New for 2015

For the Mantis buttons, does any one know if you usually have to pay for them? Although thinking about it more, why choose Mantis over a more popular ride such as Millennium, Maverick, TTD, etc. This could mean absolutely nothing at all, or that Mantis is about to see some major or even minor changes this offseason. We are just going to have to wait for the announcement at this point, because it is clear that not even the Lemon Chill Guy has any clue of what is to come.

Or that they had a surplus of Mantis buttons that weren't selling, and decided to write them off and give them away. (Surplus food can be donated to food banks, but what charity would be interested in receiving thousands of roller coaster buttons?)

Food spoils. Buttons don't. Why give something away you could continue to sell season after season? I'm not saying they're definitely changing the name, but it is the most reasonable answer as to why they're giving those things out

No, but if it's not being distributed through sales or otherwise, it's taking up (potentially valuable) warehouse space.

Who in their right mind would pay for a Mantis button these days? It's gotta be a super limited market.

...Unless they wanted something to remember the ride that stole their fertility...

I'm going to guess Shawn.

Just a guess.

No offense, Shawn.

I think that they may have come across a lot of old inventory and are clearing stuff out.
The RV and Marina stores now have inventory of old Ray-o-vac flashlights that appear to be from the 70s and a lot of odd older small games and RV merchandise.

Perhaps these things were all tucked away in a corner of the Pirate Ride Building...

Interesting they start giving away Mantis buttons now while all of the rumors are swirling about the ride. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe not. I say name is changing- but a name change without a significant change in ride experience seems pointless.

A few years ago they were giving out free pins for Raptor and Magnum. No changes there yet.

So I was at the park Saturday and had an interesting moment.
We were leaving the Pagoda gift shop and the cashier stopped me and asked if I wanted a free Mantis button. That is leaving me thinking that something will be happening in regards to Mantis, could be the renamed Lebron coaster or something more.

Nothing proves Mantis is getting removed or changed next year more than giving away free merchandise :)

Reports of new paint on Raptor? They must be getting ready to convert it into a B&M flyer. ;)

Raptor needs a new paint job.

^ Try two posts up from yours. ;)

Oh my gosh! Yes! We are getting the B&M flyer treatment! That foot of new paint which is obviously there to hide the worn down track totally sells it!;)

Arms Down, Head Back, and Hold On!...Arms Down!...Arms Down......

Raptor does need new paint but outta everything at CP, TTD needs it the most.
