New ride... place your bets!

I was there Sunday for about 4 and a half hours the weather stunk and I had bowling.

Not to throw fuel in the fire but one person said "I'm surprised to see that they haven't cleared trees out for the floorless yet."  I think the person said that just to get a reaction out of me but it didn't work.

I heard a little Friday and a little today.  2 of the words I heard were hydraulic and tophat, and 2 of the numbers I heard were 206, 77. But I am nobody and a very unreliable source. Don't listen to me. Enjoy the ride next year.

That's at Knotts...

Wheres the Electricity!

Sigh.  I remember when I was the originator of the longest thread on CPPlace.  I close my eyes and feel like it was back in the day. But those times have long been through.

I'm not so sold on it being lauched anymore... I believe most of that came from the idea of confessing that S:TE was a coaster next year.  Maybe that will change considering, well, Cedar Point could wind up with more coasters anyway in 2002, say 16, while counting S:TE SFMM would just have 15.  I don't know, that's a far fetch idea, but I could see it's potential.

EXACTLY.  If CP adds one coaster, no matter what type it is, that would mean that they would dispute S:TE being a coaster so that they retain the record.  This doesn't necessarily mean that they're adding an impulse or some kind of launched coaster (though that would be pretty sweet).
My guess is still an Impulse.  And if no one has noticed yet, Jeff so astutely pointed out that the beach cam is gone...hmm...
Jeff's just being a meanie now...
BTW, I know this has been repeated many times by hundreds of psychotic obsessive people, but I'll ask nicely: do we have a set date for the announcement, or just a general "few weeks" timeline?

NITRO kicks it into high gear...only at Six Flags Great Adventure!
Track Record: 29 and counting...

Dual track, 500 feet, 120 mph, intamin, boardwalk project, suspense suspense. Just please keep the Schwabinchen lady and her ride, move her somewhere else, because she is a classic CP ride. Has anyone ever thought that it might be a launched shuttle, but continuous circuit as well? (connected at the top, instead of "spikes?") ???????????????

Ain't it though.  Could be that they bought two of what is going  in at Knott's.../P

Wouldn't that be cheesey? CF doesn't want to have clones of rides at all their parks like Paramount and Six Flags.  That would be very dissapointing for all; all rides should be unique, right?

Sorry, I have way too much time on my hands.  If you look at the terraserver picture of CP in 1995, you can see the relationship of landsize of Raptor and the beach area.  I thought that a Raptor sized ride or bigger would be able to fit conviently in that area (speculation...............).  That would mean a well designed ride would fit there (any manufacturer).

Wrong. You forget that enthusiasts account for a fraction of a percentage of people who visit the parks. John Q. Public doesn't care, and probably wouldn't recognize a Vekoma hang-n-bang from one park to the next if you didn't tell them.

Hell, I know some borderline enthusiasts that didn't initially realize that Hang-N-Bangs were cloned, let alone the GP.

(Of course, once I started pointing out things like that, they started noticing more ;) )

all i am hoping for is something exciting enough to get me to want to drive the long distance to cp. I have been losing my motivation to go to cp because god forbid six flags is becoming better and better, but if this ride is exciting and brings new elements to the standard impulse you will see me at the point in may.
Let's see...since there's no way in hell that will ever happen, I'll bet it won't. :)
