New ride... place your bets!

pictures are finally here, to view them here
Here are the pictures everyone has been waiting for  -  http://www.mattnevans.com/CP_2002/   And, yes, that does look like yellow Intamin track!   I am so excited!  Oh, sorry about that........it's already mentioned (but still really close to that post).

That's pure Intamin track, but it's crests of hills or the bottom dip of valleys.  When you zoom in you can tell that it's sitting with the indented cross bars going vertical like this:

It's not twisted in anyway.  This won't be like any other impulse by any means, if these are tops of hills or bottoms or valleys!  Maybe it will be full circuit!  Or just longer!

acttually.... that's probably the curved part coming out of the back spike of the impulse..

I never thought of that... :)
It looks like if you put those three pieces of track together you could create one curved side of it.

I am going to take a look over there next week. I can't wait!

Yeah, it looks like they twist very slightly...and that's a very good thing. The original impulses have almost one segment per 90 degrees. These sections of track barely have any rotation, and that means more segments which means a much taller ride. Also, add another 90 degrees onto the top of the ride to make it have 450 degrees of rotation.

I just thought of this. Now will CP boast a record of the park with the most suspended coasters? Or is there another park with three?

That is definately Intamin track.  I'm still holding onto my hopes that whatever it is, it will be a full circuit.  Does anyone know what all those spools of cable could possibly be for?

Don't worry, I have a plan. I saw this in a movie about a bus that had to SPEED around the city, keeping its SPEED over 50, and if its dropped, it would explode. I think it was called "The Bus That Couldn't Slow Down".

PKI has three

No, PKI only has two (FaceOff and Top Gun, well, I guess that Scooby's Ghoster Coaster is one).  But I'm sure some other park(s)  also have three or four.  I bet that the cam will be up by early December giving us some nice pictures (or would that be cameras?).

I hope they do the construction diary again!

Former name was B-Town

If that is some type of cable (could be something like tarp), it might be a lot of electrical cable.
...but mostly fiber optics. If you've ever seen any coaster shows that feature S:UE you'll see all the fiber optics needed to run that thing. It's pretty cool to know that the computer knows within 1 cm of where the train is on the ride at all times.

Hey guys...I'm compiling a list of some of the website addresses that may be possible direct connections to the pics.  If you wanna take the time to change some numbers and stuff, you might find a "hidden" link or something.  We can all expect something from them CP them in the very near future (less than a week).  If you wanna know my guess, it's gonna be an Intamin Impulse with a little "extra".  Probably a greater twist on one of the spikes, double capacity, dueling...maybe even everything.  Guess we'll just have to wait for it.
we now have another nam on the cam "Fury Cam"
Spools of cable?!?  I've never been on an impulse that used spools of cable!  Or is that electrical cable?? hmmmm....this is gettting fun. :-D

Actually, PKI has 4 suspended/inverteds -- FaceOff, Top Gun, Reptar, and Ghoster Coaster.

As for the cable, impulses use LOTS of wiring and (apparently) fiber optics, so that could be what those pictures show...
