You guys are all way off base.
Cedar point is finally getting encased in a dome for 2015, and we all know how awesome the park looks at night, so guess what? It'll be full on nighttime mode in there all the time. Werewolves how at the moon, so that's a hint right there - they are investing the most money they have ever spent on simulated moonlight, complete with changing/moving moon that is capable of causing tides on the little bit of beach that is inside the dome.
You guys are way over thinking this. It's so obvious this is what's happening.

Number 4??? I wont be happy with anything less then a number 10!
^You must hate everything at the park then because the highest the Thrill Rating goes is 5.
They are going to throw everyone a curveball when Mantis's track gets the new Texas Giant treatment, Mean Streak gets floorless trains, and they build the world's first launched inverted winged hyper strata coaster with a couple loop de loops.
Sorry, I don't post much here, but I had to play too....

Didn't they say the same thing about Windseeker? Not that it matters. Just curious.

That's a four? I haven't ridden it yet but watching the pov, seems fairly tame. Anyone ride this? How was it?

One person I have seen on this forum has ridden the Guardian and didn't like it. Everybody else on here who have NOT ridden it, don't like it either.
A buddy of mine rode it a few weeks ago and liked it well enough. I sense from him it's not the greatest dark ride, but it has it's pleasures. He said the locals he saw really seem to like it.
I dont base coasters off the thrill rating. If that were accurate then iron dragon would not be a 4/5 thrill rating..
What if.. The encased a Screamin Squirrel in a building and made it into a dark ride?
They can incormparate both scremain squirrel designs into one thats about 250ft..

http://rcdb.com/3465.htm?p=53307
The second one is only 88ft and the first is around 150ft...
If think all that they can incorporate into one thats 250 ft and enclosed.. That would be awesome.
Im kind of tired of having to go either B&M or Intamin. Lets get S&S back into the park. I think after the tower collapse of that one slingshot ride at DP, CP hasnt trusted them (but it was documented that the ride was designed to operate all year and not have the car removed for long periods of time)...
a screamin squirrel is a coaster.. and we need an adequate replacement for wildcat
That slingshot isn't the only issue with an S&S ride, Skyhawk's been plagued with issues the last 2 seasons.

So they should build something just like this?
According to the new pointcast they did tell the Llamas on Frontier Trail. So if anyone speaks Llama please ask them. :)
I wanted to ride Guardian but it was not on Fast Lane for some reason and the line was too long so I never rode it. It looks interesting though. The coaster aspect seems tame when you look at it from the ground, but you can't see the vertical track drop that happens at the end of the ride. That is probably a highlight of the ride.
What works nicely at Canada's Wonderland is the ready made mountain they were able to integrate the ride with. If they put it in a building at CP, I really hope it is a beautiful building and not another Disaster Transport. The coaster aspect of this ride would probably need a building in size similar to DT, I hope it is not an eyesore if it does happen.

Unfortunately, Llama's can't speak. But they are able to write in the dirt with their hooves. When I asked, they wrote that 2015 will be their favourite ride.

Is it bad that I kind of miss that ride? It was my first roller coaster so that could be why. I'm sure there is some app out there some where that can translate from llama to English ;)
Tony's tweets I think are definitely clues. Remember "favourite"? And "rite and spel"? And talking like a "pirrrate"? "Afraid of the dark" could be a clue to Rougarou. Rougarou is French for wolf. Legends tell of a rougarou, or a werewolf-like monster. Since werewolves live in the dark, under a full moon, it all makes sense.
Plus, ride could be on the water, making me think of pirates. "Favourite" could be a sign of Rougarou too, with the ou's and all. The rrr's could mean that the ride starts with an R. Hmmmm.....
Cedar Point.
Definitely not better than Millennium.
I sure hope it's not a Wonder Mountain clone, atleast not yet. The reviews haven't been out of this world and like many others have said, they need to really get a feel for the ride before they produce it across the chain.
Enjoy the rest of your day at America's Rockin' Roller Coast! Ride On!

I posted a few reflections in the "In the Dark" thread.
Let's just say this, if this is indeed what Cedar Point has up their sleeve, I'm personally not too thrilled.
This is what I had to say:
Pete, I was less than impressed with Guardian. As I said initially, it was an OK and unique ride (I won't give away any "spoilers" unless you've heard). The best way I can describe it is that it looks...unfinished, or like they ran out of money to complete the "feel" in all the places. There are places where any attempt at immersing you in a theme is completely lost. The transitions from scene to scene also seemed a bit awkward. That may sound a bit nit-picky to some, but this ride was advertised as being a revolution and setting a new "standard" for the industry. Not so much. As a comparison, Curse of Darkastle at BGW is a superior ride and offers a superior level of theme and immersion, and that ride is how many years old? Of course, that is not an interactive dark ride, nor is it a coaster as well, but it does rely on animation while moving you through an environment, and that environment is very nicely set up.I would be very hesitant and not very hopeful if Cedar Point announced we were getting a similar ride at our park, if for no other reason than I simply do not enjoy the interactive component whatsoever. I'm sure they could improve the quality, but as others have noted, the enjoyment of the "video game" approach to these rides is completely lost on me. My daughter also put her gun down after about 30 seconds so she could watch everything.
I would also vote for a spookier theme. Fun and spooky can be blended well together to attract people of all age (See Pirates OTC).
Part of enjoying a family ride is enjoying the ride experience together. When I ride Pirates of the Caribbean with my daughters we are all having a shared experience and we can even talk to each other during the ride about what we're seeing, what's fun, what's scary etc. When you turn it into a video game, suddenly everyone is in their own little world and not really paying attention to the ride experience or the people around them. They're focused on shooting the cartoon and scoring points.
No thanks.
All that said, it's not as if Cedar Point would be installing this exact ride, and I'm positive they could improve upon it. I just shudder at the thought of a once-in-a-generation dark-ride installation taking the route of the "interactive" genre.
