at him already pulling out jokes:

Gary Gast in the first construction diary said:
We did a lot of work with soil borings, to find out what’s below the surface for the foundation of this ride. We don’t want it to sink like Magnum—just kidding, Magnum’s really not sinking, that’s just the rumor we get asked about all the time.

WHAT!?!?! MAGNUM'S SINKING!?!?!?! :)

Is it me or does Monty sound like President Bush!?

Yes he does and Monty said bunny hump, I found that very amusing

This is going to be a wonderful coaster and I cant wait to ride.

I am trying to figure out what the building is that you go past just after the first hill.it has a pipe leading up to it that is coming out of the ground.

Theaming or a functional part of the ride? Any guesses.

Looks like what Cedar Point needed, a flat-out fun ride.

Fun Stuff.

Well, just as I suspected. Removed one family ride for another one. Good, it looks like it will be fun.

Oh yeah, umm, like I always said ... it isn't an Aquatrax either.

It looks like the station will look pretty much like WWL station. I think WWL will be a gift shop or photo booth.

A second launch? "Im so exited and I just cant hide it."

WWL's station will be used as part of the queue.

Y'know, along with all those pretty pictures, there is some actual information in the form of text. Of course, reading is harder than looking, apparently.

Reading? Could you pllease explaing this concept to me. As I only got 3 hours of sleep last night, I'm typing with my eyes closed here. :) I love the fact that you only need to be 48" to ride. My nephew is 47.5" this year and will have a bunch of new thrills to experience next year.

So I was thinking of the teasers. I get most of them but I still don't get the "put 2 and 2 together."

first.. babycakes, i dont think "put 2 and 2 together" actually had anything to do with the ride itself.. I think what they meant was.. Old ride being removed + new footers = new ride..

second, Im happy to see everyone is actually EXCITED about this ride! I dont see anyone actually saying "oh this ride will suck, only 105 ft high.. bla bla bla"

I cant wait for 2007!!

How do I make the Avatar fit for use on here?

I'm interested to see how the six train system is going to work. From what I've seen, only two run at a time.

Just guessing from the drive wheel placements in the POV:

Train 1: dispatches from load half of the station at the same time as...

Train 6: starts launch in tunnel (these are the 2 trains running the course);

Train 2: moves from unload half of station to load half;

Train 3: moves from "hold 1" position just behind the station into the unload half of the station;

Train 4: moves from the "hold 2" position just before the final turn into the 2nd level to the "hold 1" position.

Train 5: moves from the "brake block" over the turn into the 1st corkscrew to the "hold 2" position.

This all relies on the station actuall housing 2 trains, which I believe is an accurate assumption for 2 reasons: 1) that station looks way to big to house just one 3 car train; and 2) from the POV, there only appears to be access to the station from the midway side (indicating that you won't enter the train from one side and exit from the other).

Where's the water, Mr. Scott???

You go under a waterfall while you do the inline roll. Duh.

Am I the only one bummed about this? There goes my whole 'Son of Disaster Transport' theory....

While I agree regarding your assumptions about the station, the CP Mav site says "Elevated single load/unload station".
