^^SkyRider would come to MiA before Mantis. Depending on how much the cost actually would be at least. SkyRider matches the parks capacity to an extent.SkyRider is for sale. Wonder if they'll pull a Demon Drop and just decide to move it to another park in the chain if no one buys. Scrapping it can get some money too though and it does have a problem upkeep cost.
Where did you hear that SkyRider is for sale?
I'm new on here and just wanted to point out a few things that I've noticed! I'm a big CF fan and have been following all of their parks.. This year I was all about the rumored Giga coaster for Carowinds! I'm gonna post a link below for Cedar Fair Roller Coaster Construction Facebook page and if anybody wants, look at their photos which recently seemed to be based around the specualation of Carowinds' 2015 addition!
When you look at the section you will see that there are more pics of a certain track then any other! It's the large Leviathan Blue track, with one pic with it to the right of Fury325's track! Now this track has recently been written off as the track for Acrobat the new B&M flyer clone, which is almost identical to Sea World Orlando's Manta Flyer! My point is.... when you compare the track to any of Manta's track, it does not match any! Not size, shape, type, length, no twists etc etc!
This track is not for a flyer!! NO way! It is for a MASSIVE B&M non-looping coaster! Where is it going is my question?? No International park has announced anything close to this! NO smaller American park is getting it and Six Flags already confirmed what they're getting!!? I don't want to be that guy but it only leaves the #1 company in CF, which has a thing going on with B&M and recently one-upped by a huge margin to their flagship coaster Millennium Force! At CF's flagship park!? All this in the year that Orlando announced the polar coaster for 2016 as the world's tallest coaster! Notice they didn't say it was the first to reach the pinnacle of 500'? How much does CF care about their bragging rights to the title of being the first to conquer all of the major height parameters (200'/300'/400')?
Next what is considered a MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT for CP? What does high noon mean, which is linked to multiple CP social media outlets? What is considered a thrill ride for teens and other hardcore thrillsters? Well I know what major is and from what I read... High noon is western theme, which to me says Frontier Land! Does high mean anything??
I would bet my life that there is no RMC makeover for Mean Streak this year, it would have been done already IMO and RMC is stupid busy with Six Flags this year! CF is all about Steel and nowadays B&M! Either way here is the link and hope I didn't upset anybody with this comment! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Cedar-Fair-Roller-Coaster-Construction/528819877202301?sk=photos_stream
Clues..... Camp Rou and it's location! The pic of the edge of MI near the water that Jason McClure tweeted, which may have been a hint? The random blue pic of Matterhorn?? Jason McClure saying... 2015 will not be aimed towards families! What dark ride is not gonna be aimed towards families? They say we need a new flat ride? Well IMO, hell we got 3 awesome ones last year and Windseeker a few year prior to that and by the look at all of their lines...? Flat rides are not in demand at CP!
According to CP, Gatekeeper wasn't even part of their future plans and was an extra addition! Keep in mind that CF was not happy how Gatekeeper was leaked prior to it being officially announced! Just a thought right there! So CF had no intentions of building a coaster until maybe 2016/2017, since building Maverick?? CP is making a huge investment in the Breakers over the next few years and IMO is a lot considering how it surpasses the additions that they've recently added to the park! Just a lot of money to spend on a hotel when every other park out there is giving theme park fanatics one-upped versions of most of CP's main attractions and also many different attractions that CP does not offer!
CF's/CP's attendance is down but profits are up! Tells me that CP needs to do more than spend $50 million dollars on the Breakers Hotel to get that up, especially with the competition around the offering a lot of the same as CP and different options as well! Just my thoughts everybody! Can't wait for Tuesday!! Ride on!
If the track was spotted at Carowinds, it's for a coaster at Carowinds. They aren't going to drop the track pieces off at a different park, especially not when that park is several hundred miles out of the way from the theoretical final destination.
Goodbye MrScott

Accidentally deleted my post and can't get it back. Here is take two.
Welcome to Point Buzz. You bring up quite a few good points that haven't been mentioned. Although I don't see this track that you are referring to I will take your word for the fact it's there for now until I'm proven wrong. Cedar Point did say they hoped they saved the best for last, but after seeing the announcement for Fury 325, I find it hard to believe that anything will surpass it in 2015 or at least the start of the season. I don't think Cedar Point would have said they saved the best for last unless they did because that could get a lot of people disappointed and that's not exactly what you want for an amusement park. No flat ride will surpass Fury 325 so the only way to beat it would be a coaster, but at this point, there is no way they could build something huge by Opening day. Which is why if they do end up taking the coaster route, my guess is that it would open later in the season or even maybe 2016. Going way back to the time of the survey markings in the Point Pavilion, I think that those were for one if two things. Either to throw us off the scent of something happening in some other part of the park, or to build a new pavilion. It could have been to misdirect our attention to the BS midway because we all know it needs to be updated, but maybe they don't plan to do that this off season. While keeping any one speculating focus on that area, they could have been making markings much more hidden in another part of the park. I feel like I'm reading way to much into this I just find it interesting you say there is track with no home yet and Cedar Point is the only one not to make an announcement. The last thing I find interesting is that Cedar Point is making the announcement on a day they are closed and on top of it they are not streaming it. Why not? If it really was something huge them streaming it would be the way to present it. Not updating the website and maybe posting a video. I know this contradicts a lot of what I stated earlier, but I am very confused. Cedar Point is sending some mixed messages so I'm just thinking on both sides of what could happen. I really have no clue what to expect though. Besides a thrill ride of some sort.
Of course but this is at the B&M plant and before Fury325 was announced. These pics were posted before the track started showing up at Carowinds! Either way somebody's getting a large B&M that's unaccounted for so far!
Did anyone else catch Fox 8 talking about this forum this morning.
Cedar Point + Kings Island = Heaven
DUEL, an RMC racing coaster with an 111 degree drop. There, I just saved you guys two days of torture. ;)
All I know is that we're talking about Cedar Point! Not Carowinds, Kings Dominion, Kings Island etc etc.... Lol CP is and will always be CF's flagship park and I think a lot of people are forgetting what park made the industry what it is today! Most of all, why that park had such an impact on the industry and this is a business that CF is running! Believe it or not CF will do whatever it takes to make money and at all costs!
I don't think that's a very appropriate image to be linking here.
Also, WishfulThinker83, I don't think you're new. I think you are BrandonW.

There's a lot of excitement built up in this thread.
Only two days until the speculation ends. It's a bit sad, really.
Here is an article from Channel 3 that discusses 2015. They even brought up this website in their article! http://www.wkyc.com/story/news/features/2014/08/29/cedar-point-to-m.../14803483/

I think this is the track that WishfulThinker83 was referring to, although it is not next to Fury 325 track

^That could be track waiting to be shipped to Carowinds.
Most likely. B&M is already building five confirmed rides. They rarely do more than 5-6 per year. They just don't have the facilities to fabricate more track.
Intamin, however, is only confirmed for 1 in 2015, a hyper in China. While I'm doubtful that CP will get a coaster, they certainly have the capacity to do more, unless, of course, there are a boatload of smaller rides going in.
The lack of press conference signifies to me it is NOT a coaster. Recent trend has been a press conference. (Fury325, Banshee, Gatekeeper, etc)
Of course this announcement could break the pattern.

I have never heard that Gatekeeper wasn't part of their plans and was just an "extra addition". Where did you hear this? I don't think spending $30 million is just an extra addition that wasn't in their plans.
Closed topic.
