News: 2007 Season Passes on sale September 22

Loopy's avatar

Honestly guys, most all of us feel the same way here so we can stop posting about how it's going to affect us. Take the time to go to www.cedarfair.com and send an e-mail to them, that's the only way anything's going to be done about this.

Loopy - nothing is set for next year. If there is a big enough backlash, they will change it. The problem is creating that backlash in a way they can see it.

You're right though, letters will need to be sent to Cedar Fair as they are the ones making it policy for all parks.

Goodbye MrScott

John

Thanks for the answer to the decal question, Walt. It's obvious the comment/question section I filled out two days ago on the CP Website isn't getting me any answers...including whether the regular CP season pass is good at the previous CF parks, but I think I already know the answer to that.

Why do I feel like I'm paying more and getting less?

I'd rather die living than live like I'm dead

If it was that much of a problem with people cheating the parking system. Just get rid of the parking pass on the car or season pass. make everyone pay to park. then the people with a season parking pass just need to go to guest services and get a refund of the parking fee. If you don't have a parking pass anyway just go to famous daves or the marina store. spend $20 bucks at either place and the parking gets refunded.

Then, you have to worry about people like me, who never carry cash. Ever.

That's one of the main reasons I decided to buy the parking pass a couple of years ago. The other, of course, is that there's no value in parking, at all. Customers have to look at their own ROI sometimes, too. :)

Why do I feel like I'm paying more and getting less?

Oo! I know the answer to this one!

Because you are?

More seriously, despite all these annoyances, I do still think the passes are a heck of a deal. We bought combo passes this year, and despite our best intentions never made it to GL or MiA. But, I certainly think we got more than our money's worth over the course of the summer at CP and SC.

I feel that letter writing is the better route to go than emailing or using the contact form. Unless you have the proper emails of those you need to contact, the chances of your email making it to the proper inbox is slim.

I don't think an email to investing@cedarfair.com is going to do all that much good. But maybe it could.

I've chosen to write letters directly addressed to the General Managers of the each of the parks involved. They should be the most concerned over our feelings toward the parking decision.

Mr. John Hildebrandt

Vice President / General Manager of Cedar Point

Cedar Fair L.P

One Cedar Point Drive

Sandusky, OH 44870-5259

Mr. Bill Spehn

Vice President / General Manager of Geauga Lake

Geauga Lake and Wildwater Kingdom

1060 North Aurora Rd.

Aurora, Ohio 44202

If you feel real ambitious....

Mr. Richard L. Kinzel

President & Chief Executive Officer

Cedar Fair L.P

One Cedar Point Drive

Sandusky, OH 44870-5259

Whatever you do to voice your opinion, don't do it with the contact from on the Cedar Point website. Write a well thought out letter explaining the inconvenience this causes, your disappointment at the new changes and ask them to reconsider the decisions they've made.

If your not sure if your letter is good enough, or if it might be too much, post it here first. We could review it for you before you send it off. (so that you don't make a fool of yourself. :))

Emails that may work more efficiently than the contact form...(Please don't bother these folks with other unrelated questions, like why Maverick wasn't built by B&M.)

She found it interesting since she hadn't received any e-mails in over a week.

I could be wrong, but I have heard that a number of the e-mail addresses are scanned for key words, and if they don't have those words, they are deleted, or redirected to an unmonitored account somewhere.

That earlier comment by OldCPer about feeling that you're paying more and getting less is right on the money... That's PRECISELY how it feels.

And while it may not be a whole lot more, you have to take it in the context of the hassle factor and the fact the park as a whole feels like a shadow of what it was a few years ago.

I seriously doubt I am going to renew my season pass for next year; combine the price hike with a percieved lowering of value, and I really have to ask myself if its worth it (just because it may actually be worth it doesn't entice me - it has to FEEL that way).

Usually I jump right in and buy my season pass certificates as soon as they go on sale, this year I just feel like CF is trying to rip me off.

Steve

The 25 dollar hike really adds up. for my family it equals $100 more per year. in 2 more years it will be 125 with the new addition to the family coming in the next few weeks. That is if they don't change the pricing for the 2 and under crowd. I don't think I will be able to continue my new family yearly tradition.

^^^ You mean CP is technologically advanced enough to have filters installed on their mail servers??? Get out!! :) Here I thought they had one mailbox that someone printed out emails and then put them into a physical mailbox for the employee. ha ha!!

So essentially, you could be correct Tim. The sad thing is that it wouldn't surprise me.

Yes Doug? You rang?

^^Follow man, follow...

You said you could be wrong about them having filters on their e-mail system and he thought they had a general mailbox that they all got printed out from. So esentially, he could have been right since you said you could have been wrong.

And I thought I was loopy..sheeesh

On a side note, the e-mail address for John Hildebrandt is not in operation.

Ahh, sorry... it's been a long day...

And Tim, it wasn't like everyone should be surprised about the filters, I was merely pointing out the fact that it may have gotten deleted due to them.

Oh I'm sure they have filters. I was just joking because everyone (including myself) has been bashing CP for not embracing technology.

A little more information on the season pass pricing. After Nov. 15, the MAXX Plus Pass will go from $149.95 to $164.95. The Cedar Point-only pass will go from $94.95 to $109.95. The new MAXX pass will remain $125. Buy early, buy often!

So, in a sense there is no early purchase discount for the regular MAXX pass. Grrrr.

I realize this thread is about CP 07 passes, but has anyone heard anything about Knott's passes for 07? I keep checking their website and there's nothing. They don't even have an email link on their website. geesh. I'm going to Knott's in March, so I'd need to get my 07 Maxx pass there. That's why I'm wondering.
