New for 2015

Raptor with the new B&M restraints, new entrance and a new paintjob? Very nice! From the Point Pavilion, Blue Streak Midway pics out now... I would say we'll be entering Raptor in 2015 from a different location. Just my opinion everybody!

New restraints on raptor is impossible.
test paint does not mean anything.

Impossible is nothing. Or did I get that backwards? ;)

In regards to the my new restraints comment..... New restraints means new trains! Sorry should have been more specific! How can test paint mean nothing? They're testing something for a reason! You don't just put random paint samples on your $12 million dollar roller coaster and that goes for Mantis as well.

Just saying, but usually when there is a small paint strip somewhere on coaster rails or track (such as Raptor's), I think it means that spot was recently welded and they paint it to cover it up.

For some reason, I also remember that specific Raptor support having the same two toned paint color last year during Halloweekends, but I really can't be 100% positive if that is when I saw it.

Absolutely twistedwicker, but look at thishttps://twitter.com/PointPixels/status/501182945810718720/photo/1 link my man!

I know I edited the last half of my last comment while you were typing that BrandonW, so you probably didn't see what I said yet...

ooh ic ic..... got ya! Still knowing that Ouimet may have been there while you saw those testers makes me wonder? Everything seems to be getting a facelift!

New paint does not automatically mean the entire ride is going to change, especially in Raptors case. Paint peels, the color fades. Everything needs to be repainted at some point. When Millennium was repainted a couple years ago no one went off saying the entire thing was going to change and the were going to make it a launched flying wing invert. And its not like the paint on Raptor is red or some completely different color. Chances are they are just going to give it new paint and hopefully a new lighting package in the future.

Millennium Force's repainting was announced as a repainting. It is also only 14 years old and remains one of the most beloved roller coasters around the world.

Raptor and Mantis, as enjoyable as they can be, are 4 and 6 years older, respectively, and not quite held in the same high regard. Also, paint is appearing mysteriously on rides rumored to see other improvements.

Not the same thing.

Redesigned trains on Raptor seems unlikely. I think the newer trains are actually wider and they'd introduce all kinds of complications in the station and probably lift areas not being wide enough. I'll buy a paintjob though. It would be the second one for that ride, but i think it's been over 10 years now since the last one.

^^ True, but thats not to say they didn't do a test paint on the track and supports somewhere on Millennium/Adventure island or some portion of track out of sight before the announcement. Unlike most of the rides that are pretty much have the entire ride completely visible Millennium is very spread out and there are parts that cannot be seen from the midways.

Lets keep remember who solved the Rougarou riddle and the proof is right here on Pointbuzz! I also made a few other hinted speculations that were scorn upon by long-time members...... We shall see everybody!

You've thrown so much crap at the wall that some of it is bound to stick. But that certainly doesn't make you Nostradamus.

I'm pretty sure I've also seen one of Raptor's supports have different color paint about one or two years ago--that being said, nothing happened to Raptor. I don't see why so many of us are getting so worked up about this.

I could be wrong, though. Maybe they will repaint it!

DJ I'm really trying to be a good sport! I know I'm the newbie but crap? You gotta say that man? I know we share the same name but it's almost like no matter what I say it's gonna put you in the defense mode with the insults over nothing but speculation! Speculation just for fun! Because we all love CP! And just because a few of us here are new to Pointbuzz, does not mean that we don't have the same knowledge of this great park like you do! All of you guys wanna pick, choose who is to be involved in a public thread and I'm sorry but that's what telephones are for... I believe that I average 1 post per day since my joining Pointbuzz (35).... I want every single person to go through and read my comments so you can tell me how I inconvenienced your day by sharing my thoughts on Pointbuzz... A thread where nobody but CF/CP execs should have any real credibility.

Pointbuzz also does not limit the amount of comments allowed on a thread per day! So running down the popularity of the site by running new members off is just not right! Let people comment! If you don't wanna read somebody's comment, just simply use your eyes to look down to the next comment! Maybe if you got to know somebody instead judging based on their membership tenure, there would be no drama and this site would be more successful! No more friendly fire, this is just fun and we all have more in common than you think! I'll tell you what I'm gonna do.... I'm gonna go use my platinum pass today!

How's that any different from the real Nostradamus? :)

Brandon W, just as a word of advice, don't take things seriously.....it's not good for you on here. Just take it in good stride (it's hard, I know). I will "reword" what DJ said in a more polite way.

Just because you made a guess in regards to what might be happening and it just so happened to be right (for anything current or in the future) doesn't mean you should boast about it. Most of us give credit when it's due and others, most likely, will acknowledge it without psychicall typing anything. But boasting about something doesn't really float well with a vast majority of people here....or even in general in my opinion. It's just arrogant.

With that said, I also don't think it's fair to bring up the whole "veteran posters on here are evil" argument when it was never brought up in any context. It's getting really old and paints a very inaccurate picture of what us veteran posters are really like. DJ is very opinionated and perhaps a bit brash at times, but if he gets under your skin, just remember what the Disney movie Frozen teaches us.....Let it go. ;)

In other news, I can reciprocate that Raptor has had new(ish) paint on that particular support for a few years now. And I would also agree that the little spot of track that has the fresh paint on it was after something was done to the track (grinding or whatever). None of what has been shown is evidence of something happening to the ride next year.

There are at least a dozen supports on Raptor that have been painted recently, some look nearly brand new while others are years old. The one in the picture posted here is right at the entrance, however by the brake run there at least 2 columns that have been painted all the way up to the first flange. A bit of new paint is obviously the norm for raptor... It does need to be re-painted but I would not call what I see test patches, they appear to be simply areas that were touched up is all.

They gotta power wash all the bird crap off Raptor too!

Speculate all you want, I don't care. But if you're going to speculate wildly, without using any sort of logic or critical thought, I might call you out on it. Or not. Just as there's no rule preventing you from guessing that a green support means that CP is finally going to be open year-round, there's also no rule that says I can't point out how much your speculation sucks. :)

...does not mean that we don't have the same knowledge of this great park like you do!

Perhaps. But those of us who have been around a while do have the perspective that what you're doing isn't speculation. You're basically engaged in text-based Roller Coaster Tycoon. You're not basing your predictions on thoughtful consideration of the facts. You're just wildly typing out your wish list, occasionally tying that list to some random picture or Twitter post.

All that said, go right ahead and keep on keepin' on, if that's your thing. But just keep in mind that if you share your thoughts, we get to share ours back. :)
