For what it's worth Canada's Wonderland is getting rid of their stand up coaster but it's older than Mantis. As have half of the parks with a Togo stand up. Not particularly big news. Tons of their coasters have closed due to roughness.
It may not be big news to you (and that's why I began with "For what it's worth), but to me I think it says a lot about the future of Mantis. You said that that the Togo stand ups are being closed due to roughness. Let's face it, Mantis isn't exactly the smoothest ride in the park. It can be downright punishing at times.
CP has at least a couple options (other than "do nothing")- slap on a new coat of paint and get another 10 years or so out of it before something new and better takes up the real estate. Or take a ride whose framework still has a lot of life left in it and modify it so that it can be reborn so to speak.
At a bare minimum I'd settle for better restraints so I don't feel like I just got my ears slapped by the three stooges. :)
With the 2 Hybrid woodies to Six Flags..
You cant help but see them doing something CRAZY with Mean Streak.
The redesigns of the other coasters takes the same Idea.. then adds a thrilling TWIST on the old design.. With MEAN STREAK'S layout.. and length of track..
I could see them going for the tallest, fastest and longest of the new woodie hybrids...
That woud be truely epic as that twisting colossus.. the reborn cyclone and what they did to the other woodie (forget its name, the one they did this year) was awesome!
Mean Streak would be one badass coaster (with it's speed and height) as a RMC. haha
If MS could somehow keep it's old-school feel with some new-school craziness, it would easily be one of my favorites. The only down side is that construction would have had to have already started if it were to be done for the 2015 season (right?)...But everything's a possibility I guess.
Just as a side note:
"High noon" sometimes means "exactly at noon." I don't know if that's actually supposed to be a clue.
Mean streak is really bad A anyway and it was smoothed out some time ago...if this would be a hybrid it would be even Meaner. My guess would be Aquatrax where Dinosaurs is some kinda family indoor where pirates is and King James where Mantis is....but usually CP always tricks me!
Wznm
So Tony kept saying "Aquatrax" as a joke on twitter and we would just chuckle at it thinking there is no war that is what is coming in 2015. But what if it really is Aquatrax...

A lot of Togo coasters have closed but could you cite your source on the reason? I've never heard that they closed due to roughness, maintenance concerns were the reason I heard.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
I'm with you, Pete. I thought King Cobra at Kings Island was more enjoyable to ride than Mantis. It had air time hills!

Well, Cedar Fair is not saving the best for last, they're saving their best for last.
So this thrill ride will be a better addition than the giga at Carowinds? I hope you're right ;)

Webcams and been focused on Pirate Ride Building and Mean streak ever since the news of the Tuesday announcement.
Is it bad that instead of them making a normal announcement at noon that I am half hoping the at noon exactly MS and the PR building just collapse on the webcams and an announcement comes out later that night? I just think it would look cool if they were to do anything with MS or the PR building.

Not anymore - the top is pointed directly downward and the bottom is facing in the direction of Millennium Force, but no view of Mean Streak.
PR isn't going anywhere, at least not until the end of Halloweekends because they got a haunt set up in there.
