And perhaps like the DCA event they could sell novelty drinks (which apparently has made considerable money for the park) and special foods along with the usual nighttime glowing stuff. People always talk about the lack of nighttime activity at the park and the resorts, something like that might be able to address both in a way.
That's pretty much what The Starlight Experience is. I kinda expect that Luminosity is an extension of Starlight, expanding further into the park. At least I hope so!

While the Starlight Experience does cover Frontier Trail it doesn't have the "party" atmosphere of ElecTRONica and the upcoming Mad T Party. Perhaps the recent tweet and Facebook requests for songs that fans would like to hear at a "rockin' dance party at Cedar Point" might be the park trying to get a feel for the music of Luminosity.
"Thank the Phoenicians!"
Going back to the Terror Island discussion... I would like to see them do somethink like dorney did last year by adding a town facade, random props and even a very large pirate ship in the middle of the midway. It looks very spooky at night and I feel it would be a great fit for an area by Wicked Twister.

I do agree they need more zones near the front of the park. And by that token more houses at the back LOL.
Other than Fear Faire there are no Zones in the front half of the park. Half being from the Million Dollar/Dragster Midway forward. (I don't count Blood on the Bayou as front of park, though that pretty much straddles the line.) And of course by the same token there is only one house in the back half of the park (Eternity Infirmary.)
Though not sure about using the Windseeker midway for a zone anymore. With Windseeker and Planet Snoopy it becomes a little difficult to justify closing that midway to non-scary traffic. And I don't see them wanting to limit the ridership on Windseeker or even in Planet Snoopy (since they close down one entire kid section for Carnevil.)

In my opinion, the biggest issue with that midway (Carnevil's old home) is the width of it and the constant fog-killing wind coming off the lake. Obviously Carnevil proved it can be done, but with those two conditions, it almost by necessity becomes more of an immersive area filled with creepy people and less of a "pop out and scare you" type of zone like Terror Island previously has been. I only really visited old Carnevil once though, and the fog was good that night, so perhaps I'm way off about that. Zeek, your thoughts?
As Ken's link pointed out, an "immersive area filled with creepy people" can be pretty awesome. Judging by the pictures, Dorney's Cut Throat Island looks freaking sweet. Something similar could fit in well in quite a few locations throughout the park if they decide to go that route.

Coming from the original CarnEvil from 05-until they were moved, I really like the area. It gave it a FrightZone kind of feel where it was chaos. People entering and exiting from 3 areas(beach entrance) made it a lot of fun.
With that said it would take away from what Terror Island wa built on, and that's character. Terror Island, even when I was there, we focused on making some very deep characters and a lot of interaction with the guests. Going to an open Midway you will have to lose some of that because you don't really have the option of "resetting" and getting the next group that come through.
I do think that the old CarnEvil Midway would be a great spot for a zone. And I know it was moved because of Planet Snoopy being put in and having a Fright Zone next to a kid's area is somewhat of a bad idea, there are ways where it can be separated, just like CarnEvil was when it was there. Fences and barriers can be put up and Planet Snoopy can have an entrance behind Snoopy Boutique, the main arcade, and where the Snoopy statue is and still co-exist with a zone. As long as there is enough signage up to let parents know past a certain part it is a Fright Zone, and as long as the Screamsters know not to scare out of the zone it could work.
But I did like that area, and it actually did hold fog really well. The only part that would have problems holding it was the entrance by Wicked Twister which would lose its fog up to about 25 feet in. Other then that the zone held the fog amazingly.
11 years.
And as for ridership on Windseeker dropping, people use ScreamWorks as a short cut to get to rides instead of walking around. I don't think that ridership would drop that much. If you're with children that don't want to be scared and you want to get to the ride, if you walk through with one arm in the air we know to back off. And when I was there this happened a lot with people just trying to get to the beach entrance or using the entrance to get into the park and we knew to let them go.

See, I would think the open area would actually force people to build better characters. Without the ability to reset, you couldn't just do the same thing over and over all night, you'd be forced to have a mufti-faceted character who could be very interactive with the people and things around them. Obviously that's quite a bit harder to pull off, but I think a good team leader could make it work. :)

And that is what happened in the old CarnEvil every night. I guess it helped that at least half of the zone was filled with theater students from Bowling Green and the Team Leader was the best the park has ever seen but still.
Today we finalized a schedule for removing the big screen in front of CP&LE. Midway view of MF and train station will awesome. More to come.- Hildebrand's twitter.
I love this news.

There wasn't when I posted that. I just thought since we were discussing his other tweets in this thread, I would post this one here too.

Yeah, when I made this thread I didn't know he was going to tweet this interesting stuff every day. I would have made it all about his twitter if I would have known, but I thought Terror Island was about to be the only useful tweet.
Let's Get Weird.
John getting a twitter is the best thing to happen since MF.

If he posts anything interesting, I am sure it will end up on here.
I think a good spot for terror island would be inside of meanstreaks courtyard.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
