I'm wondering - looking at Cedar Fair's trademarks on Trademarkia.com, I see two "Fury" names: Fury 325 and simply Fury that was filed several months before.
Does anyone think both names might be used at two separate parks? To get an idea, I mean like Intimidator 305 at Kings Dominion and simply Intimidator at Carowinds.
It's certainly possible, but I think Intimidator was a specific case because of the licensing deal with DEI or whatever. The new ride at Carowinds will likely become their signature ride, so I wouldn't think the name would be used elsewhere.

I think carowinds will be the only cedar fair coaster for 2015 carowind is the only one under construction in cedar fair I guess it could be used if knotts gets a coaster
Kings dominion just announced water park expanisons I wonder if cedar point will FINALLY announce 2015 today.
If they announce it without announcing the announcement, then they are not set to announce anything toooo significant (like a roller coaster).
So long as you guys continue to fall all over yourselves assuming EVERYTHING is a clue, the park has no reason to make an announcement.

dj is starting to sound like the two old guys on the Muppets.
I already had a trip to Carowinds planned for next year (and one back to KD since Intimidator was closed when I went last year). I'll be excited with whatever that track is for!
As for CP, I'm starting to think Mantis really is going to undergo some changes, but whether that is more than just the name or not, I can't say. I'm not sure how much trains cost, but it can't be cheap, and at some point I'd like to see them replace Wildcat.
One other thought - is the Point Pavilion in the best spot for what it is? At KI the picnic grove is one of the furthest areas from the entrance. It seems like they could put another attraction there and move Point Pavilion somewhere less prime.
Platinum has it's perks. So does living exactly 97.5 miles from King's Island and Cedar Point
Yeah - the 18 people on this site who are having fun with this certainly are dictating the announcement date.
Wildcat?

It's a safe bet that among the park's considerations for when to announce is interest level. So long as that level remains high (despite there being no evidence beyond paint markings), why waste all that free publicity by announcing sooner?

You don't know what WildCat is/was?

Sorry, I thought you were trying to say it was still there.

Because the 18 people on a website that the overwhelming majority of park guests have probably never heard of counts as enough interest to postpone a real announcement that goes to the masses. Sure - I can see that.

Wildcat has been replaced with the Luminosity bleachers and beverage area.

Did you miss the part where I said "among their considerations"? Hell, I even italicized it so you'd notice. :)

Fury 325 at Carowinds, looks like fun. CP isn't getting a new coaster this year IMO. (which is pretty obvious if you've been following along)

I was never expecting a coaster this year. I think 2018 is the earliest CP will get a new coaster. The fact that there is no hint of an announcement yet or a leak should be a clue that next years addition(s) will not be anything major. Most parks that are getting a coaster for 2015 already announced it, or are getting ready to, like Carowinds.

Thought you guys would like to know...
New for 2015 at Carowinds: Fury 325.
325 feet tall
95 mph
81 degreee drop
3:25 ride time
World's tallest and fastest Giga Coaster; longest steel coaster in North America.
B&M Giga Coaster it is. So I guess that's one mystery solved. :)
^Also the longest giga coaster in North America beating Millennium by a whopping 7 feet ;). Looks like a great coaster though for sure.
^^I bet we'll see one before that, maybe a kid/family coaster or a dark ride coaster combo like WMG. We'll see a big one in 2020 for the 150th I'm sure :)
